Star Trek: The New Frontiers (IC)

Captain Torres- Sickbay

*I am able to comunicate Mind to Mind without you needing the same capability.* S’H’ara replied. It was amazing the number of civilized species that didn't have this ability. She'd have to have this species to that list.

Shift position on the biobed she faced him more evenly, the state of her undress intensly obvious as she did so, her wings shifting slightly in counterpoint to her body mass.

*How long have you possessed intersteller travel?* She asked her curiosity peeked, *Do you possess species from other worlds or just your own?* It was uncommon for multiple species of life to achieve dominance on one planet, but it wasn't unheard of.

"We've been capable of intersteller travel for 337 years now. The Federation is made up of some 200 worlds, spanning just over 9,000 light-years. We all work together to advance our knowledge of the universe for the sake of our members." He answered. But he was also curious about her. "What about you? What species are you, were do you come from?"

Doyle - Bridge/sickbay

The collision came quickly and because of her rank, Marigold Doyle was on the Bridge when it happened. She was rocked from her seat and violently thrown across the large space, hitting her head on a side panel. Though she suffered only a minor concussion, she was out like a light for a few moments.

When she came to, the Bridge was in chaos, nurses running around and administering to the injured. Several, she saw, were dead and of the Captain there was no sign. As she scrambled to her feet, the world tilting at an odd angle, she vaguely felt the bite of the hypospray and her head cleared. She looked at the nurse assisting her and nodded her thanks, indicating that she should move on to other, less fortunate patients.

Then she rose fully and began making her way to the med deck. She heard reports on her Comm as she shakily made her way there. Seems like something crashed into the ship - and someone (an alien) had made it aboard. Her curiosity piqued, she entered Sickbay.

As she made her way to the small room where S'H'ara was being kept, she quietly observed the interaction, her professionalism coming over her again. She kept quiet and made no move to announce her presence.

"We've been capable of interstellar travel for 337 years now. The Federation is made up of some 200 worlds, spanning just over 9,000 light-years. We all work together to advance our knowledge of the universe for the sake of our members." He answered. But he was also curious about her. "What about you? What species are you, were do you come from?"

*My species is called Ansibian. Homeworld of Ansibia. Fourth planet in our star cluster. Our society has a conglomeration.. an association.. of star systems.

Miguel nodded "I am Human, and I come from a world called Earth." he told her and then motioned towards his first officer. "This is Commander T’Ker, she comes from a world known as Vulcan. And you've already met our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Hagen. He actually has a duel heritage, one parent comes from a Federation world known as Betazed, and the other world is known as Romulus." he said trying to show her of the inclusive nature of the Federation. "What were you doing out here, so far from your world, all alone?" he asked. He knew he was assuming the part about her being so far away from her home, but it seemed only logical.

*Scouting. That is my function. My duty. I categorize worlds, Stars, Black holes, Dark Matter, Objects in space. You share biogeneteic matter with the one called T'Ker. And she shares biogenetic matter with the one called Hagen.* S'H'ara replied with a quizzical tone to her thoughts. *Do you share a family genome?*

"No we don't, however we some of the Commander's ancestors came from my world. And some of the Doctor's ancestors originally came from the Commander's homeworld." He replied. He was quite surprised that she had been able to tell that without any devices. "How could you tell that much about us without some sort of scanning device?"

S’H’ara Ægeri (Alien Scout) & Captain Miguel Torres - Medical Bay

*My arm guards are a portable scanning unit. Similar in composition to my vessel, but obviously much smaller in nature.*

"I didn't see you look at anything, how did you gather the information?" he asked, but he was already thinking that the possible answer was that the devices somehow directly transmitter the information directly to her mind. The other thing that bothered him was that they weren't detected by the ship's internal sensors, much like her ship. Which would indicate some sort of advanced stealth technology.

*Telepathic communication. And a passive scan. It detects ambient energy, on multiple wave frequencies. The processing power is generated by my biosignature and transmitted directly to my mind. I perceive the data as a spectral image that overlays everything around me. I could show you if you desire this. It would require physical contact for this to be properly viewed.*

Miguel had to admit he was curious. Seeing the data in his mind instead of through a tricorder sounded like a rush to him. "By all means." he told he nodded to Commander T'Ker to lower the force field so he could enter the surgical area.

