The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Good morning! I used to have my own 236 Club when I was working crazy hours in London, followed by an hour's drive home.

I was often still wired and, after eating healthy salads all day, I would often attack the fridge and open a bottle of wine.

Within an hour the wine bottle was empty and I'd be left with the remnants of a one-man buffet.

Now I'm retired we turn the TV off at 9pm with a strict viewing rule: No crime after nine!

We often put on some slow, sleepy jazz on YouTube instead to help us unwind, relax and get ready for bed.

From a health perspective, early mornings are more productive than late nights.

To the denizens of the greasy spoon, good morning to those in the USA, and afternoon to those in Europe. It’s a cold start here in the Midwest. So it’s a good morning to have a lazy day: just laundry, deliver some canned goods to help feed those who need help, bake a fruit cake and maybe make some soup.

Now that I said my list, that doesn’t sound very much like a lazy day 😂

As a child, I marvelled at my grandmother’s early-to-bed, early-to-rise schedule and pondered how it made no sense to me. My schedule today is much closer to hers. Who knew?

The soup sounds good! We are supposed to have great weather for a few weeks down here in Fl gulf coast. I hope it is not too chilly up that way!

Planning my day…

(Hopefully sex)
2nd coat of paint for the kiln (early before it gets too cold)
Put a coat of paint on the cherry boards so they don’t split
Round more logs and bring them down for splitting.
Split wood if I have time
My sister is arriving at 3pm
Have a fire outside
Eat soup I’m making all day
America’s funnest videos
Sleep

I can relate to the hour drive home and was so happy when I discovered books on tape. Early mornings are great but what is a late night?

You should have time to pound a few nails into the kiln! No slacking!
