If I’m not mistaken I think they may have one? I’m with you though…they deserve a special place of honor. If you ever remember the 80’s show China Beach, they did a special with the real life nurses they drew their stories from. It’s well worth a look if it’s floating around out there…

In honor of our resident nurses in The Spoon, they’ll be heavily represented over the course of the day!

It's no fun being cold all the time.

One of my siblings has trouble with body temp regulation. In their case, they have thyroid issues and struggle to keep their lab numbers at the right levels. My thyroid numbers are fine and yet...

I went through a phase several years ago where I could not regulate my body temp. I was freezing
I would wear cuddleduds long underwear, thermal underwear, a turtleneck, jeans, two pair of socks, and a hoodie and was still cold. This was inside an office kept at 72-74F in the winter.
The game changer for me was adding a midweight scarf. I was able to drop both sets of long underwear from the equation.

Maybe I should try this!

I am always cold. Mrs wonderer often wears a scarf and keeps her neck warm. For her that is the answer!

Btw - she worked outside yesterday for four hours in the biting cold and wind. She is a tough broad!!

The scarf was the answer for her!! Also hand warmers!

It showed his ignorance when climbing through the alders in bear country. The one 45-70 shot might hurt big, brown, and ugly, but it might take two to stop him and you won't get two with a trapdoor that should be shooting black powder. I personally always swap ammo in the .338WM for navigating through the alders. The 210g Noslers come out and the 275g go in. Just in case.

And then… there’s also the practical and safe approach!!

Have to agree - more shots = safer when dealing with big game and big predators.

The bestest way to take a picture of Person-On-Poodle is to get the poodle to pay attention to something off camera. Then it's ears won't twitch and blur. This was especially important a couplethree wars before that one.

Nope. This was right here in WA. I actually considered going to Saudi at one time. The main reason I didn't go was because I couldn't bring my dog.

So… caught up.

I also fell asleep on the couch at like 830 so here I am up at 1:55.

Urgh. I’ll make the best of it.

Funny story. Today - well yesterday - I went commando on Veterans Day. Why? I had not one pair of clean undies! . I did the wash but was well into getting my snowblower started by the time I was done and then… fuck it.

I did feel drafty down there.

Mrs wonderer got back from her one picky customer. (Man was she bundled up!) and then we headed down to the farm and finished walling in the solar kiln. And sold 3, $20 stacks of wood. Also filled up the wood stand.

Solar kiln: I just gotta paint the inside black now and then build the doors, and hang the fans and load er up. Yeah, I’ll have to put a vapor barrier on the outside and then siding too. But close!

Anyway, I was feeling the draft down there while we were working. It was windy.

We got back and did early dinner out… there’s a good local place that serves veterans for free - we go over year. When I say in my car, let’s just say I could feel how cold it was by going commando. Heated seats are the best!

So now you know my dirty secret for today… @likes2watchU shed her long John’s and I had none.
