Star Wars: Return of the Sith

Darth Azraiel

I turned to face the young Jedi. She was a stunning woman, a advantage I was sure she had used against male opponents before. Unfortunately for her my heart was lost long ago to another, so that weapon was denied her.
" I accept your terms young one. Now, shall we put all our toys away before someone trips and looses an arm?"
I stood there calmly, watching the guards shuffle around us, showing their unease.

I said I would not attack or harm anyone, but nothing was said about me not testing them. If I was to work with the Jedi, they must be strong, and have a strong will. I knew in my heart that extinction of Jedi or Sith was not the answer to solve the problems of our dwindling numbers. Only cooperation would fix that.

Bal

Bal looked at Nastasia and knew that this was the woman that had piloted the freighter that had saved him against the Star Destroyer. He smiled at her and said, "In Rogue Squadron? I would have to say about four years now and it is true- we are the elite. We do the things that other squadrons call the impossible but I don't want to seem like an egotist so I will just say that I am grateful, extremely grateful that you saved me against that Star Destroyer. If it hadn't of been for you then I know I wouldn't be talking to you right now."
I then put out my hand towards her to shake her hand but then I saw the look on her face. She seemed a little apprehensive about something and he didn't know what it was but it was something he didn't want to find out at the moment- he knew he would be pushing it, after all this was the first time they had met face to face.

Marius

After a moment's thought, I switched off my saber and lowered my arms to my side. I didn't trust this man, especially given how he'd suddenly shown up on Yavin, which should have much harder than it was, and harder to locate.
"Okay," I began, as Moedwyn switched off her saber as well. "What is your business here? In moe detail, I mean. What is it exactly you wish to speak with the Council about?"

Mogo

She'd befriended a pilot as well. First a young padawan, then a Rogue pilot. SHe was good, but something in his mannerisms was telling me he was more on to us than we wanted him to be.
I couldn't hear his response. That damned droid was rambling on about how rude everyone was again, prattling to the boy with us as though the child truly cared.
"They're always ignoring me and interrupting. I truly donot know why I put up with it..." It rambled.
"Hey, Orin," I began. "Wanna go see if they have a bar around here somewhere?"

Darth Azraiel

"It is quite simple, at its core. I wish to join the council as a equil member, representing the Sith as members of the galaxy. That is a overly simplistic explination of what I wish to do, bit at its core that is it."

From the shocked looks on their faces, they either thought I was mad, juiced up on spice, or something like that. This was going to be a fun evening.

Bal watched the others as they walked away, wondering where they were going and what was going to happen in this really crazy galaxy. I looked at the woman again, "Okay, now that you know who and what I am I have to ask the same. I don't mean to be pushy or rude in any way but I have to ask what you were doing in that section of space at that time."

He stood there and watched the lady closely, knowing by the look on her face that he wasn't going to get an answer from her and if he did then it was going to be a misleading one or a lie. Bal didn't want to suggest to his woman that he was making a suggestion she was lying or she was even a criminal but after being a Rogue for this amount of time and a investigator before that he had the feeling that this was the truth.

Colonel Darklighter

Gavin walked towards his fighter slowly and wondered why he was beight called for on Yavin IV. There were no threats around that he could see except for the fact that there had been a cloaked TIE fighter seen in the vicinity. He looked around at all the other Rogues as they walked towards their X-wings and smiled although Bal was still somewhere else. He had been told that he had come back safely and landed on the Solo but that was the last he had heard of him.

He got into his X-wing and smiled when he started up the repulsors and maneuvered the fighter to and through the magcon field. As soon as he was out into space he started up his engines and switched his comm system over to the Rogue Squadron frequency.
"Is everyone that should be here here?"
As soon as he got a "Yes sir." from everyone he turned his fighter towards the moon and headed towards it, again wondering what was going on down there.

Luke

Luke only half listened to the droid, more fascinated by the Sith. In a strange way, the man carried himself like Tynan. The same confidence, and something else... something Luke could sense, but not fully. Like just barely seeing something out of the corner of your eye, but every time you turn to look at it, it's gone. It was more an attitude.

"Excuse me for a second, Master See-Threepio," he said offhandedly. "I need to..."

He stepped forward toward the man, studying him. His hand unconsciously gripped his lightsaber, and his head tilted to the side. There was almost something familiar about him.

