Honestly?it's difficult for me to process the thought that a woman who sleeps with over 10 men is just a happy sexually expressive woman.

I've not been brought up to think that and my gut reaction is to think that a woman who's slept with so many as being "loose" but then why should I find out?

What I refer to is a woman who happily proclaims to the world exactly how many men she's slept with (and i've met near stangers who have!) and take great pleasure and revel in it...to me that immediately shouts "Slut."

I'm not saying my out and out reaction is right but it is what it is...and I'd have a similar reaction with a guy....someone who boasts about how many sexual encounters they've had are "loose."

I'd not base my whole opinion on a person because of it, but if I was eyeing up a friend or a lover...I'd have to see something exceptional in them to get over that brashness..

I think that is similar to what Joe is saying :)

Sigh. I've got to reading the threads that are actually about sex.

They always depress the living hell out of me.

There's a term I haven't heard in a while, but used to hear a lot - sport fucking. The proclaimers tend to fall into the category of people who sport fuck, complete with stats, batting averages, penis size numbers, performance grading and advertising. Men and women who sport fuck are doing it for themselves, and, if they do it with each other knowing what's what, all's fair and fine because they're enjoying themselves and neither cares so much about the other person. I might think of them as sluts.

I think, though, that some young women, and young men, aren't necessarily having all kinds of fun or expressing themselves sexually if they have multiple partners in a short period of time. Some of them end up with high numbers of partners because they run into the sport fuckers and don't know it until it's too late. Some of them feel pressure to have sex sooner than they'd like, because it's expected very early on in a relationship. And I believe others don't give much thought to what they're doing and how they really feel about it and about themselves. I wouldn't call them sluts.

Then there are those who enjoy sex, enjoy other people, and don't hurt anyone in the process of enjoying. I would call them happy. :D

This is reminding me of that old movie "Casual Sex" with Andrew Dice Clay and Leah Thompson

I think I can agree with all of that. :)

It's not the number neccesarilyit's all kind of other factors that trigger of the "she/he's a slut" reaction in me.

What is your criteria for a male slut? (I get the impression from some of these posts that such a creature is just not possible in some minds.)

I think LJ got it right with her comment about "sport fucking." Honestly, it implies a lack of respect in my viewpoint, toward both the person you're sleeping with and yourself. And anyone who brags about such things is either an ass hole, or going through "an ass hole stage" (let's face it, we all fuck up sometimes). And the term slut can apply there, to women as much as ass hle can to men, though the two tend to be taken differently. Mostly, I think, because the term slut tends to be imposed by women as much as by men, whereas most men, like I believe Joe stated or implied earlier (but might not have, who knows?) don't really care much whether or not another guy's an ass hole or not. There's sort of a loneliness feel to the word slut. When you're an ass hole... Hell, you almost fit in everywhere, don't you?

Everyone has an asshole. Not everyone has a slut. Yeah, the loneliness feel is accurate.

A guy who's just out to score.

A male slut is a guy who has loads of one night stands and brags about it...the male slut might not have the same stigma as a female slut though.

QC...I think you are quite right agreeing with Lady J (it's a clever thing to do ;)) and it's more the braggingthats offensive than anything else to me...I think *L*

I don't ask someone how many people they've slept with before becoming friends with'em or anything like that ;)

I'm not sure whether this is on-topic or not --

it's been my humbling experience that "sport fucking," or whatever name is used for notches on the belt, makes for pretty mediocre sex.

Sure, it's worlds better than no sex, but ....

Sex without some pretty strong affection, or intense infatuation, or even a smidge of "love," has always seemed to me pretty mechanical and, well, there's been no reason not to move on to someone else.

That said, I can't imagine thinking less of someone because of who, or how many, they've gone home with.

I guess I'm agreeing with LJ when she said:

My guess is that this will be a minority opinion, so flame on!

In real life I'm very private about my sexual experiences. Aside from the 250 women I've told, I don't think anyone knows.

I find it very populated, and haven't the foggiest about what "subcranial" is.

Subcranial is an adj. and it means within the skull. It's usually used in referring to an injury or other condition of the brain, such as a subcranial tumor, a subcranial lesion, etc. I don't think I have ever seen the word used in an erotic story.

Here's an interesting poll of Lit members

about how many sex partners they have had. Age could not be included, so many included posts stating how many and what ages they were.

This poll was inspired by a study on Berman & Berman where they found that women tended to understate their number of partners in public, but in a place where they could be annonymous, or protected, or feel they were forced to tell the truth, the numbers went up.

This poll seems to support that study. Of course, Lit members are more sexually oriented anyway, but it is still very interesting in its results.
Check it out.

We'll have to work on that one, Box.

How about:

As he kicked in the door, it struck her hard on the head. She fell, striking the carpeted floor, subcranial damage worse than he could tell from where he stood just then, over her, looking down, penis in hand.
Then he camed in her fase.

Sound good?
