Happy Monday Spacelings

It is yet another beautiful day here in California - and no, we never get tired of them!

Hope you all are having a simple and pleasant morning, where ever you are and whatever you're doing.

Dumpling - glad you are shaking the flu, it was a particularly rough strain this year. I dodged it.* But it hit a lot of people I know and was not pleasant in the least.

*LOL - this is one of those strange things in life. Some years ago I worked on pandemic planning for a major corporation, which included extensive education and training. One of the things I learned (and saw the effect in training simulations) was the importance of keeping "social distance" from other people during flu season and the importance of "hand awareness". Weirdly enough, since then, I have never gotten the flu. Here are the two simple rules:

1. Stay at least 7 feet (three paces, plus or minus) from all casual contacts with people, at work, when out in public places.
2. When out in public or at work NEVER touch you nose, mouth, or eyes unless you have cleaned your hands immediately prior with soap and water or hand sanitizer.

Yes, it does make you seem paranoid, but I can attest it actually seems to work. The primary vector of infectious diseases, such as the flu, is hand-to-mouth - touching something holding active flu culture and then touching yourself.

If you find yourself in an environment and see someone coughing, politely excuse yourself and leave the environment. This includes things like abandoning your shopping cart in line. Just push it aside and walk away.

See, now when you do these things to avoid the flu, you can say "some semi-random stranger on the internet told me...".
