Star Wars: Return of the Sith

As I exit hyperspace I see the planet in my screen.

I check radar and then start toward the surface and the rebel base.

As I am flying I hear

'Send the codes for entrance or be shot down'

I punch them into the computer and then get ready to make my landing.

"So were to you want me to park this beast"

'Sven just park it were ya always do. Right in front of the hanger you know prediger.'

I set her down and undo the hold doors.

While the ship is unloading I go to the bar to see whats new.

Luke

Luke smiled at Natacia and introduced the other Padawan to her, and watched as the other boy bowed to her. He wondered if he was supposed to bow as well, but figured it was too late now. He tilted his head to the side, glad for the distraction from the incident with the Sith.

"Sure, we can talk." He winced. "I'm sorry I didn't introduce you to Tynan. I forgot."

Darth Azraiel

" Some, those who can think of things other than their own personal power and greed may join me. To be honest I will probably have a easier time convincing Jedi of this than Sith. And if they do not agree, well, lets just say that internal discussion of policy among the Sith takes a much more lively tone than it does among the Jedi. Do not get me wrong, I would be very pleased at a entirely peaceful merging of our two orders into one force that stood for peace and unity in the galaxy, but I seriously doubt that I can convince my bretherin that this is the way to continue the exsisitance of our order without some serious fighting."
I stood and bowed to the Jedi Master. " Goodnight yourself, Master Duu'Raan, and may the Force be with you."

Daelon

Grateful to finally receive a moment's peace, Daelon assumed his meditation position, blocking out the rest of the world as he slipped into his own mind. His eyes flicked suddenly open, however, when he found that his connection to his own feelings and thoughts were blocked by a great mass of guilt and anger with himself. He rubbed his head slowly, trying to control these terrible feelings.
He knew as well as any Jedi where those feelings led.

Jedi Master D'Rack Fran'tok

D'Rack walksalong the path way in his new Jedi Robes. He had just brought some new Robes, it was black, with a green belt, and green edging. It was brought to match the new Lightsaber he was going to make himself.

As D'Rack walked down the path way, hewas thinking about what the Sith Lord had said. "The Sith and the Jedi working together is, is not able to happen. The jedi are good, the sith are evil." What the Sith lord suggested made D'Rack sick to the stomch. He wanted nothingto do with the Sith, afterwhathappend to his wife before he became a Jedi. The Sith had captured his wife, raped her, andto this day, D'Rack doesn't know if she is alive or not.

D'Rack finaly made it the shop he wanted. Where he can find the parts to make a new Lightsaber.

Mogo

The meal had done me well, and as I sat, picking my teeth, I let out a loud belch that turned the heads of others in the eating area.
"uh...sorry," I muttered, fighting back a second round.
"That was incredibly rude," 3PO commented. "I've never encountered a creature with such foul habits, evena Toydarian..."
"Does that thing ever shut up?" Beegas asked.
"Not yet," I replied. "Wait till I find the off switch."
Orin grinned at that one. 3PO remained silent for once.
"So, who's the girl?"
I shook my head, mildly disgusted with her, though I guessed I was really just disgusted with having gotten myself involved with her."She's a one of a kind," i replied, knowing that I couldn't say much about her, not only because I didn't know much, but because I was also an accomplice of sorts. Although I had little to do with what was going on. A pilot, that was all, and I hadn't decided for certain I was going to follow this path to the end.
"Oh, yeah?" He asked. "Are you three with the Rebellion?"
I shook my head. "Nah, we just ran into the pilot from Rogue squadron and lent him a hand."
He nodded. "You mean Isalias? From that Star Destroyer? If you guys can handle a situation like that, with that old frieghter, we could probably use you on our side. You might want to think about joining the cause. Help the whole universe, especially now that it's in the most peril."
"We'll think it over," I returned, wishing then more than ever that I'd stayed on Tattooine and left Kerra to deal with this Tholin Mod guy alone. I was getting into something far too big here, and I felt like such a little guy when it really came down to it.

