HISTORY

Miguel and his twin were born while his father and mother were serving on the USS Galaxy. Being typical Starfleet bratts they roamed around the Fedeation with their parents, as they went from assingment to assignment. Miguel and his brother Jose entered Starfleet Academy at the age of seventeen. Miguel had always been fascinated by what how starships worked as a child he would build model starship engines that were as acurate as possible. So it was no surprise when he decided to devote himself to engineering. Miguel graduated from the Academy in 2378.

One of the highlights of his academy days was during his third year, he participated in the field study program at the San Francisco ShipYards orbiting Earth. Upon his graduation in 2378 he was assigned to the U.S.S. Excalibur as a mission specialist. For two years he worked as hard if not harder then most of his peers. For his hard work he was given a promotion to Lieutenant (j.g.) and reassigned to the U.S.S. Discovery as an Assistant Chief of Operations. A year later he was promoted to full Lieutenant and was made the Discovery's Chief of Operations upon the retirement of his mentor Commander Jeffery Jordon. For the next three years Miguel served as the Chief of Operations of the Discovery, exploring space and helping to expand man's knowledge of the universe. During his time on the Discovery Miguel was decorated twice for bravery, and received several citations for his engineering feats. In 2384 he accepted a post on board the U.S.S. Arizona as the ship's Chief Operations officer with the rank of Lt. Commander.

PERSONALITY PROFILE

Commander Torres is a talented and competent Human male whose Starfleet career has prompted Starfleet to take notice of this officer.

His overall psychological testing has proven his ability as a calm level headed officer who remains keenly aware of all situations that surround him.

It is therefore the recommendation of this panel that this highly decorated officer be advanced in rank as warranted and moved into a Command position where it is the opinion of this panel he will excel with ease. He will be a valuable asset to any superior ranked officer. In addition, his well-rounded understanding of Starship Operations and Engineering and his knowledge of Starfleet regulations and ship protocol makes him an ideal candidate for a command position someday.

Miguel is a nice, friendly, easy going guy, he is an extremely driven individual. When he believes that something can be done when others don't, he will not stop until he proves them wrong. He is very logical for a human, even if he does allow emotion to sometimes interfere with his judgement.

Yeah, let's use the "book idea".

Never, ever, no matter what, under any circumstances should you beam down to the planet's surface wearing a red shirt.

What about a red book? :: totally innocent! ::

I heard there's a good one from Westmarch I could probably utilise.

(Teehee, boys are silly.)

In any case, thanks to y'all for being forgiving of my blunder.

:: DIES LAUGHING ::

I was gonna say "what The Chief is cooking," but that works even better!

Well he maybe the Chief Operations, but the Lt. Commander is alsol third in command. Like Data was.

And for those that asked.... Nothing is cooking.... at least not yet ;) *gives the people eyebrow.

(Except in Chicago, IL.)

Also, second officer!

The best thing obout Star Trek..

T'Pol. *Droolss..*

Final Answer.... :p

Second best thing....

Seven of Nine walking away.... *pant pant*

Let us not forget our favorite half Klingon half human engineer, anytime she got sweaty or wore leather.

i can still use a post-it note & a back slap tho!

As another aside, this is in the Next gen/DS9/Voyager time? Hell, you planning on slapping that post it note on your XO? In this era Red is Command. It's the "Yellow shirts" that are things like security;).

Thanks for the invite, Amen, that's really cool of you. My posting schedule is as unpredictable as always.

I miss my Twi'lek....

Anyway, should I make up a character, I reserve the right to play a Psychic/empath/telekinetic.... erm... alien.... thingy... appropriately smart and sexy. He he :D

I'm loving the convo in this OOC: Even if I don't join, mind if I tag along? It brings back so many good memories....

and...

DATA ROCKS!!!

Oh btw? Is anybody as excited and anxious to see the new Star Trek movie? I think they just might do a good job of it. Unless they wanted to be lynched, that is....

obligatory "I'm a doctor..." joke! Every star trek themed show/rp/book/novelty pair of boxers needs one!

But yes. I must say. This non-ic bit is turning out to be quite the fun little read! Sure, I don't post much in here, but that's mostly because half the time I'm chuckling away, and the other half I'm looking for a witty reply which, alas, do not come often enough
