That's a very tough situation with a family member needing care with elderly parents in the mix. Throw in free loading trash "helpers," it's unsustainable. Sorry you are dealing with that. I know a small bit what that's like and the stress is a killer.

I am the dumping pot for everything... they dont want me to do anything... or dont need me to "fix it" they just want me to listen.... well tell that shit to someone else.... oh and when I say dont dump that shit in me...they say that they aren't and that I am a bad listener.... my sister wants to talk things out...well I have heard the same shit for 20 years...get fucking over it and move on...

I LOVE that movie! I have the DVD and the soundtrack. The score is so dreamy! I've also read Dinesen's book. I haven't read the biography on Denys. I should try to find it. Now, I want to watch the movie again!

This is the one I nabbed and I promise you, it’ll read just like the Cadillac version!

Two other books popped up when I went to retrieve this…one on the relationship between Karen and Denys and the other a focus on the relationship with Beryl Markham. Her book is a good read also, as her life story is little more adventurous than Baroness von Blixen’s…IMO. Have fun going down the Out of Africa rabbit hole!

Tummy was upset all day…took my charcoal which worked too well…. Now I’m scrambling to get ready for work and deal with this issue….. It must be Monday…

Been watching Turkeys, Cranes, Geese, and Deer wander around the field constantly. All sorts of riffraff that would be laying waste to the garden if we didn't have a fence.
Tried a few hills of cucumbers and melons without the fence the other year, nothing would let them grow. Anything inside that fence will find it's way inside my freezer, one way or another!

What I LOVED about graveyard shift (11pm to 7am) was that it was like a three day weekend, every week.... I'd pack my camping gear and was free from 7 o'clock Friday morning, until 11 o'clock Sunday night... I got the best choice of campsites, beating the other "weekend warriors" to the punch...
That shift was also cooler, plus, a bit more "lax" as management wasn't around.

my days off w/ graveyard were Mon and Tues.
Great for appointments and errands, but otherwise a bit isolating w/ family/friends who worked M-F days
