I recall uptake of mercury requires methylation by bacteria. There was a release of mercury into St. Clair River and methylation occurred resulting in banning of fish consumption from the River.It's made with mercury, and you chew food on it!
But I believe the secret is how much mercury wants to bond with the silver. Did some tox screening a while back. Despite having a few fillings mercury wasn't detected.
Honestly, I think the body can clear some mercury. Which is good, because some of the freshwater lakes around here are in rock that contains a fair bit of mercury. Fish from those lakes are high in it.