Standing slowly, Kelson silently sweeps out of the room to find some solace to ponder the words. Perhaps outside the base...

Marius

"Yes, Master Basaal," I'd said, to every one of his questions.
"Are you certain you are ready?"
"Yes, Master Basaal."
"Have you come to temrs with your past? Are you ready to put it behind you?"
"Yes, Master Basaal."
"Are you ready to dedicate your life to the Jedi cause?"
"Yes, Master Basaal."
A few more, but all in all, Yes Master Basaal, I was ready.
Though I wasn't as certain as I tried to sound.
A Jedi stands for what is right
The ideals Raine had taught me swam through my head.
Sacrifice of oneself for the better of others. Only those who give of themselves truly deserve peace, and a Jedi must always be at peace within.
Peace within? A Myth, I believed, and so did Raine, I knew--eventhough she'd never said so--but the ideals was a pure one, unadulterated by human weakness.
peace within, I thought.
The objects moved around me, just as I asked. I knew Basaal was watching, but I paid no mind. Peace within was of its own essence, not to be affected by what would be outside influences.
"Good," his voice said. "you may stop, allow them to fall."
I let the objects fall. They landed around me with light thuds.
I felt the cloth being tied around my eyes.
"Follow your instincts, feel the force."
Basaal's words, though i'd heard them so many times from Raine.
"When I say, draw your saber," Basaal instructed.
As I knelt there, eyes closed, body relaxed, waiting, I could feel the remotes moving around me, just as he'd told me to. The force allowed me to feel what I could not see.
"Now," Basaal said, calmly.
I was standing then, saber in hand, the remotes firing. Deflecting them back was like not moving at all. I'd never been so immersed in the force before.
Arrogance, I thought, Just like Raine had always told me. It blinded me to the force to an extent.
I was turning, but hardly aware o fit. The remotes firing, bolts being deflected away.
A Jedi is always at peace within.
You're not a Jedi yet, Marius
Raine's voice remining me of that simple fact. Always persistant, always accurate, but this time, it made a shiver roll up my spine.
One of the bolts struck my forearm, causing the skin to burn slightly, bringing my thoughts from Raine back to where they were meant to be.
Peace I thought, regaining my composure, reconnecting with the force.
Soon the remotes ceased to test me, only one bolt having slipped past my guard. But one bolt was enough to be discouraging to a degree.
A failure survived is a learning experience. Always know humility, and it shall be your ally.
"Now," Basaal's voice said, as the blindfold loosened from my eyes and fell to the floor. "A live enemy."
I heard a saber being ignited and opened my eyes to see the Jedi Master standing before me.
Uh-oh I thought.
"Begin," he announced, advancing.

