Star City- The Heroes of Tomorrow OOC

A lil' off topic(in terms of writing) but on topic in terms of this thread's content:

Just finished season two of Arrow. I'm ecstatic because now I can begin season three, most especially along with season one of The Flash!!!!!!

Weird note#1: Don't laugh at me, but.....now.....when I'm "seeing" Oliver and/or Felicity...heh.....I'm associating them(the image) with you guys. Olie = "Lunaramblings"; Felicity = Miss "ChasNicollette"!!!!

I don't know how else to explain it. Kinda surreal(it happens in dreams too. Not necessarily THIS particular, exact topic...but the concept. You 'associate' certain.....people or themes or 'images' with conceived ideas in your head, and that becomes the reality for you! And by 'you', I'm talking about myself!

Does this happen to anyone else?

Well, at least now I know why "Lunaramblings" is always so 'busy', and Miss "ChasNicollette" is always ON TOP of her game, all the time....every time!! BECAUSE THEY ARE IN FACT THESE PEOPLE IRL!!!!!!!!!! ;)

[anyway, the tv show-verse is so amazing......completely shuddering at the whole dc move-verse and what could have been(the combined continuity between the two) and now unfortunately what is(separate realities and thus separate casts)!]

Heh.

While what I know about computer programming and, by extension, hacking, could only fill a very small brochure.

I'm just blessed with the ability to assimilate terminology decently well.

And I am very grateful that you associate my portrayal so closely with Emily Bett Rickards'-- she does a wonderful, wonderful job and I am proud to be able to mimic her to any degree.

I want to write something Rose-related, to keep her energy flowing, but I'm not sure what to do.

A flashback?

...I don't even know.

I don't think I want to go into the mythology of The Dial yet, that's for later.

Hm.

Don't suppose anyone has any requests? (I know that's kind of a long shot, but still.)

So one of my roommates heard me complaining that I didn't have a good picture to represent The Koan, without realizing that Wombat had already offered to draw her...

...and got me a commissioned b&w bust as a late Christmas present.

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Koan.

There are no words for how awesome this is.

You have cool friends.

You have cool friends.

I do! I REALLY DO.

When I first moved in with them I had a birthday a couple months later and they made me a TARDIS cake with one of my cats in The TARDIS because his name is Captain Jack and I wrote a story with him where he met The Doctor and Captain Jack Harkness.

Way better than the last set of people I lived with, holy carp.

Last person I lived with kicked me out for a sorority girl. We'd been friends since the 1st grade. But she told me I had 24 hours to get out because apparently for some people, pussy outweighs loyalty.

Anyway about my post...I...can change anything anyone wishes. I just got tired of waiting so I had to jump in somehow.

Wow.

And here I thought you were "The Dark One" because you had immense magical power but were beholden to the wielder of a mystic dagger.

...I kid, but seriously, I'm sorry for your struggles.

Hope I didn't miss anything, a new order or such. I had a bit of reading to catch up on before I posted. Just lemme know thanks.

Hey, DK.

J'onn telepathically suggested that the team escort the rest of the kids back to The Brownstone-- which is to say, Justice Society Headquarters-- while Blue Beetle investigates this weird energy reading thing and looks for Billy and Sarah. I don't know if John or the symbiote would consider that an order, but it's something to keep in mind.

Also, um, Nevyn?

In this storyline/timeline, we're The Justice Society, rather than The Justice League. Partly, if I remember Lunar's explanation right, to differentiate us from the cinematic Justice League, and partly so we don't get confused with The League of Assassins/Shadows. Too many Leagues, man, twenty thousand of them.

Gotcha!

That's a very cool picture of The Koan, Miss "ChasNicollette"! I'll go so far as to say I love it -- is that pastel or charcoal though? What medium did the artist use? Commissions rock, very spiffy indeed :)

As I'm catching up on the thread, I'm liking the direction for your character in Mister Reyes "Nevyn_Black"! And since I missed the opportunity before, I shall say it now: welcome to the roleplay ;)

As for Bart, I'm off *TODAY*....so I'm going to finish up on reading up on the thread. Then I'll post. Here's hoping he doesn't do anything....too....stupid! Hehe :)

Oh, Miss "ChasNicollette" -- to your Rose request(s). I'm behind on reading on *HER* excursions too.....embarassingly enough. But....did you all ready touch upon.....from whence/how she *MET* Robbie by any chance? I mean in the story -- YOUR story passages -- for her and all. It could be a silly thought. But to me.....the most important part of a comic. A story. A show. Was(and is) always.....the character interactions. The relationships and all. I'm instantly drawn to that part of her - besides of course, as you say....the mythology of the "H" dial -- all of which she may share with that man in her life. I very much enjoy their dynamic that you got going on and all......just sayin' ;)

Thank you, it's a relief to know that people are reading and enjoying my OC's posts. I tend to worry that she's just a bit of wank and tl;dr that people are just going to gloss over.

As you may have read already, I did flashback to how Robby and Rose first met. I also provided a modicum of historical and personal context as to why Rose would be so convinced that meeting Robby would be Kismet. I have considered doing other slice-of-life flashbacks with them, but I haven't been able to think of any such moments that would further their narrative as well, and in an "Arrow"verse especially, flashbacks should always be both plot- and character-driven. I'll continue to think on that notion, especially if people are looking forward to that sort of thing.

As for The Koan, yeah, damn, ain't she somethin'? I like the fact that The Koan somehow looks pretty under the mask, which I did not see coming-- but it totally works, especially considering that the female Question was the lovely Renee Montoya and my female Rorschach was "played by" Natalie Portman.

I never interacted with the artist myself, but her website says she works in digital? I don't know art but I know what I like, and I like this!

Contra, and the 80's -- CLASSIC! Love it :))))

I do have a question though, for "Lunaramblings". You keep referencing the "brownstone". WHAT exactly does that mean, may I ask? Thanks!

The Konami Code has seen me through many a gaming catastrophe.

Given Bart's abiding relationship with VR, and his attempt in your last post to frantically look in many directions at once, I thought a "Keep Calm" would not go amiss. XD

If I might chime in on Lunar's behalf, "The Brownstone" was the nickname for JSA headquarters at one point during The 90's run of "JSA." Here, it also refers to our Justice Society HQ, also known as The Hall of Justice-- but the "Brownstone" colloquialism is easier for hurried harried heroes to say on comms.

Yep.

Definitely loving this Jaime Reyes.

Though I do hope we can do something to try and help him get his old joie de vivre back, it's interesting to see him all grown up, surviving this long with The Scarab in his head.

Thanks! I think you'll like where I intend to take it. Hopefully. It's a complicated thing.

Looking forward to it!

I have to say I love what everybody is doing. It's really wonderful to see and take part in such a story with such talented writers. I'm doing my best to keep it simple and just tell a very human story about Jaime's journey.