"Luke."

Luke froze at the sound of his name being called out, and turned to look over his shoulder. He saw Tynan stalking out of the temple, a scowl on his face. His long black hair flowing freely over his borrowed Jedi robes. He made his way toward Luke, and stopped in front of him.

"You're supposed to be meditating," Tynan said.

He never took his eyes off of Luke, but Luke got the impression that he was watching everything at once. Especially the Sith.

"I got bored," Luke answered. "I decided to go exploring."

Tynan studied him a moment before nodding. "This is no place for you. Not yet, at least."

"There are other Padawans here..."

"You're not a Padawan, yet," Tynan replied, softly. "I haven't spoken to the Council about your training."

Luke's face fell slightly, but he hardened it instantly. "But..."

"No buts. If you want to be a Jedi, you must learn your place. You have a great deal of potential, but no experience."

"I understand."

"Good. Now study the situation, and watch how it unfolds. This could be a valuable lesson." Tynan turned toward the Sith, finally, and smiled slightly. A peculiar half-smile...

Jedi Master Basaal

"They are indeed up to something," he returned. "But the Sith always will be, so long as they exist. The problem is, too much imperial presence will destroy us far too easily, and the possibility of the Empire uniting once again is a frightening one, given the masses of power existing even with them separate."
He thought for a moment. It seemed D'Rack meant well, but something about this conversation, especially D'Rack's temper, was definitely not what it should have been.
Trust your peers, his conscience told him.
"Perhaps some of the fleet will make a good distraction should we decide to evacuate, and more of it a good defense should we not escape in time. If they can be brought here without detection."
Basaal nodded to the man, trying to display the proper respect in case he'd failed to do so earlier.
"What worries me most is the possibility of attack not just from the Sith who have already attacked, but those who have not, with powers and forces we have not yet seen. It also seems odd that the Mached base was so easily evacuated."

Two new jedi approached us now, or rather a Jedi & his Padawan, but something was strange about them both. The jedi "felt" a lot like me, darkness swirled with light, and something about the boy was tugging at the back of my head, but I knew not why.

" Greetings Jedi, I am Tholin, known as Darth Azraiel by my title. Are you to be my shadow, or are there more coming to watch over me also?"
Something about this Jedi, he was, disturbing.

Jedi Master D'Rack Fran'tok

'It was if, they didn't want to destroy us, but just get us out of the way for something."D'Rack closes his eyes and lowers hishead in thought."What was in that base, or on the planet that the Sith could want?"

"As for bring some Troops in system, i am not long of having a Super star Destroyer finished, then I shall have theShipping bays work on other newStar destroyers.... I have a number of Clonesbeing done, but by the time there ready, a year wouldbe up... But i can station one Star Destroyerin this System, in seceret, have it station in themost unlikly area, then if needed, you can call open it."

"I will return to Coruscent shortly and watch over the construction of the Super Star Destroyer Avanger, and work on some other projects I am handling."

"That brings me to one other matter... Concerning to my assignment on Tatoonie... I could not find the instructions for the secet Saber, or the proto type... Imperials where all over the place."

Tynan

"I'm not a Jedi, Lord Azreal." He crossed his arms over his chest. "My name is Tynan, and I don't think I am trusted enough by some here, to be your 'shadow' as you put it. Although it would be an interesting experience, I think."

Tynan's anger was cold, now, and in control. But still lurking. He could feel the uneasiness of those around him at his entrance escalate now that he was speaking to the Sith. Most likely they believed that they had two Sith on their hands now. All that did was irritate him further. His frown deepened, but he kept his anger reigned in.

"You really mean to attempt to join the council?"

Jedi Master Duu'Raan

Duu'Raan watched, and listened, to his counterparts quietly. They made good points. He closed his eyes opening himself up to the Force, hoping for another vision that would shed light on their future. Unfortunately, he saw nothing.

"I proposse that we move mosst of the younger studentsss offworld, onto sstarshipss, and begin a sssearch for another location for the Academy. At leasst until we know more about what we face. Doprekka and I will mantain contact while we invessstigate, if we losse contact for any length of time, then you'll have your anssswer asss to the threat to uss."