Even as T'Ker was turning to deactivate the field S'H'ara walked through it, a light shimmering taking place as she moved. Moving forward she stopped with her hand raised, several inches from his face as a guard raised a weapon towards her.

Miguel motioned for the guard to lower his weapon. If she had wanted to harm any of them she would have done so by now. But to say he wasn't surprised by her ability to just walk through the force field was surprising to say the least. He leaned forward to allow her to touch his face.

S’H’ara Ægeri (Alien Scout) & Captain Miguel Torres - Medical Bay

Finishing the contact the alien pilot filtered the information from her psi-imager and relayed it to the Captain. Opening her eyes she looked around the room, then closed them. Allowing him to see that she was able to tell the distance to a nurse, species, Betazed, that was standing behind her. Every motion made in the room. Every piece of data. Heart rates, Genome strains. Body temperatures. Nerve pulse patterns. As well as a multitude of other things. Height, weight, hair and eye color. Gender. The fact that the gravity well of the ship was less than a third of what she was used to. A subprocessor calculated the Guards reaction times and determined she had a 97.9978643 percent chance of removing his weapon before he could react. Another piece of data relayed was more indicative that she found the Captain rather interesting.. possibly even attractive. For a ground walker.

It was more then the Captain could have imagined. It reminded him of the first time he had seen the fire-falls on Romulus. You go into it expecting one thing, but it's so much better then what he had expected. So much that he really didn't have any words hot to describe what he was seeing. "Incredible!" was all he could say, but really even that was inadequate. "Your people are obviously quite advanced."

*I'm sure the Curia would appreciate your views. They will wish to make contact with your species. Your gathering of world systems. Your Federation. As soon as I am able I should contact them so that a more formal meeting can be arranged. It is seldom that a species attains the level of technology to travel the starlight pathways on it's own.*

S’H’ara Ægeri (Alien Scout) & Captain Miguel Torres - Medical Bay

"The Curia?" he asked her, though he was guessing that was either her superiors or her government.. Although he was also fascinated by her saying that so few species attain interstellar travel on their own. Granted in his experience some took longer then others. Were things that different where she came from. This was definitely going to make for an interesting report.

*Curia. The ruling council of Elders. They oversee the association of systems. At least those that have elected to join the association. Do you delegate authority based on Gender?* she asked.

"No. Authority on a starship, and for the most part in the Federation, is achieved through experience and accomplishment." he told her. "As of right now your ship is still lodged in our hull. It cause quite a bit of damage, so we're having some difficulties. Once we've removed it, we'll bring it into one of our shuttlebays. Then when the Doctor clears you to leave sickbay, you can access your vessel. I would very much like to meet your people." he told her with a smile. Up ‘til now he had been able to focus on other things, but now he had taken all of her in, and he had to admit she was very attractive. Even though she reminded him from something out of Earth mythology.

*I am sorry I impacted your vessel. But you were not transmitting on any known frequency. As for departure from your medical facilities. I don't believe your people are capable from preventing me. If I wished. Although with your apparently level of technology, I'm surprised I wasn't killed.*

S’H’ara Ægeri (Alien Scout) & Captain Miguel Torres - Medical Bay

"Either way, I ask you to stay here until the Doctor has deemed you healed. Which according to him shouldn't be that much longer anyway." he said.

*Very well. Once your Medicine Man has cleared me as not being a danger to you or your crew, or myself, I'll assist you in moving mey vessel from your hull. Also, I would ask that you do not try to enter my vessel.*

"Agreed." he said, in truth he didn't think they would even know how to use her ship if they tried. From what it sounded, her technology was far superior. And yet she had mentioned surprise that Chimera wasn't transmitting on any known frequency, which indicated to him that perhaps they were aware of at least something’s that her people weren't. "Well you should get back to the bed before the Doctor gets upset with me for keeping you off your feet to long. If you need anything all you have to do is ask any of the staff."

*Food would be appreciated. If I can't return to my ship I'll need sustenance.* And for some beings the imagery she was allowing through would be rather disheartening. She needed her food.... alive.

"We don't carry live food on ship I'm afraid. Do you have a supply on board yours?"