Raine

Not here at all?
"Marius, you speak in riddles," I replied. "Explain what you mean, stop playing around."
"Marlik has been gone for three years," Marius explained.
"Yes, but I've found him," I replied, pointing to the man as if he hadn't noticed his tall frame standing there.
"No, Raine, you haven't," he replied. "Marlik is not here, any more than I am. He's in your mind, and only there, where he has been since his disappearance. Yo and I were separated during the escape from Mached V."
I just looked at him, not surprised at his words, yet not having a clue as to what was coming next.
"I'm imagining this?" I asked, finally.
"Not exactly. I'm here at heart, Raine, always with you in that sense," he replied. "But physically, I'm elsewhere..."
"You're on Yavin IV," I muttered.
He nodded.
"And I'm..."
I thought for a moment."Alda," I said, the name finally coming to me.
Marius nodded, smiling.
"You've crash-landed on Alda. You're alive, but you're not in the best of conditions. You must wake up, Raine, and regain yourself."
"Wait," I said. "But I know where I am, and where you are, but where's...?"
I turned to Marlik, eyeing him, waiting for the information to come.
Nothing, not even a hint.
I was wondering then, had I truly lost him?"Where?"
"I'm out there somewhere, Raine," he replied. "In fact, I believe you'll see me again very soon. But donot be surprised if you don't recognize me. All things change with time. You'll see."
"You've taught me well, Raine," Marius said. "Now it's time to return to me. I'm waiting for you, the same as you've waited for him. Make me, and the other Jedi proud."
The corner of my mouth actually curled into a slight grin at that.
"You're not a Jedi yet, Marius," I returned.
He grew totally still for a moment, as if he'd felt something unusual, then he glanced around to ensure things were as they should be. When he looked to me again, he shok his head slightly, as though uncertain what had just occurred.
I glanced back to Marlik, who smiled and bowed his head to me.
"I must go now, Raine," he announced, stepping backward. "But I am with you always."
As he said those last words, his eyes seemed distant, clouded in a way."Soon," I said.
He nodded, "Yes, very soon."
I bowed to him in return and he stepped back again, fading, becoming transparent. In a few seconds, only air remained where he had just stood.
I turned to Marius.
"Come back to us, Raine."
I nodded, thinking, how do I begin?
"It's simple, Raine," he replied, as though he'd read my mind. "You simply wake up."

Head throbbing, pounding...blood...
Blood rushing...

I forced my eyes to open, feeling the warm liquid running into them immediately as I did.
I closed them again, wiping the blood away with one hand while reaching for the harness of the X-Wing with the other. I found the release lever, then peered as well as I could above (below) me at the glass. Cracked, but not broken. It might hold my weight.
I pulled the lever and let myself fall, landing hard on the glass and resting there for a moment, my body aching from almost everywhere. The pressure in my head was easing though, and at a good pace as well. I sat up, again wiping at my face, this time managing to clear my eyes relatively well. I tested my limbs, surveyed my body with both eyes and hands.
I was aching, and injured in ways I didn't even know yet, but all in all, I functioned.I reached to the console and switched on the alternate power, then took quick readings of the atmosphere outside the Fighter.
"Atmosphere, stable," I muttered, reading the instrument panel.I glanced below, seeing the gray smog that waited there. Alda was one of the planets that hadn't been explored yet. I guessed it was time to give it a try.
I gripped the harness that had held me in, then pulled the lever to open the cockpit. As it did, all that I could see below was fog, or smog, or whatever the gray substance was the thickened the air.
What was down there?
"Only one way to find out," i muttered, then released my grip and allowed myself to fal into the thick mist waiting below.

Tynan

Tynan stayed until the end of the meeting, and watched Master Duu'Raan and his apprentice leave, leaving only himself, the Sith, and the Jedi Moedwyn. He's not sure why, but he decided to stay with them, and would help with the escort to the guest quarters. He should be nervous at the situation, or feel something at least, but a strange calm had overcome him over the last hour. A strange acceptance of things. he would say it was the 'Inner Peace' Master Skywalker had always spoke of, were it not for his still present anger simmering just below the surface. They had ignored me, again. He would find the boy after gathering his things, take him to Duu'Raan's quarters, and force him to accept the boy. The boy was his responsibility, and he would see him trained correctly. I sure as hell can't do it.

He nodded to himself. Whatever the cause, he had never felt so strong, so confident.

"I am heading toward the guest quarters myself, Darth Azraiel. I'll accompany you."

He walked out of the Council Chamber with the Sith, allowing the Jedi to stay behind them. It was the perfect position for her to cover the Sith, and Tynan for that matter. He was well aware how little the Jedi Knights trusted him.

"I, too, wish you luck. I will be very interested to see what becomes of this. And if the Jedi will, indeed, let you on the Council even if you do manage what you propose. They're not very receptive to new ideas..."

Master Duu'Raan

"Gather your thingsssss, Doprekka. We will leave asss ssoon asss we are able. Our misssion iss vital. We will find the origin of that probe droid." He bowed to his friend and apprentice.