He turned to D'Rack. "Unfortunately, I know little of the 'ssecret Ssaber' on Tatooine. Anything you can tell me to fill in the gapss would be greatly appreciated, Massster Fran'tok."

He looked toward the door. "I'm alsso quite ssure you can all feel the unease in the air, and most of it due to a new presence. Sssssith, I believe. We sshould meet this new arrival as ssoon as posssible, but I ssense he is in hand, for now."

Jedi Master D'Rack Fran'tok

"This Saber, from the Ancient Texts that I came acoss in the past, speak of a blade that twists." D'Rack looked around at all the blooks of surprise. "I tracked the proto type of this Saber back to Master Obi-Wan's home on Tatoonie... He has keptit therer, with everything else... When I go there, no sign of either instructions or proto type could I find, and Storm Troopers were every where..."

"I am sure I don't have to tell you how much risk there is of the Sith coming across this Saber; and of the power they would gain... I'm continuing my search for it... If the Imperials haveit, it would be of no use to them, as a strong grip on the force can only control the blade, from what the Ancients said."

D'Rack looks over to the door and Master Duu'Raan. " "I feel it as well... They will come to us..." D'Rack could sense it inthe force...

"Back to this Saber, I beleaveit may be of good value to us... Us who can control it with the force... Only the strongist could handle it, again, as the Ancients said."

Marius

As Tynan approached, I should have felt more comfortable, knowing that another trained in the Jedi arts was present, but for some reason...
I held tightly to my saber, not replacing it on my belt just yet. I glanced to Moedwyn and saw her holding tight to hers as well.
As the Tynan and the Sith spoke, I glanced back to see if Daelon had followed us here. He was nowhere to be seen. I silently wished him luck with his demons, then returned my attention to the scene before me, waiting for the Sith to respond to Tynan's question.

Darth Azraiel

" Yes Tynan, I do intend to put forth that I be granted a voting seat on the council. I fully expect to either be outright refused, attacked for my impetence, or laughed at, but I am willing to take that if I have the slightest chance for them to hear me out. "
I began to pace, getting once again excited with my idea, my dream.
" You see, both Jedi and Sith are different sides of a coin, that coin being the Living Force. They are both Light and Dark, as is the force, and both must exsist for either to exsist. I am not proposing a radical change in how the council does buisness, but a seat be allowed to handle those students and jedi who are not the "norm" that the council looks for. I do realize that the Dark Side deals mostly with acts that are "Evil", and that most fear the destructive powers that we, the Sith , weild. Jedi and Sith CAN work together twoard the greater good of the galaxy, if they both desire it. Believe me, I am expecting some problems getting this across to the council, but i expect a more dasngerous opposition when I try and explain to what Sith remain that this is the way we shall come into this Millenia."
I looked at the assembled jedi, waiting to assage their reactions.

Cloud City, Bespin

"Here, sir," Bennison announced.
Darth Vaine stopped and turned to the man.
"Perfect condition?" Vaine asked.
"I believe so, sir, but it is here for your inspection," Bennison returned. He'd grown nervous, and he knew the Sith had picked up on this emotion, and that made him even more nervous.
They were too low in the building's structure, too far down near the mines.
Vaine looked him over. He looked to the floor, eyeing his toes.
"What discomforts you, Mr. Bennison?"
Quiet for a moment, then, "I'm nervous about having Imperials here, sir."
"Imperials?"
He nodded. It was a lie, but what choice did he have.
"Yes, sir. They tend to follow the Sith, or so I've heard."
"And heard from where?"
"Stories, of the past," Bennison replied.
THe Stih stared at him for a moment.
"Calrissians still remain in Cloud City?" Vaine asked, finding the name in his brain.
"Leroy," Bennison replied. "He's merely a miner, nothing more."
Vaine stared a moment longer, but made no further reply or aggressive questioning. Still, Bennison eyed his feet, not wanting to look up. He felt meek, and powerless. Not the best trait for the new baron-administrator of the city.
"In here," he said finally, pointing to a door to their right. The door opened as he walked through it, not waiting for the Sith to move, wanting out of the situation more than anything else.
The room they entered was small, as many of the lower rooms in Cloud City were. Three guards stood around what looked to be a long metal coffin.
They shifted their eyes when the Sith entered. They were common guards, who rarely dealt with more than a drunk miner wandering at night. The Sith's presence had changed the lives of everyone in Cloud City. Simple miners had too much to worry about these days.
"Excellent," Vaine stated. "When can I expect things to be finished?"
"Sir?" Bennison asked.
"This item needs more preparation. Get the unfreezing chamber ready. I want this finished as soon as possible."
"Yes, sir," Bennison returned. He was beginning to wish he'd refused the Sith in the first place. Even if the man had killed him, it would have been over with.