*Yes. I can make do with food that is already dead, but it is less than.. palatable..*

"We'll try and make sure you don't have to do to long without. If you'll excuse me I have other duties to attend to." Miguel said and then turned around. He motioned for Commander T’Ker, the Doctor, and the Counselor who had recently joined them to follow him. He was hoping that S’H’ara Ægeri's telepathy only worked on line of sight, so he wanted to get them out of her line of sight, which meant to go to the Doctor's office.

Doctor's Office - Cpt. Torres, Comm T'Ker, Doctor Hagan, Counselor

Shrugging S'H'ara returned to sitting on the biobed, as Commander A'Lex T'Ker turned and followed the Captain.

"Yes, Captain?" A’Lex asked once they were in the Doctor's Office.

Once they had entered the Doctor's office Miguel looked at all of them. "Did all of you hear what she had to say, or was she just transmitting to me?" He asked them. Since in truth he had no idea. However if she hadn't it would be a simple matter to brief them on what she had said.

"I heard her comments as well. I'm not sure what her range is, but she's at least skilled enough to communicate clearly to more than one individual."

"First things first. She mentioned that our people probably wouldn't be able to stop her. Commander T'Ker, I want heavy gravity worlders around her at all times. She seems stronger and faster then ordinary humans, so if she is a danger to this ship I want people that might be able to deal with her guarding her. Set their weapons to our heaviest stun setting for now." Mack told her. "Doctor, your job is of course to help her get better, but also I want to know how to take her down if need be. And Counselor I want you to observe her, either from here in the Doctor's office or from your own. With her being a telepath, she might be able to read your thoughts and there goes all we planned for." he said giving out a set of orders.

He then exhaled "Now, what were your impressions of her?" he asked wanting to hear what they all had to say but not saying who should go first.

"She seems to be selecting the words she uses and broadcasts carefully. Either from newness to our minds and not wishing to offend us. Or from deliberate deception. Her lack of clothing will be an issue with male members of the crew." T’Ker replied. "I'll Inform security to use Klingons and Vulcan's around her."

Doyle - Doctor's office

Mari observed quietly, though her entry into the situation was duly noted by both the captain and the newly found alien. She found herself quiet curious, as she always was upon meeting a new individual. She also found it slightly hard to adjust to the woman's mode of speech. That was, telepathy. It was something she had wished since childhood she could have, but her brain wasn't quite right for it. Or so some people thought. Her energy waves just weren't cut out to be used in such a fashion.

And so it was always a fascinating thing when somebody spoke into her mind. She followed both the captain's outspoken words and the telepath's replies. She was silently impressed at the intelligence of the creature but wondered why both the captain and S'H'ara were so forth coming about their species and the like.

Once settled, and once the commander had spoken, Mari said, "Captain, I am concerned about the amount of information you are allowing her to have. Yes, she seems friendly enough, but we have no idea her capabilities. She may be able to read minds as well - after all, she is a scout. And if her race is anything like ours, scouts had to have been trained to extract information, with any means at their disposal." She nodded to T'Ker, "We should also filter her guards to those that can adequately shield their minds - it might not work, but its worth a try."

She voiced her opinion on S'H'ara's trust issues too, she seemed too forth coming and she expressed her views on what type of information she should gain about the Federation. "This is an exciting new species and the possibilities for an alliance are alluring, but until we know about her, I suggest caution."

Then she turned to Hagen, "I would like the use of your office for my duties, Doctor. I think it would be best if I were here, rather than my quarters. I'm sorry," she said apologetically, "But our appointments will have to wait."

Dr. Alex Hagen, CMO’s Office Sickbay
Alex nodded and thought over the entire situation. The alien was still in the isolation lab but her actions had already proven that standard security measures wouldn’t be adequate of course.

“Well sir, my impressions? She’s a scout, advanced society. Her biology is foreign to me, but she basically boils down to any carbon based life form. Her wounds won’t be hard to treat. As for keeping her immobile…” Alex shrugged for a moment “that’s a security issue. So far she has not shown any hostility to me or any member of my team. I do not believe that she would be a problem, but as her technology has indicated, she is potentially…”

Alex left that hang in the air for a moment “And Captain, will all due respect,
I’m a doctor sworn to do no harm. I cannot in good conscious devise a way to ‘take her down’ as u put it.” He said as he reached for a pad and handed it to the captain.