"I will be waiting for you in the sshuttle bay."

Jedi Master D'Rack Fran'tok

"Now, lets see." D'Rack thinks to himself as he flicks the switch on his new Lightsaber as it 'Humms' to life.

He swaysit around a little to see how it handles. Happy, he flicks a switch and turnsit off, and looks at the hand piece.

It's about a foot long, black with green outlines, with green crystals covering the handle, giving it a shiny effect, with a long green blade.

His old 'saber was a purple blade, Master Skywalker suggested that color when D'Rack was his Padawan... Now, D'Rack felt like a change, as himself was starting to change.

D'Rack turned and looked out his window to out towards where his Shuttle was. He sighed with a breath of relax, as he calmed himself... He still felt disturbed zabout the Sith.

He was starting to feel that the Council will be the end of the Jedi order. "They don't know what they are doing... Only if Master Skywalker was still alive."

Closing his eyes, D'Rack reached out to the force, as vesion hit, taking over his mind, showing what the future may hold.... D'Rack collapsed on to the floor as his senses' was going nuts.

His eyes shot open us as he yelled: "NOOO!!"

Jedi Master D'Rack Fran'tok

D'Rack was running out of the temple where the edi Masteslived. Passingevery one, they had no idea what was going on.

"Excuse me, Master D'Rack, are you leaving already?" The Office asked as D'Rack reached the Hanger doors.

"Yes, I have argent business to attend to." D'Rack answered as he walkedinto the hanger... Lougly, so the officer would hear. "Let theother Jedi Masters know I have to leave, as we have trouble." Looking back over his shoulder at the officer."I'll be in thouch." D'Rack turned and hurred up the ramp of his Shuttle.

Sitting down, he turned thje enigines on, as he started to leftthe craft of the ground, when clear, he let out the S-foils as he slowly started to fly into the sky. He flicked a switch, opening a commchannel to the Renagade. "Prepare for hyperdrive ASAP, I am coming back on board."

*Doprekka looked to his master with a quirk of a wookie brow.*

(I have all I need Master. It seems that -I- will be awaiting -you- in the shuttle bay.)

*a hint of amusement touched the almost always stoic demeanor of the large wookie.*

