I'm so sorry to hear about Chas, I really enjoyed writing with her. I hope to get to do it again.

What exactly does an XO do? (pardon the noobness, i just watched the shows, not analysed them)

Lavinda met Spock and crew about mid-way through their tour, and joined starfleet about five years later. She graduated 2 yrs ago (it was a difficult learning process for her)

So I suppose, what were the stardates then? And when are we now? Sorry to ask.

Well the original series started roughly around the year 2266.

The Next Generation started in 2364.

Voyager ended in 2377.

Nemesis took place in 2379.

And from what Amen had told me before our current year is 2384.

The XO, Executive Officer, is basically the captain's right hand. The XO runs the ship, seeing that orders are specifically carried out. The XO advises the captain on matters of the ship in all facets. The XO is also the immediate supervisor for the department heads, and is charged with staffing and tasking each department. The XO is the second-in-command.

Wait.... did next gen start about 100 yrs after TOS did? I didnt think it was that much of a gap.

Anyway, I think I'll slot Lavinda in somewhere 2310 (more towards the end of tour) - Joining starfleet about 2315 - giving her about 40 years in the academy (she never felt right about leaving and had to relearn a lot about social interaction) - spent an internment on Vulcan for about 10 years - and then probably off to inactive duty for some time - so that the Arizona is her first official station.

Is that alright with everybody? Did I do it right?

Yeah that is about a 100 years. A little over from the start of their missions.
Supposedly Trek VI takes place in the late 2280 or early 2290s

Hey Guys! I'm posting this up in other threads too, but I just want to apologise for mine and Angelus's absences the past couple of weeks.

some family things came up and while we've been able to check in here, usually we're too stressed to think of anything to write. Sorry! and don't expect too much in the next week either cos of Easter. sorry guys for holding things up but we'll be back, we can promise you that much.

No, its not dead. At least I still have hope. Only one storyline should be held up - Amen's and Angelus's - but everybody elses should still be going. As I remember, in the beginning of this thread we could all RP together without much problem. We didn't necessarily need somebody else's storyline.

so,those that are waiting for Angelus to post that are not concerned with his storyline, I invite you to come back and post. I for one was enjoying exploring my character.

Let's continue.