“This is the full medical scans and records of procedures done on the patient so far. She still has wounds to be treated.” Alex said as he stepped back to let the next person on the list make her report

When he was spoken to by the councilor he turned and nodded his head “Of course, Councilor. Make yourself at home. And we’ll have to schedule a rain check. “He said as he stepped around his desk and began to file his notes, working on his computer and logging in what new data he was able to retrieve from the scanners in the recordings of interview.

Alex had overheard the telepathic communication and had to admit he hadn’t exactly heard a song like the alien’s before. It was beautiful in its simplicity, but his instincts were telling him something. She was hiding something.
Perhaps something big, perhaps something small, but buried beneath careful training and ability something was amiss.

But Alex hid these feelings inside of him, buried deep in his own psyche just in case he was wrong. What she was hiding would be discovered soon. Instead he focused on the tangible, the brainwaves and chemical reactions that occurred when the alien was speaking telepathically.

As he was collating the data his personal com beeped and he answered it professionally. “Hagen here, go ahead.”

Immediately he heard crying in the background and his eyes snapped to the view screen. A moment of loss control as his heart dropped a few stories. The view screen filled with a nurse who stared at him

‘Sir, Nurse Collins reporting from the school. Minor injuries, nothing serious. Just a lot of scared kids. “

Alex nodded and looked at her, not speaking. The question was obvious to everyone on both sides of the link.

Nurse Collins, to her credit, nodded and stepped aside. In the background was a young golden haired girl sitting beside another who was holding her knee and crying. Alex breathed again as the Nurse stepped back into the picture “She’s fine, Sir. We found her taking care of the other kids… Well... Trying to...” Collins said.

Alex nodded and smiled “You all done there, Nurse?”

“Yes sir, we are moving on. I just thought you would like to get this report personally.”

Alex nodded and smiled. “Thank you. Hagen out.” He said as he clicked off the communicator and sat down, breathing a small deep breath and closing his eyes. A very quick wandering…

‘Daddy! Are you okay Daddy?’

‘I’m fine honey, Are you okay?’

‘I’m okay… can I come see you?’ The hopeful telepathic voice begged eagerly.

‘I’m sorry Honey, Daddy has to work. Just stay where you are and you will be okay.’

‘Okay daddy! I’m trying to help people like you do!!!’ She said excitedly.

Alex had to smile ‘Good girl! Keep it up honey.’

‘Okay daddy.’

‘Kara?’

‘Yes daddy?’

‘I’m proud of you’

‘I love you too daddy!’

The entire exchange took less than a second before Alex opened his eyes and smiled with paternal pride. He looked up to see the councilor looking down at him with a soft inquisitive look. Alex immediately smothered his parental smile with his professional look. Time to get back to work, he told himself. He had made sure to do his duty and not even consider the safety of his daughter until after the crisis was over.

He hadn’t sent down the nurse to personally check on his daughter, but every member of the medical staff knew of her and they all knew that he would appreciate any word. And he did, immensely

Alex Allowed himself only a moment of relief before he threw himself back in.

He rose and stepped out of the office and into the isolab. “Hello again, S'H'ara”
He smiled as he raised his scanners and ran them over his wounds, his eyes dancing over her flawless red skin before going back to his scanner. He reached over and prepared a hypo “I have a shot of antibiotics for you, it should keep you from an infection while you are her…” He said as he prepared to inject her with it.

Doyle - Doctor's office

Mari nodded when the doctor spoke and retrieved her PADD, something she always carried with her. No matter how bulky it got. Getting comfortable, she found a chair and linked her PADD through the security systems watching the alien. Looking down at the screen, she noted that S'H'ara wasn't doing anything interesting at the moment. She looked to be resting, like Hagen had told her to.

When the communication came through, along with anyone else, Doyle listened in. When she saw that Kara was indeed alright, her heart warmed for Hagen and she found herself smiling. A second later, he was doing the same thing. It was the prideful grin of a father and it only took Mari a moment to realise that they had been communicating.

As he turned to look at her, she tried to keep the curiosity from her face, but obviously failed as he seemed to shake himself and become professional again. Without another word, he left and she watched him enter S'H'ara's room through the PADD. Switching a sound unit on, she watched as he prepared to administer some antibiotics - mentally catalogueing both S'H'ara's and Hagen's outward responses.