Marius

Time had moved on faster than I'd have expected. I would have thought that a minute would have felt like hours under the pressure of the trials, the one thing that had shaped my life, the test that could have ended all that I had strived for. But time moved by rather quickly.
I had managed to focus, and that had helped, and I knew that I must achieve this goal, if not for myself, than to ensure that Raine's influence would live on in the world of the Jedi, if only by my presence.
I breathed deeply, listening to the silence that surrounded me. I had never been one for sufficient meditation, but somehow, I was finding it easy to do so now. Perhaps I now had the answers to the questions that had plagued me during my training. Did I have what it took? Could I face my own fears? Of failure, of self-deciet.
"Marius," a familiar voice said.
I opened my eyes, looking up at Master Basaal.
"Now that you have finished the trials, we must speak briefly of other matters," he said.
Other matters?
He hadn't told me whether I'd passed or failed, or was this his way of letting me down lightly? By pretending to be telling me of other matters?
Patience, Marius.
"Rise, walk with me," Basaal insisted.
I stood, following behind him as he exited the room and headed toward the garden.
"The Jedi were once a very strong order, Marius. I know you've been taught that, but it is important that you realize that this is true. It is important, I believe, that you look into the roots of the Jedi to see and understand what I am about to tell you."
I remained silent, thinking, this is how he starts, by telling me what a high standard was set and by explaining that not all the students will pass such trials.
"At one time, the Jedi were an order that could serve galaxies at a time, not just a small band of men and women, humans and other races that are scattered across the universe, helping here and there and wondering if their presence is being felt at all. Long ago, in a single battle, over two-hundred Jedi fought to save the lives of three of thier own. This was at the beginning of the Clone Wars, and many were slaughtered that day, but the Jedi were so widespread and well in number that this many Jedi could exist at one time, in one place. Do you understand?"
"I believe so, Master Basaal, I replied. "The Jedi are not what they once were. However, Master, the Council and the Jedi Knights have no perrished."
"No," he replied. "Thanks to Master Skywalker, the Jedi are becoming stronger, and have survived through many long years. The point remains that we are no longer at the strength that we once were, and these Sith, well, they are possibly every bit as strong as they were before. This truth, combined with their numbers, makes them a strong adversary. Remember that once and for many years there were but two Sith at a time. A Master and an Apprentice. Now, it appears that many more exist."
I was lost now, the Master going away from what I originally believed to be his course.
"My point, Marius, is this. In the years to come, it is imperative that the Jedi be protected, in our numbers and in our secrecy."
You've failed, I thought, but don't tell others. Our secrecy must be protected. I would oblige, of course, but failure was failure."What I'm asking, Marius, is that you consider helping to keep our numbers strong by taking on the obligation of a padawan learner. It would be beneficial not to put this off for too lng period of time, as time is of the essense."
"Master?" I asked, surprised.
He stopped and turned to me, looked me in the eye for a moment, then smiled fondly.
"Yes, Marius, you have passed the trials," he explained. "We merely wish to ensure that you will do your part to help us continue with the training of whatever padawan might be ready and that you feel you can be the most service to."
I looked at him for a moment.
"The children are young," he added, "So whatever child you choose, it will be beneficail to leave with myself or another Master for the most part. But the obligation of taking one on can be decided at any time."
"I will consider this, Master Basaal," I said. "But first..."
He nodded.
"First you must see as to the whereabouts of your own teacher."
I nodded.

Raine

The ground was soft in places, and in others, more water than ground at all.
Swamp.
Of all the things to find here...
The atmosphere was thick with the gray fog/mist, but beneath it, the mist cleared up, leaving the air fairly clear, though the sunlight never reached so far down.
The area was no without illumination, however, as a larger breed of firefly was abundant here, and gave off much more light than a normal one. Also, swimming in the water, in areas where the sludge wasn't too thick, a breed of small and large fish glowed from beneath thier skin when startled, giving off even more light.
At any given time, the area around me was at least dimly lit, as though by candlelight, if not torch light.
I'd traveled what seemed for miles, but had seen nothing but the same terrain everywhere. The planet wasn't void of life, though what topped the foodchain here was still a mystery to me.
Or perhaps the mystery was not so far unsolved, as I heard a heavy splash through shallow water not too far behind me.
I stopped and listened, hearing another following it, then a deep, distant growl.
I hurried my steps forward, pedalling through thick mud, then thin water, the a combination of the two.
Whatever was back there was at least twice my height, and probably taller still.
I high-tailed it, debating climbing into a tree to avoid the creature.

Master Duu'Raan

"Then we will depart now."

Duu'Raan turned and began to walk toward the hangar bay.

"The question isssss, where? Where do we go, to hunt the Ssith?"

Jedi Master D'Rack Fran'tok

D’Rack steered his shuttle away from Yavin IV, out towards the Renegade. He was flying at 3 times the allowed, but he was in a hurry. He had seen something, something he could not explain, nor did he want to; he just didn’t want it to come about.

D’Rack started to fold the shuttle’s S-foils as he started to dock with the Star Destroyer. As the ramp opened, and D’Rack started to walk down it, he could see the Storm Troopers had gathered around in formation, giving a salute of respect, and acknowledgment of authority. This pleased D’Rack.

At the bottom of the ramp stood the captain of the Renegade, waiting to talk to D’Rack. “Captain, I want you to set a curse to Coruscent, and get us there ASAP.”

“Yes sir, may I ask to why leave so soon?” The captain asked as the two walked.

“You shall see, in all due time.”

