I ate some food, let the dog out, checked the thread and Email and then took a morning nap. I feel great.

I am ready for a busy day of watching and enjoying my granddaughter this morning. Then a lunch with other WIDs. And finally afternoon and evening with longtime friends.

Gorgous state. I drive thru there ages ago using an Rand McNally map. Running low on gas and found out the hard way that not all of th roads were paved on the map!

Did make it to a gas station finally but it was really close!

This was in 1995. Before GPS, cell phones etc. I remember I used travelers cheques for that trip.

Up at 2 am because old dog needed to go out. But he had accidents so I had to wake up quickly to clean up. Accidents are common with old dogs and kidney issues. It’s hard to see him go through this.

I will try to go back to sleep after he does.

Glad to see Lili back sorry to hear the crud is hanging on. Lots of sinus infections going around me but not in me yet.

We have paved roads and electricity now!

Well, I recall 95% of the roads being paved… just not the one I took!

There were signs saying, “last gas for 200 miles” and stuff. I pretty much topped off at every gas station!

That was a fun trip. I had just graduated from college, gotten divorced and my contract with the reerves expired. It was time to explore.

Explored… took every US highway and back roads and tried to avoid interstates.

Up. Coffee. Slept a bit better even tho' it's too fucking warm here, even with the windows open. This is a temporary condition. Today is the t-giving lunch at the office. I'm sending the co-worker. Someone has to be here to tend to the fussy little old ladies. The local buddy agreed to meet for lunch, so there's that. It's gonna warm up a bit today, so there's that.