S’H’ara Ægeri (Alien Scout) & Doctor Alex Hagan - Medical Bay

*I would appreciate not being injected with whatever chemicals you have in that thing. They may react badly with my physiognomy."

Alex looked down at the hypospray and looked back up at S'H'ara. "These are standard antibiotics for any infection, if these will harm you, I won't inject u with them but I would very much like to know what kind of medicines can be used to assist in your healing."

*Live food will help the most. But I’ve already been informed you don't possess any such thing aboard your vessel. As for chemicals. I'm a surveyor, not an Apothecarion.*

Alex settled into a seated position on the medbed beside her and listened for a moment "Apothecarion? You mean doctor. Surely you much have a medical kit onboard though for emergencies?"

*My vessel contains on onboard medical suite. It's used for emergencies.* She replied. *Apothecarion. One who treats injuries.*

“Of course. Is it possible I could see this Medical Suite at some point, once you are cleared to move about? I am very curious about your specie's medical capabilities.

*if you wish we could see my vessel now. It would be easier to move it now. Before it begins to settle into place.* S'H'ara suggested.

S’H’ara Ægeri (Alien Scout) & Doctor Alex Hagan - Medical Bay

Alex looked at the other officers and then back at S'H'ara. "I'm afraid we can't visit the vessel right now. the ship is still in a state of crisis and as the Chief medical officer My duty is to stay here until we have stepped down our emergency level" He said with a smile. It was only a half lie. It was true in the fact that it was his duty to stay in sickbay, but the real reasons why he couldn't leave were something entirely different.

*I understand,* she said to his mind. *Do you know how long this situation will last? It seems as if part of the problem is my vessel being in your hull.*

Alex nodded "It certainly is, and we would have to see about employing your help, removing your vessel from our ship..." Alex said, loudly enough for the captain to notice before turning back to the alien "But at the moment your ship is not putting ours in too much danger and the health of our crew and visitors are paramount." Alex said as he removed the hypo and offered her a padd "I'm afraid we cannot replicate life food, but if you know any kinds of nutrients that you specifically need you can use this padd to design them so that our replicators can attempt to create them for you

*The nutrients my body requires is available only from the consumption of live food. I am able to subsist on non-live food for a short duration, but it isn't.. appetizing.*

"But what is it about the live food that will sustain u better than the non live food?"

*Live food contains a bioelectric pulse. An energy. It passes quickly upon death and becomes less than appealing.*

"You're speaking about psionic energy, Correct? I'm surprised, that is highly theoretical in our society"

S’H’ara Ægeri (Alien Scout) & Doctor Alex Hagan - Medical Bay

*I don't know the words. As I said, I'm not an Apothecarion. Live food is what everyone in my species consumes.*

"I see..." Alex said, making notes on his padd. " I do wish we could provide live food for you but all of our foodstuffs are dead and we rely mostly on our replicator and ration systems on this ship."

Alex thought for a minute "Hmm... Maybe there is a way we can get something in here for you using our current technology..." he said as he pulled out a new padd and began working on some things " Approximately how much protein would you require?

Reaching out S'H'ara touched the side of the Doctor's face, implanting an image of a creature about the size of a large wolf. To bad the creature had 6 legs, and enough teeth to rip the hide off a Klingon. Black scale like hide, and 6 claws on each foot. *Once a week, or less more often.*

Alex was taken aback at the images in his head but shook and coughed a bit, before programming in what she required. He stepped out of the isolab and played his computer, linking it with the holodeck system. The captain stepped over to him "What's going on, Doctor?"

"I'm going to try something, see if we can't get some 'live' food in there for her." He said before he finished his calculations. He looked over at the guards, their weapons at their sides but ready and standing inside the field "officers, can you please exit the field? S'H'ara, I'm going to energize. Tell me when you are ready" Alex said, looking at her for confirmation. if it worked she would have one hell of a fight on her hands.

*I'm ready whenever you are, Apothecarion.*

S’H’ara Ægeri (Alien Scout) & Doctor Alex Hagan - Medical Bay

"It's D.. Never mind... Stand by..." Alex said before he keyed in his commands. "Computer initiate program Doctor Dinner Alpha one. energize." He watched as the computer began it's cycle and looked up as a creature began to form, hideous and vicious looking inside of the isolab. He looked on as the creature finished it's creation cycle and watched as S'H'ara looked at it intently.

