Star Trek TNG: The Magic of Our Past

B'Elanna

I couln't believe it, alone at last. I love the way I felt in his arms. Pulling away slowly I went to sit on the bed.

"Would you like to joind me? "reaching out my hand to him. He took it and sat down.

I snuggled up against him. I'll let him start, I took my turn last time.

Will Riker

"That would be great Deanna." I say as we head to her quarters.

"Will, don't do anything foolish even though it has been a couple of years don't let your feelings for Deanna get in the way of your friendship." I say to myself.

Tom Paris

Tracing her head ridges with my thumb, I look her right in the eyes. Pushing her back onto the bed I press against her and kiss her deeply.

Figuring she was going to let me start this time, I try to find away to bring the Klingon out, I wanted it rough for some reason.

Deanna

When we reached my quarters, I motioned for Will to sit down on one of the chairs at the table and ordered up dinner for both of us from the replicators. I brought both trays over and places one in front of him while I took a seat near him and settled in.

I sat looking at the meal, I picked up my fork and began to move the food around on the plate not really eating. "You know, Will, I do understand what you are going through. Many of the people on the Enterprise feel the same way you do and it is a common topic among my counceling sessions. Many people feel that 'smallness' and loneliness out here in space where we are just one of a million tiny specks. The vastness of the space around us seems to have that effect on people."

I avoided the fact that I, too, felt that way but sometimes I doubted it was because of the reasons I had put forward just then. "But you are an excellent second-in-command and the Enterprise needs you at your best. We cant afford to have you wearing yourself out just so you dont have to go back to your quarters alone at night."

Taking a deep breath, I went on in a bit of a rush. "You are always welcome to come knock on my door if you feel you dont want to be alone. I think we have grown to where we dont have to let the past keep us apart,"I reached out to put a hand on his,"If you ever need a friend....someone to talk to or even take part in a holodeck program....I am here."

Will Riker

"Deanna always has had a way with words, and she means everything she says." I think to myself.

"Thanks Deanna," I begin as I too push more food around than I eat, "I will have to take you up on that offer."
Closing my hand on hers, I look up at her and smile. "I am a lucky man to have you as a friend." I say, then take a few more bites of my meal.

Deanna

I took my hand away and tried to eat a few bites. I really should go back to studying the files but I couldnt motivate myself to do that right now. Right now all I really wanted to do was be with Will even if it was just as a friend at this point in our lives.

Pushing my plate away, I said,"Well, why dont we start now? I seemed to have heard that you were working on a new holoprogram. Are you prepared to share it with a good friend?" I flashed him my biggest smile and waited for his answer.

Will Riker

"Sure Deanna, I would love to show you the program." I say after I finish the meal.

Getting up, I lead her back to Holodeck 2. "Computer, run program Riker, Beta, 12-3." I call out. After the computer spits out it's usual beeps, the room shivers.

We appear back on Earth, wearing thick coats. Looking around, our location is on the back porch of my parent's cabin in Valdez, Alaska, which overlooks a small lake. The ground and trees are covered in powder like snow, which the sunlight is reflecting off of.

"What do you think Deanna?" I ask her.

Deanna

I looked around in awe. Will had every detail down to the way the sun glinted off of the snow. It was as if it had been chiseled right from one of his boyhood memories.

I smiled up at him and said,"It's beautiful, Will. This must have taken you a long time to get all the details down. I dont suppose there are skates inside the cabin that we can use on the lake and a nice roaring fire and hot chocolate waiting for us when we return."

Will Riker

"Are you kidding?" I ask. I go inside and grab the skates.

"Come on let's go, I have a little more than the fire part programed. I can always make adjustments if needed." I say grabbing her hand and heading for the frozen lake.

Deanna

I ran after him, our hands linked and myself laughing like a small girl on her first date. All of the pressure and stress of the last few weeks slide from my shoulders and there was only this moment in the snow, with Will, on our way to skate on a frozen lake.

When we reached the lake, I was a little out of breath and our cheeks were flushed. Taking my skates, I sat on a fallen log and begin to put them on, waiting for Will to get his on before I stood up.

Making my way over the short way to the lake, I held his hand as we stepped onto the ice. I was a little unsteady as it had been a long time since I had done this. But it was a pasttime I did enjoy when I could take the time. I begin to glide out onto the lake and immediately lost my footing and would have fallen if I had not grabbed onto Will's waist.

"A bit rusty arent we,"Will said, laughter in his voice and a sparkle in his eyes. A sparkle I had not seen in a long time.

I laughed and blushed a bit. "A bit rusty yes,"I said to him as I pushed away from him and steadied myself on my own,"But I bet I could beat you in a race."

With that, I took off at a glide, laughing as I heard him call out to me. "No fair! Now that was simply cheating!" Turning my head to look back I said,"Catch me if you can!"

Will Riker

Rushing after her, I don't pay attention to where I am on the lake. Deanna turns just as I reach out to grab her, and I hit the edge of the lake and go sliding into a snow bank.

Getting up, I shake the snow out of my hair and chase after her again.

Finally catching up to her again, I grab her and pull myself up close behind her. "Got you." I say as we skate around the lake at a slower pace.

Deanna

I almost squealed as his arms came around me and I heard him say,"Got you." I relaxed and let myself just be with him as we skated about the lake.

"You wouldnt have caught me if I hadnt been laughing so hard at you snowbank misshap,"I said to him, the laughter still in my voice. As we circled the lake, I let my body relax into his and it was almost like it used to be. "Watch it, Deanna,"I told myself,"Let the past stay in the past."

But it was hard to keep such admonisions in mind when the setting and the company was so perfect and I felt myself enjoying both to the exclusion of everything else.

