Star Craft 2 RP

There are three races in Star Craft: Terrans (humans), Protoss, and Zerg. Within the Terran race, there are two main factions currently: The Dominion and the Free Planets. The Dominion is the major power among Terrans, but that power is quickly shifting elsewhere. The Free Planets, specifically Haven in this situation, are splinter groups with no formal military to speak of, relying mostly on mercenaries for protection. The Free Planets used to be part of the Dominion, but with a recent scandal involving the Dominion Emperor, Arctrus Mengsk, having come to light, the Free Planets rebelled and drove out the Dominion forces from their worlds. Almost all the Free Planets were on the outskirts of Terran space, where the Dominion's influence and power was weakest.

If your character is with the Dominion, he'll be starting out somewhere other than Haven; most likely some Dominion military base or staging point. However, if you want your character to be more of a mercenary, he can start out on Haven or anywhere else. He'll either be unemployed for the moment or on contract somewhere. Your choice.

And I have a question about your unit: "100 people on its rolls"? What exactly does that mean? 100 Viking units or 100 Viking units including support personel, i.e. 10-20 Viking units + 80 support personel?

Thank you now that was helpful....I will go with being part of the Free Planets since my character is naturally a rebel and frankly he probably wants in on the ground floor of smuggling and everything else corrupt.

And you're correct when you said the latter..perhaps 30 vikings with others in reserve, but no pilots...the personnel that aren't officially there are my reference to the number of strippers/hookers, bartenders, and girlfriends (boyfriends) personnel have taken a long with them.

So, your character is sorta the de facto leader of a rag-tag group of miscreants and/or gypsies, bringing along some pretty fancy hardware and no one to use said hardware? Sounds like fun!

By the way, Vikings are very powerful when used in groups. I would say that 30 of them used in conjunction are more than enough to take down maybe a dozen Battlecruisers in short order with minimal losses. A flight of maybe 5 or 6 Vikings poses a serious threat to one Battlecruiser, and Battlecruisers are the most powerful ship the Terrans have. So, with that in mind, I would suggest using the Vikings in moderation, i.e. small groups, rather than all at once, but it's only a suggestion.

Well thanks for the tactics I will use them, but my character might be as you say he is, but read the description he has pilots, and is a descent fighter himself. The only thing is his sideline is as important as his front line.

Of course. That's what the Protoss are there for. Now, bring it down! The ultralisk I mean. :)

hahaha sure, that new armor sure is handy :) but still i messed up with the siege tanks position... but since they are now in the secondary position, then everything will be going good... btw... casualty reports...

32 marines....

18 died... youch... major bad

btw... the security forces AND militia haven't joined the fight yet... but death... feel free to help johnson out...

I'm thinking that with the holes the Immortals are punching in the ultralisks, one or two shells apiece from the tanks should do the trick. As for the rest of the Zerg, the thermal lances from the Colossi are causing more than a few to suddenly burst into flame from time to time. And the Dark Templar are slicin' and dicin' away. And that one Dark Templar is going to stay relatively close to Michael; close enough to kill any unnoticed Zerg that get too close but not close enough for it to be really obvious that he's there. But then again, that whole incident of the ultralisk slamming into something invisible before it could reach Michael has got to let Michael know that he's got some help, even if he doesn't know what it is.

Just saw the post. Interesting.

By the way, like I said earlier, there are 2 Immortals, 5 Dark Templar, and a Colossus on each flank, all of them doing pretty much the same thing. The Immortals are working on the ultralisks, the Dark Templar and Colossi working on the smaller critters. So in a way, Johnson does have some help, he just doesn't know it. Unless you're referring to DK, in which case he's falling behind.

i know that they are there, hence the reference to the zerg being killed farther away than they should. the charred remains of zergs corpses, i'll leave AFTER the battle.

Which reminds me, i really should consider putting a cloaking and infrared for the prototype suits. and those two are the only ones available... except for a third prototype that DOESN'T have anything useful yet (Gabe). so finally, everything is coming together... but don't worry... the marines will leave city hall in the capable hands of the militia... while they run to save the governor who DID not go to the shelter but instead went somewhere else :D

Type up Gabe doing what he does best: killing Zerg. He's welcome to notice a few odd anomalies, such as zerglings or hydralisks being sliced or blown apart by something that isn't there.

will do my best. I only have seven fingers to type with so it will go slow. Lost an argument with my car gate and have one finger taped up and using the ring and little finger to type with on my left hand LOL :D

Oww. Well, at least you're not doing the hunt-'n'-peck thing with one finger on each hand.

I'm deadly with two fingers on each hand, but it's not as comfy as using your whole hand

Is it OK if Gabe leads a squad to help Johnson and then gets called back to City Hall when the Hybrid shows up? Or should he stay at City Hall?

Just a quick note, Terran ground troops do not use energy weapons. Only select spaceships do. Standard issue weapon for Marines is the C-14 Gauss Rifle, essentially an assault rifle on steroids. It's big and bulky, but Marines live by it. The C-14 uses a series of magnetic fields to accelerate solid metal projectiles to hyper-velocity speeds. While never specified, I would guess that the C-14 is powered by the internal power source in the Marine's suit, while ammo comes from either belts or mags.

However, seeing as how your character DK is currently not a Marine and is using a weapon from the armory of a back-water world, I would guess that Gabe is pretty much using the equivalent of an AK-47. Powered guns are too costly to maintain and "old style" ammo is probably dirt cheap.

You don't have to change anything, I'm just providing my own perspective. I seem to be doing that a lot recently.

Oh. I read about a plasma rifle somewhere. I'll just change it to magazines, no sweat

Alright anything more to clear up or change? How do we begin roleplaying this thread..

If you have anything to post that is relevant to what have happened so far or if you want to start a different angle then you just post it.

Lans or Jedi would tell you what you did wrong LOL :D

Um, nothing more that I can think of, Jag.

As for how you begin, you simply step into the role of your character and write about what he's doing, either from the first or third person perspective. I would suggest with starting your character on the Agria moon where Sword's character is, and interact with him for awhile; he is kinda lonely over there. :)

If you have any questions about how to proceed, simply ask. We can give you hints and information about the Star Craft universe, but ultimately, what you do with your character is up to you.

come on... there are only...

Jagged

in this thread... although it would be hard for anyone else to join in, i guess.... :D

which reminds me...

jedi? any ideas for the dominion??? and i cant start the next part of the confrontation without Jedi's post... i still have to move the marines to the location of the governor BEFORe i can post the arrival of the hybrid. btw, death. great post :) also, it would really be hard not to notice a very large zerg-protoss hybrid that towers over everyone :) but it suits me. im just waiting for the post of jedi before i can continue my end

btw, i read the thread from start to finish... it really reads like a darn book lolz

And I don't have a single line of dialog. lol Amazing how I managed that.

Ideas for the Dominion? Not at the moment, but once I get something to work with, I'll have ideas.

And I'll have my post up before I go to bed tonight, so within the next few hours.

Yay finally praise from a master!

Now I don't feel half as bad :D

This being a more Zerg-like Hybrid it will just be able to absorb a lot of firepower, so I'm just going to write the battle leaving the origins for you guys to handle as you are clearly more up to date with the StarCraft universe than I am if that is OK with you guys?