Tynan

Darth Azreal's words sound just like the words he himself used in his many discussions - arguments - with Master Skywalker. He had always believed it possible to embrace both Light and Dark, and not be inherently evil. Master Skywalker had always disagreed, believing that it was impossible to control the Dark side without being controlled by it in turn. Tynan still disagreed with his old Master.

"I doubt they will accept you, but I doubt even more that they will kill you for your attempt. That is not their way."

He glanced around at the Jedi before looking back at the Sith, and tilting his head to the side.

"Still, I'd like to be present during the conversation... for personal reasons. And I also have business with the Council."

He placed his hand on Luke's shoulder.

Darth Azraiel

'I have no problems with you being at the council. I sense that we could have many of the same philosiphies. Now, is this your apprentice? I can sense the force within him, & it is very strong indeed."

There was definately something very familiar about this child.

Tynan

"This is Luke. I have been teaching him." He saw Luke puff out his chest in pride.

Tynan didn't want to get into too much detail with the man. He couldn't trust a Sith. He had, after all, just completed a bounty on one. For all he knew, Darth Storm had been Azraiel's apprentice.

Luke

Luke studied the man. He opened himself to the Force, feeling pride at the man's words. He found the Force easily, reveling in the power. It seemed to speak to him, whispering to him. He heard a name...

"Carradas," he whispered, then lost his connection to the Force when he realized that he had said something.

He saw Tynan look down at him curiously, and he shrugged. "Sorry."

Darth Azraiel

Carradas??

I had given my full name when I first encountered the Jedi, but this child had not been there. Also, I had sensed him touch the force, and I could have sworn he reached out to both the light & the dark when he did. Something about this boy called to me, and that troubled me.

" So Luke, you want to be a great Jedi someday, maybe even as famous as your namesake?"

Luke

Luke nodded fervently, then blushed slightly. "I don't really know much about Master Skywalker, though. But Tynan tells me he was a great man, and a great Jedi. He knew him. Tynan was his Padawan."

He looked up at Tynan. "I'll probably learn more about him while I'm here."

Tynan

"You'll learn some history."

Tynan was troubled by the boy at times. Tynan himself was considered exceptionally strong in the Force, but the boy showed signs of dwarfing his power already. And where did that word come from? Carradas?

"You'll be trained thoroughly, count on that."

He looked back at Azraiel. "I think the Jedi council should be expecting us."

He turned toward the one familiar face he saw. "Marius? They would not allow me to enter the council chamber, but I can't believe that a roomful of Jedi Masters are unaware of a Sith in their presence," he said with a smile. "Should we move toward the chamber, or remain here?"

Marius

"I believe it best to remain here. Should the Masters have wanted it otherwise, they would have sent word," I replied.
I'd been watching as the boy, Tynan and the Sith conveyed ideas to one another.
It was making me uneasy. And the idea of moving this situation closer to the Jedi Council...
It made no sense that we should be protecting them, but it seemed my duty at this time, to keep this situation from our superiors.
The similarities and the ease with which these three spoke to one another made me feel as though i were in the presence of three Sith, not one, a Jedi--former Jedi--and a boy yet untrained.
The boy...it was just then occuring to me.
"Tynan, perhaps it is best that Luke not be present for this," I suggested, wanting a child of such an impressionable age outside of the influence of the Sith.
I glanced to Moedwyn, but she didn't notice. Her eyes were locked on the scene before her, hardly showing unease, though I felt it from her.
Again, I thought of Daelon, and wondered where he'd disappeared to. he should have been here, in case Tynan and this Sith were even friendlier than they appeared already. I might need his support should things get out of hand.
"What do you think, Tynan? Perhaps we shold send him to meet with some of the younger padawans. If he is to be trained, and I suspect he might be, then he will need to know children his age."