Soon though the sun begin to set just as it would have if we had really been on earth and I turned to Will. "Didnt you say yes to the question of a fire and hot chocolate earlier?"

Will Riker

"I sure did." I say as the sun continues it's decent, casting a reddish/orange glow all around us.

Taking the skates off, we tread up the hill to the cabin. Pouring water into the pot, I turn the stove on to heat it up, then join Deanna by the fire.

"I see you were enjoying yourself out there." I tell her, smiling brightly.

Deanna

"Considering the company and the surroundings I could hardly do anything else,"I said as I smiled back. His smile was very contagious. "I see that you were apparently enjoying youself also. Considering I won the race."

I looked at him with a completely innocent look on my face but my eyes matching the twinkle in his. It felt good to be able to slip out of the Federation personna for even a little while and with Will I felt comfortable enough to do just that.

B'Elanna

I couldn't control myself any longer. I reached up and started to undo Tom's uniform. I knew what he was trying to do and it wasn't working. My klingon side wasn't coming out tonight, as long as I could help it.

Will Riker

"You won the race?" I ask raising an eyebrow. "If my memory is correct, I remember catching you which is what the stipulation was." I broaden my smile even more, remembering how good she felt in my arms once again.

The pot starts whistleing, so I dash into the kitchen and fix the hot chocolate. Bringing two cups of the steaming chocolate back into the living room, and sit down next to Deanna, right in front of the fire.

Tom Paris

"Looks like it is human sex tonight." I think to myself as B'Elanna starts to remove my uniform.

As I kiss her again, I unhook her uniform shirt and start unfastening her pants.

Deanna

Laughing, I accepted the hot chocolate and took a sip. It was delicious. Looking back up at him, I said,"Ahhh, but it took you two tries to get me. If I remember correctly, I avoided you the first time."

My eyes sparkled as I spoke, the teasing evident. A brief thought crossed my mind that we hadnt talked or acted like this together for a long time. The past had always intruded but it was almost as if that very past was suspended at this very moment along with the present outside the holodeck.

B'Elanna

Swifly I threw him down onto the bed and strattled over him removing the topof his uniform. I decided that things were going too slowly fro this klingon.

"Computer, allow absolutly no access through that door"

I bent down to his neck, and started to leave kisses down in a trail all the way to his stomache.

I could feel him harden under me as I continued. sitting up I lifted him up to me allowing him a small taste of my skin

Will Riker

"Tell the truth Deanna, did it really take two times to catch you?" I ask, not talking about the race we had.

Taking another sip of chocolate, I glance at her over the top of the mug.

Tom Paris

I kiss on her collar bone softly, then I nibble it. Moving my hips beneath her, I rub my hardness against her.

"B'Elanna you feel so good, I want you bad." I say as I bite her on the collar bone.

Deanna

I looked up at Will, the tone of his voice telling me that he was not talking about the race. Putting my cup down, I shifted to a more comfortable position and searched for an answer to his question.

"Will,"I began in a soft voice,"I would be the first person to admit that there were reasons...strong reasons why we were together and there were just as strong reasons why we drifted apart." I looked up into his eyes, my mind going back to another time when there was nothing to prevent us from saying what we really felt,"Those reasons have kept us apart even now that we are assigned to the same ship."

I sighed and turned to look at the fire that was crackling away merrily. The time with Will had been perfect-almost as if we had never parted. I had been able to lower my defenses and let him in once again. Was that a mistake? That was the one question I could not answer.

"I...I had a wonderful time,"I finally said, my voice dying down to a whisper.

Will Riker

"Deanna I am sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel bad." I say. "It is just that I got to comfortable in here, I guess I made the program to well."

"Damn it Will, why can't you leave well enough alone?" I ask myself.

Dr. Crusher

Beverly Crusher pushed all thoughts out except to concentrate on closing the gaping wound before her. Slowly, ever so slowly, the skin closed under the thin beam of light that played upon it until there was no sign of the wound left.

Looking up, she smiled at the little girl that sat there with tears in her eyes. "There we go,"She said in a gentle voice,"Now that wasnt so bad was it?" The little girl shook her head, but there was still a bit of fear lurking behind her eyes. "Just remember to be more careful and dont run after Billy Mckinzy-even if he did put paint in your hair. Especially if you are carrying your glass art project in your hands at the time. Besides, it only means he likes you."

Helping the small girl down from the sick bed, she watched as she ran over to her mother and held up her wounded arm for Ensign Hanson to see. "She will be find,"Bev assured the worried mother,"It wasnt really that bad. But she was a brave girl and you might think about a treat down at the mess hall for her. I hear their ice cream is especially delicious today." That last got a big smile from the girl and both she and her mother left, the mother giving the age old 'you have to be more careful' lecture as they went.

Beverly was very familiar with that lecture. She stopped counting how many times she had given it to her own son, Wes, a long time ago.

Looking around the sick bay, she was pleased to see that all patients were taken care of and she now had time to go to the dining hall herself and grab a bite to eat. Letting the others know she was leaving and to get ahold of her if an emergency arose, she headed out of the sick bay area herself.

Capt. Picard

Jean Luc put down the book he had been reading, The Collected Works of Charles Dickens, and stood up, giving his tunic the familiar Picard Maneuver to straighten it.

"Computer, location of Chief Medical Officer Crusher." "Dr. Crusher is currently leaving the Sick Bay," said the disembodied voice of the ship's computer.

Picard tapped his commbadge, "Picard to Crusher" Soon, he heard her voice, which still made his normally steady pulse race just a bit, answer, "Yes, Captain?"

"Beverly, I was wondering if you'd eaten yet? If not, may I join you?"
