The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I wish her and your whole family. The best of luck, i'm sure she's going to do wonderfully. They've come a long way in medical treatments.
Thanks, OM!! I really hope so - she's on my Favorite People List. 🥰

I tell people this all the time!

Today's cancer treatment isn't the same as what grandpa got in the late 70s/early 80s.

Medicine and Science are always hard at work to build a better mousetrap.

Cold, Wet, Rain all weekend while trying to get a few things done. Even rescued a 90 year old inline six flathead with it's mated transmission. Although it might be too late for that poor soul, it's been in the rain and snow for a few years. It's under a roof now.

Back to work again, and of course today it's bight and sunny.

Hope you all have a great day today.

Flathead six for what? Enquiring minds want to know….

We'll always have books and reading.
Even my own body isn't always on speaking terms with food 🤷‍♀️
And I like pancakes and muffins - we can leave it at that... no need for the deep dive that reveals I prefer to healthify my pancakes and enjoy a plain bran muffin to the sweetified and fruitified versions

We’re good. It just makes a better story the way I tell it.

How come?
To pay for coworkers who have snap benefits. Buy clothes for people who come in to the ed and a bunch of other programs. My question is why do we have employees on snap. Pay a living wage. Esp since 7 billion in revenue so far this yr. Staff got 3 percent raise managers and above got 15 to 20 percent. My donation dollars are for the 2 service organizations i belong too. . They support my neighbors in my neighborhood

From a 30's Dodge Brothers truck. Currently slated for nowhere, but it seemed a shame to let it rot/rust away in the weather. Carb was busted off the intake, and some other damage that probably let water in it. Sort of afraid to look any further. :(

It's in the same building as a few ford 4Cyl flatties. They're separated for now, no tellin' how they'll get along... 🤣

Anyone ever had oven roasted radishes? Yummy..
Roasted radishes taste like roasted potatoes
I used to and forgot until you jarred my memory just how good they are. Now they are on my grocery list.
Okay - I bought a bunch of radishes last night. Cut, oiled, and roasted tonight. I also roasted some baby reds since potatoes always help other veg go down. :ROFLMAO:

Overall - not bad

Verdict:
Roasted taste ✔️
Milder taste ✔️
Softer texture ✔️
Taste like roasted potatoes - not close enough for me
They also retain some of their radishy taste

I'll finish off the bunch, but likely won't make them just for myself again.

However, if they show up at a family or holiday meal sometime I'll take a serving or two... provided they're served with potatoes, too.

Ugh! Spent the day in New York City, just got home found out. I have to be in Washington. DC at 8 AM on Thursday for a contract signing with kagzakhstan. Under america first program. So you know who will be there.
If you need a friendly face... I have family out there. Can hook you up with cocktails or dinner*.

*Dinner comes with multiple rugrats and a dog. The dog doesn't bite. 😁 ;)

We are very much like her father. Always butted heads, too.

Thanks for at least trying

Thanks for at least trying
I'm a hard sell with foods.
So long as I know it's not something I already don't tolerate, I'm willing to try it. Help balance the scale. Too many foods on the No Fly List. Would be nice to add a few into rotation instead.

My second meal out on Saturday was an Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. I gave the avocado and green onion to my friend (No Fly List) and kept the rest.

Was a bit unsure of the coconut rice. Had never had it before. I've had raw coconut, which I like... and coconut in sweets like cookies, but never savory. She described it to me, and it sounded safe to at least try.

Wasn't bad, but I still prefer plain white or brown rice. It's a definite step above Jasmine rice. If the Jasmine rice is too fragrant I can't even sit in the restaurant without reacting.

So, I'm game to try but have tempered expectations. 🤷‍♀️