Daelon's head turned around suddenly, feeling a familiar presence coming his way.
Kelson...
Standing up, Daelon straightened out his jedi robes, adjusted the lightsaber at his side slightly, took a deep breath, and went to meet with his master. He and Kelson hadn't spoken since... since Mached V, and Daelon knew Kelson would have something to say to his padawan. Hell, he might even have some comforting words for his apprentice.

Marius

I'd skimmed the texts on several occasions, and actually read through a lot of detail on others, when I was a little more bored. So when the time came to put the oject together, a brief refreshing period was all I needed, and things were underway.
I looked over the finished product, testing its durability and switching it on and off. The blade extended, springing to life, then disappeared into the handle again.
I nodded, pleased with my own craftsmanship. I switched it on again, watching the blood-red blade extend, then swinging it around for a moment, then switched it off again.
My search would begin very soon. Perhaps Daelon would join me...
I wondered if I should ask him to.

Kelson moved silently, his mind still sweeping that place so far away...so unfamiliar...hard to penetrate...almost a black hole in its own right.

The present, Kelson, the present...worry not of the future at its expense

Ignoring his old master's words, Kelson probbed deeper, slowly stopping in the middle of a courtyard, the force swirling about him as if he were the center of a dust devil. Hard, biting...the world felt now, he could see the ground...hard, dry, cracked dirt...the horizon showing no sign of life as the vision swivelled about inside the Jedi Master's mind.

You move too rashly...

About him the force began to concentrate more thickly, his senses retracting more and more to focus in on his query...then he was there. A great shale floor sat upon the barren desert, the greys and whites swirling memorizingly as he moved swiftly, the blinding white blade he wielded turning to a mere blur even to the Jedi Master. The robes about the other danced upon the lazy currents of air, the vision slowing as if a number of pictures...the other stood poised in mid-air, his body half twisted and lightsaber swiping a mere inch above the ground...then he was back on the ground, another attack already in the works as a mere glance sent a human-sized boulder careening through the air before him to be cut seven times by the lightsaber before exploding into slivers of stone.

The future will arrive soon enough, tempt it not for then you will not be prepared...

He turned, those dark purple globes set in that skull glinting dangerously. With infinite grace and patience, he deactivated the lightsaber, moving to hook it to his belt.

Then he was back, stumbling with the sudden return to reality, the room seeming to spin about him as Daelon grabbed him supportfully. It was so confusing, so hard to balance, the force chaotically rushing back into his mind from that place so far away.

Daelon

"Master... Kelson...?" Daelon asked, his face showing the confusion in his mind as he held onto the Jedi Master, the only thing stopping him from collapsing entirely. "What is wrong?" Daelon asked, his voice as soothing as he could manage with the turmoil in his own soul and mind.

Kelson pushed Daelon away gently, falling to his knees on the hard ground, his eyes blinking rapidly as the ground seemed to continue spinning under him. What had happened? What had he done? How'd he know Kelson would seek him out again?

So many questions...so confusing...such chaos...

Peace within creates peace without

Focus Kelson...focus...

Then he was back, kneeling upon the now solid ground and holding his head as it all slowly returned to normal.

Daelon

"Kelson... are you OK now? What was that?" Daelon asked, concerned, grabbing a hold on Kelson and pulling him to his feet.

The Jedi Master stood with his padawan's support, his arm upon Daelon's shoulder and eyes closed as he composed him, picking his words out carefully.

"I seem to have overextended myself in my searchings with the force. Perhaps it will make for a good lesson for you my padawan," intoned Kelson, opening his eyes as he paused and looking into Daelon's eyes.

"Remember this and it will serve you well, even those with great power have limits and weaknesses...find those and you will know how to deal with them if the need arises."

Smiling genuinely, Kelson's hand squeezes Daelon's shoulder as his eyes roam over the confused features of Daelon's face. Finally feeling able to stand and move on his own, Kelson shook Daelon slowly by the shoulder, "What troubles you, Daelon?"