In the blink of an eye S’H’ara had shifted her hand and the creature slammed into a wall. Walking up to it she grabbed the creature's foremost legs and held them out of the way. Her jaw opened and she latched onto the creatures neck. Biting hard and deep, blood soaking it's fur and her naked torso as she consumed. The crunch of cartilage and bone was clearly heard through the room as she fed.

Finally she stepped back, the glistening blood dappling her chest and torso, running in rivulets down her legs as she wiped her face. *Bland, but sufficient.*

The corpse of the creature stayed, stuck to the wall for a moment longer before it collapsed, limp and lifeless to the floor.

Alex stared at the vicious beauty before him and watched as the vision of barbarism with wonder and near terror. He had to shake his head out of his reverie as another doctor came to him with a padd. He looked on a the current readouts, noting that her healing had just sped up, her neurotic activities had become hyper accelerated and every fasted of her body had become energized. He just looked up and stepped through the forcefield, stepping over the blood seeping over the deck and bulkhead "Well.. I'm..." He coughed a bit "Pleased that you enjoyed it. According to your scans you are healing even faster. We may be able to get you out of here soon."

S’H’ara Ægeri (Alien Scout) & Doctor Alex Hagan - Medical Bay

Reaching back S'H'ara removed the rudimentary bandage that had been placed over her wound. *My vessel can more than easily finish repairing this damage.*

Alex took the bandage and looked over her wound again "Perhaps, but we have no verification of that. However you are healing nicely so you should be able to return to your ship soon. " he said with a smile before taking one last glance at her and turning to step out of the isolab and join the captain.

"If there is anything else i can do for you please let me or some of my staff know"

*A washing facility would be appreciated. The blood gets sticky as it dries.* She replied, gesturing at the sticky goo that clung to her.

"But of course." Alex said as he turned and opened the field, expanding it to the wash up area of the bay then closing the field down again 'This area is our surgical wash area, Towels are over there and you may use this at your leisure" He said with a smile.

Moving to the new area S'H'ara examined the operation system for several moments before she attempted to touch anything. And even then it took some fumbling before water was spraying her. Cold water.

Jerking back she snarled at the unit and then made some adjustments. When steam began billowing around her she stepped forward again and began washing the blood from herself.

When she was finally done, the Alien scout/pilot moved back to the bed. Sitting on it with the most bored expression possible.

Alex turned and stepped inside his office, looking at the Captain “Captain, we may have her in isolation for some time. It is a wonderful opportunity to study her brain patterns, and if she has something to do with her mind then I could get even more data. Request permission to give her very limited access to our computer, languages and history ect..." Alex requested.

Captain Torres- Sickbay

Miguel simply nodded giving his approval to the Doctor. He wonder about the interaction that had gone on between them. One thing was sure the Doctor seemed to be more than a little taken by his new patient.

He had planned on observing for a few more minutes, however plans changed when he received a call from the bridge.

=/\=Bridge to Captain.=/\=

He tapped his combadge. "Torres here go ahead."

=/\= Sir we're picking up what appears to be a distress signal. =/\=

"What do you mean appears to be?" Miguel asked.

=/\= Well sir the Universal Translator has only translated pieces of it so far. What we were able to determine is the word help and attack. Also what appears to be some coordinates, that are nearby. =/\=

Miguel looked at his first officer, he didn't like the idea of responding to a distress call while his ship was in distress itself. However regulations stated that no distress call will go unanswered. "Keep working on that translation, and take us there at best possible speed."

=/\= Aye, Captain. Course already layed in. ETA is 10 minutes. =/\=

"Understood, Torres out." He said and tapped his combadge again closing the channel. "Doctor, Counselor I'll leave the two of you to handle things here. Doctor prepare for the possibility of addition casualties. Commander T'Ker, looks like we're about to meet some more people." he said as he turned and exited Sickbay, making his way for the nearest turbolit and then the bridge.

