Good morning, everyone. Last night on my way home from the races I hit a deer in the most pitch black area of the county so since the car was running, I decided to keep driving. Impact was hard enough that my body moved. Got home and by some grace of god, my vehicle had zero damage. I don’t know how, but not even a scratch. Feeling very lucky today.

Yikes! Glad you're okay and your car is okay. Having grown up in deer country, they can take a car out when you hit one. Your lucky stars were shining.

I hope today treats everyone with kindness and grace.

Had a heck of a weekend here, helping a friend of mine clear out about ten years of overgrown vegetation on a house she inherited. Lots of hard, dusty, sticky, buggy work. She refers to the house as a "hoarder starter kit", but it is finally starting to shape up and you can see there is actually a beautiful house underneath it. (For those of you who are architecture fans, it's an Eichler.)

But, I slept well last night and it's a cool morning and I am expecting family visitors in for the holiday (my brother and three of his kids). It's going to be a good week.

Dumpling - LOL - I have a coffee emergency here as well. I am down to my last cup at home. I am going to have to make an emergency coffee run this morning!

I hope everyone had a nice 4th, wherever you are and whatever you did. Mine was easy going, a few morning errands and then a day spent lazing about, with a small get together to watch a movie in the evening (Dunkirk) and eat tasty creatures dredged from the sea.
