Star City- The Heroes of Tomorrow OOC

Well done. Should be interesting to see her in action. Especially with the new age of Magic approaching... lol

Thank you, dear.

I thought it would be a shame if we didn't represent Vixen, given her upcoming presence in the canon Flarrowverse, and I also thought it would be a shame if none of the main characters felt direct repercussions from this thing you're doing with magic.

Only I do hope that people don't get mad at me for "recasting" Vixen as a multiracial woman rather than straight-up African-American. I did not want to fall into the Hollywood tendency to cast an "acceptably light-skinned" black woman. But I know that Kali Hawk is capable of conveying humor and bad-assery, and she bears a more than passing resemblance to the promotional image of Mari.

Indeed, the dichotomy between her Western and African heritages dovetails pointedly with terrible current events going down in Africa as we speak, events which it behooves us to keep squarely in mind.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that Kali's surname is an animal.

Ok...that was the coolest shit I've ever seen. Bruce Wayne on stage in full batsuit, singing to an audience in a lounge...and the perfect fuckin song too.

That was awesome.

I think I know now what has to happen with Jaime. That last part has nothing to do with the first part of the post. The Blue Beetle will not be doing kareoke.

Heeheehee. Nothing I love more than hyperlinking a good Easter egg, glad you enjoyed!

Bummer.

Bet he's got a killer sound system in that exoskeleton.

Bart. Mañana. Gonna happen, at some point.

Count on it!

This is all.

;)

I watched that this week, watched Season 1 to 3 and the coolest moments?

Batman attacking Darkseid
Batman singing
Wild Cat vs Black Canary
And of course: The Question

Sigh.

Wish I had the moxy, brain power and ability to write as Question. He's even better than that Rorshark guy in that other movie/comic where they work wih Mr/Dr Manhattan.

DK, did you know that Rorschach is an AU version of The Question? Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons made alternate versions of all those Charlton Comics characters so they could tell a super dark story that wouldn't destroy the original continuity. Dr. Manhattan was originally Captain Atom, the two Nite-Owls were based on Dan Garrett and Ted Kord, it's pretty awesome.

Rose's hero The Koan is a tribute to both The Question and Rorschach, and I would love to know if you think she lives up to her originals!

Watching Arrow makes me want to pull wraith out of the closet & blow off the dust
I'm in complete support of this, and I don't even *KNOW* who this spectacular Wraith is!!!

Ahaha.

Okay. Time to buckle down, catch up on reading this thread...so I can go Bart-o-matic. Or something...;)

I figured as much and I'll get back to you after Koan have appeared a bit longer, the first time was a very short-lived moment you know :p

I just like The Question more, he has his secrets, but he plays them so close to the chest I almost tend to think that even he at times forget what the faces of the cards look like. Rorshark dudethingy is just dark and stays that way. If I want dark and brooding I'll just watch Bale's Batman movies

Haha, yeah, hopefully this thread will run long enough that I really get to flesh out all her Heroes. Especially the Koan, because her image came to me almost like prophecy.

There's more to Rorschach than just dark and brooding, though. Azzarello didn't do Rorschach any favors with his prequel series in "Before Watchmen," but in Alan Moore's original graphic novel he had a very complex descent into madness. Additionally, the madness was rooted in Objectivist ideals, normally a very unheroic philosophy, which gave him a very curious dynamic. Indeed, he was arguably the most heroic of the "Watchmen" characters, because he refused to accept a utopia built on lies and wholesale murder.

I did a lot of research on the Objectivist mindset and relationship with symbolism and belief when I wrote a female heir to Rorschach in Lunar's "Watchmen" thread. Not anything I would ever believe myself, rather like Punisher's fanatical sociopathy or Deadpool's wacky nihilsm, but still fascinating when you're trying to understand how it ticks.

Wraith is kinda a cross of The Darkness & Spiderman, with some extradimensional warlord thrown in.

he can be fun!

There's a reason I wanted to pay tribute to him with ShadowPax!

But seriously, it's "Spider-Man," with a hyphen. :: facepalm :: They never listen.

I'd like to rather write as The Executioner. He is very easy to understand. You don't abide to society's laws? BANG! You use terror? BANG! You are a mad scientist? BANG! You are a hot woman who wants to jump my bones? Psh dream on.

See? Easy!

While Mr Castle on the other hand is much more complex, sure sure he's still a Police officer deep down in there somewhere, but he's just a wacko...a cool wacko mind you.

Deadpool...sigh...oh Deadpool you glorious piece of comic genius! Of course there's a lot of Fourth wall breakers, but none ever comes close to what this guy does to my creative juices! When I think Deadpool, I just want to start writing...oh well ce'st la vie and all that.

I actually strongly disagree with this. It depends on the version of The Punisher that you choose. The original Frank Castle was a Nam Vet Marine, who became a cop and got his family snuffed, then went on a rampage. He was very two-dimensional and kind of stupid and in the end, rather boring. Then in the 90s, The Punisher got a redo.

This version is a genius anti-terrorist operative who speaks 17 languages and has contacts in every nation in the world. He's a rather complex and shaded individual who has a certain duality that I find intriguing. His motivations are hard to comprehend, he is obviously a psychopath to do what he does, but he also feels conflicted about it. There are moments of tremendous cruelty, but alongside moments of incredible courage and compassion.

He's a good man who has just been fractured right down the center of himself. His family was the only bright point in his life, the saving grace, his one chance at sanity and peace. They were taken from him and...well... Frank Castle died.

The Punisher was born in blood and fire from Frank Castle's grave.
The ghost of Frank Castle wants to rest and rejoin his family, but The Punisher still has work to do...and no matter what they throw at him, or how tired he gets, he still keeps living to do his work...

Got pulled away most of the afternoon, cause of sick vizslas, and stupid change of insurance cards(making me switch pharmacies). Now we're about to go out to an oft-too-postponed din with the parents.

The good news? I'm caught up on the thread. Looooove the heck outta it! That's some awesome work people -- all of you!(with particular super sweet storytelling from the 'bossman'!)

When we get back, I'm going to try and squeeze Impulse in! With all my might, or I will throw up--!

"Abraxas Winterlight" -- I think you could "show/demonstrate" your character much more...effectively...in a roleplay that I hear. Is gooooooood! Hehehe ;)

"DeathsKnight" -- you stoked for the Deadpool movie coming out next year then?

Poor Miss "ChasNicollette" and her...hypens! :)))