Doyle - Doc's office

Mari watched intently, surveying the reaction of S'H'ara more closely than the reactions of the Doctor. She had already surmised the possibility of creating a program on the Holodeck that could deal with the problem of 'live food' but the doc thought of it too and so she waited and watched a the alien devoured her meal.

Silently, she was impressed at the efficiency - but more so terrified at the possibilities S'H'ara posed. Blinking - she raised the audio level to a more comfortable setting and mentally checked off a list in her head. As the alien showered - she noted the reaction to cold water and thought it interesting.

As Hagen entered his office, she allowed him to speak to the captain, noting the com call. It seemed that life on the highly experimental Chimera would always be interesting. Then she took the doc aside, "Hagen, did you note the reaction to cold water? Were you able to sense if it was discomfort, or fear?"

Joint Post - Bridge

Commander A'Lex T'Pol T'Ker - XO - Bridge
Captain Miguel Torres
Tactical Officer – Klingon – Npc

Following the Captain, Commander T’Ker made a mental note to review the Doctor’s file. It seemed rather unusual to not have obtained some sort of clothing for the Alien yet. Unless it was intentionally refusing clothing for some bizarre reason.

***

Miguel looked over to his first officer and could tell that something was on her mind. "Something wrong Commander?"

"Wrong? Not that I am aware of. Unusual, yes."

"Could it be how our guest was still naked?" he asked her. Much the same thoughts had been in his mind, although he had assumed it had to do with those wings on her back. But surely they could have gotten her something to wear by now, if not her own clothing.

"Yes. It may be her cultural preference, but the video feed showed her with clothing. Why has her clothing not been repaired or replaced by now? Is the Doctor intentionally preventing her from being clothed? Or is she?"

"You think maybe she's manipulating him and her state of undress is part of that?" he asked her.

"That is a possibility. Or he is attempting to manipulate her. Although the temperature of the medical facility has been increased by several degrees above standard."

Joint Post - Bridge

Commander A'Lex T'Pol T'Ker - XO - Bridge
Captain Miguel Torres
Tactical Officer – Klingon – Npc

---

"Why would the doctor do that?" he asked her.

"I do not know. I will review his psychological profile. He may have a mental defect."

That was something the Captain couldn't believe. However they should look into everything. "Let me know if you find anything." he told her. He had to admit he felt a bit uncomfortable by the aliens lack of clothing as well. He had accepted long ago that some cultures didn't have the same taboos about nudity as humans did, and he had been in several situations where he had to be naked and surrounded by other naked people. So he knew how to deal with it, but still found it uncomfortable. Especially around someone that was as attractive as their new guest.

“Affirmative, Captain.” Commander T’Ker replied as the turbolift doors opened, revealing the mild chaos of the Bridge before them.

"Report." Miguel asked as he moved over to his chair on the starboard side of the bridge. It was still a bit of a mess from earlier, however most of the debris had already been cleared out and the smoke had been removed thankfully.

The officer in the chair had stood up and turned to face the Captain. "Yes sir, the ship that sent the distress call is currently under attack. We haven't been able to detect any shields due to the pounding they're taking. However they seem to have given nearly as good as they've gotten. The other ship isn't in to good a shape either."

"Hail the ship that sent out the distress call." Miguel ordered.

"Captain, I advise we not interfere." T'Ker stated, her eyes scanning several displays, neither ship was a known configuration. And neither were any star patterns. "Either side may be hostile to us."

"Probably true, however we can't ignore a distress call either. Plus they might be able to tell us where we are." Miguel told her.

"Captain, Armour plating is at Zero percent. Failure to activate. Shielding at thirty-seven percent. Weapon systems are reduced to sixty-three percent. Range to distress beacon Six hundred twelve million kilometers."

Miguel glanced at the display on his chair and nodded. "Anything from the ship yet?" he asked as he looked at the image on the viewer.

"Negative Captain." The Klingon Tactical Officer called out. "Neither ship appears to have registered our presence, yet."

"What's the status of both ships?"

"The ship transmitting the beacon has no functioning shielding. Engines are off-line. Attacking vessel has minimal shielding.. and engines are building up. They may be going critical, or preparing for a massive energy burst."

"Well at least we're a little better off then they are." he muttered to himself. "I need to know for sure if that's an energy burst or if they're engines are going critical." Miguel ordered. He was prepared to defend the weaker ship if needed, but he would try and save them both as well.

