No mater how "fake outraged" you may be, Ambassadors, as well as most higher levels of government positions serve to support the position of the elected official. It's perfectly acceptable and even customary for an appointee to resign his/her position upon election of a new executive when said executive come into office.

I can't recall the Latin term, however all executive appointees serve "at the pleasure of." and nothing more. There is no "tenure" in appointed positions in any Federal, State or Local government in these cases.

Whatever the cause, the POTUS was well within his Executive rights to discharge that Ambassador.

We had a similar situation here in my home state a few years ago when the first elected Republican Governor in 29 years took over and literally cleaned house, and the 2:1 Democrat/Republican Senate and House of Delegates raised hell. Sorry, it didn't do anything but break up the embedded plutocracy, making this state a much better place to live.

The funny thing is there are lefty lunes touting she was fired. She was recalled and then re-assigned to another state dep position. She wasn't exactly a Trump fan.
