Star Trek: The New Adventures

He only got a short glimpse. He noticed that you still have implants, and you have very little inflection or emotion in your speech. further information will be gained once he has a sit-down with Nine.
(if you haven't noticed, Jace is a Starfleet version of a profiler, & he has a photographic & editic memory. Served hom very well when he was in Intellegence.

Facial scarring and an eidetic memory.

:: grinning :: ...don't think I hadn't noticed. (Some kind of crazy coincidence, perhaps?)

And by the way?

I'm smitten with y'all.

With all y'all.

:heart::eek::heart:

I have a stupid question.

Do you actually have a Ships Councilor onboard? I can't remember, I've been grinning and going down memory lane so much I can't remember who is what and what role they have right now.

Anyway, I'd be willing to take on the role - with a suitable species of course.

I've got the Orion Bakeep/ ASSISTANT councillor, but I'd be glad to have a for real and true Military boss;).

Yeah I really like your character - she's.... different. She's a woman and she knows it. Its a great read. It'd be interesting to roleplay with you :D

As per your most recent post, AmenRa, would Emerson be considered a departmental officer? You never see a whole lot of the second-in-command of each particular department to my knowledge, but it's better to be sure than make a post that needs to be edited/deleted.

And if I wasn't smitten with Chas before, reading your flashback post definitely did it. You. Are amazing. <3 XD Qapla!

Amen, am I included in that?

(we really haven't gone over where my guy ranks in the command structure)

The idea here is for the dept. heads and senior staff to receive the briefing info and then go back and share it with their commands. Like in your case, Nine of Nineteen would brief the security teams. However, in most cases, because some dept. have so many sub-depts., the senior enlisted and officer staff of these sub-groups would go, too.

You and Milkman would probably both need to come, since the security teams are fairly large, and also includes the Hazard Team.

I think Engineering would be represented by the Chief Engineer, with the Operations Officer handling the other divisions.

However, if the Chief Engineer decided to bring an assistant to the briefing, there's nothing wrong with that at all.

Since it seems that Wyld has no objection to help in the ship's counselor idea, I'd be more than happy to have you aboard.

I'm sure, in time, everyone will be needing some serious counseling.

(If we don't already!).

Councellor my ass, I got all the free beer the replicator can crank out!

on a more setious note, you realize with my characters background you have two Tactical Officers, and a intelligence analyst and counterintellegence specialist for free because I am now just the Assistant Security Officer.

Yeah, and we're going to need them both very soon.

And the replicator also makes bourbon, too!

By the sound of things, it's lucky that my character has two livers.

:: laughing :: ...with all the alcohol flowing freely from the replicators, it sounds like she's going to need both of them.

:: bows delightedly, grinning ::

Thank you, sweets. I had a lot of fun writing it, that's for sure.

Though, rereading it, I managed to squeeze in a couple of big-butt plot holes. Maybe a plot-chasm. Maybe I'll do a follow-up flashback if I get enough material together.

(Sorry if I've bogarted the mic overmuch, you guys. Just the idea struck me and I couldn't help but cobble it together, you know how it goes.)

Anyway. Thank you, sweets.

Qapla'!

it was brilliant, like you always are!

:: huggles tightly :: You're too kind, like you always are.

And, um, it may or may not be worth pointing out that, while it's mentioned that Kahlest was wearing a Klingon baldric in the flashback, she's not wearing it in the "present day."

She's eschewed it for the same reason Klingons in the Imperial Navy often (though not always) eschew their baldrics when they are promoted from Commander to Captain: she doesn't feel the need to prove herself anymore. At least, not nearly so much.