"Captain, I’m receiving a message." The Comm officer stated. "Patching it through."

हम P'Rotek, इस संबंध में हस्तक्षेप नहीं कर रहे हैं.

Tapping several control on her own console, T'Ker looked up. "The Universal translator can't lock on."

The UT hadn't heard this language yet so it would take awhile before it could determine what they were saying. However it was clear to Miguel that it was coming from the ship that was pressing its attack since they had rather easily translated the other ship's distress call. "Return hail. This is Captain Miguel Torres of the Federation starship Chimera. We're responding to a distress call, and mean no harm. We're willing to offer our assistance to both ships. Send that." he ordered

Varshanka: One ship simply sat in space, the other vessel fired a beam of energy that split the weakened vessel in half from stem to stern then turned on a tri-spatial access and reoriented, facing the Federation starship.

Minor explosions and pieces drifted from the now nearly destroyed vessel.

हम P'Rotek रहे हैं, तुम नष्ट हो जाएगा.

"Captain.. A suggestion." T'Ker said.

"Commander?"

"The Alien. She has Telepathic capability with multiple individuals simultaneously. She may be able to communicate, or at least identify them."

"Have her brought to the bridge." he told his first officer. "and just in case let's go to yellow alert. raise the shields, standby weapons."

"All hands. yellow Alert." T’Ker stated, calm and clear. Vulcan stoicism obvious as she gave orders. Yellow lights flashing as Stage yellow klaxon’s ripped through the ship.

"Doctor Hagan, bring the alien to the bridge. Immediately. CEAR to the Bridge."

CMO Alex Hagen, Sickbay

Alex looked up at the councilor and thought for a minute, searching his memories and answering her question. “Discomfort, Councilor. How would you feel if you were hit by a blast of near freezing water?”

He asked with a grin as he looked down at his desk and reviewed his reports. His suspicions were right; the clothes contained the same material that would have prevented his medical scans and treatment. Even worse, the clothes when coupled with the armband became a strong protective armor, a technology he had never seen before. Such a technology would prove to be an extreme risk if they had to take her down.

Alex grinned as he felt the uneasiness of the crew around him, the suspicions that he had lost it a bit for keeping his patient naked, but he certainly had his reasons and with a flash of his fingers, he had transmitted his data and suspicions directly to the captain and first officer.

He knew that he had to keep everything buried in the deepest darkest point of his mind to keep them hidden from the Alien, and couldn’t risk telling anyone until the scans were complete. He Shook his head and began to reproduce her clothing in the replicator databanks. He was still working when the yellow alert klaxons began to ring in the sickbay. A moment later he received a communication over his com badge

"Doctor Hagan, bring the alien to the bridge. Immediately. CEAR to the Bridge."

“Acknowledged>” Hagen said as he stepped over to the replicator and retrieved the clothes. He stepped into the isolation lab with the clothes in his hands and placed them on the table.

“I’m sorry to interrupt you, but the captain is calling for you on the bridge. I’ve been ordered to take you up there.”

USS Chimera - Bridge

Walking onto the bridge under escort S'H'ara looked around. The seating arrangement made no sense at all. Why was everyone facing the walls? The big central screen was off center, and the Captain didn't have a raised Command chair. Weird.

Moving forward she approached the male Captain and his pointy eared underling. Was she his mate? she wondered.

Miguel turned to face the crimson alien. "We seem to be having some problems communicating with the race of that ship." He said point at the vessel that appeared on the main viewer. "We were hoping that maybe with your telepathy you could possibly let them know we mean no harm and were only trying to answer the distress call." Miguel said getting right to the point.

*I see...* S’H’ara replied. *If you open the viewport I’ll be happy to assist. If possible. Not all species of life think in ways that allow me to communicate with them. Most space faring races do, but not all.*

"Viewport? I'm afraid we don't have one here. What we have there is a holographic representation of what our sensors tell us is in front of us." Miguel said. "Is actual direct sight necessary for you?" he asked, while wondering if this was a mistake.

*No. Actual vision of the target is not required. I am able to communicate with any target as long as I know it's approximate location. It just makes it easier with a species, or individual, I haven't encountered before. If you could provide an image or location of the vessel I can attempt communication. Can your own astropath not do this?*
