Morning, spoonies
Barely 2 hours in and it's been a week of a day already
So... how you doin'?
I have a sister and mates that are habitually late, I tell them to be at a place 2-3 hours earlier so they get there nearly on time
Dr. Tyler used to do that to/for my brother and his herd so they'd be at Xmas dinner on time. Otherwise, never would happen.
We have a relative like that... let's say their name is... Bob*. We call that "Bob Time"

*Names have been changed to protect me, not them 😂
Quite a bit behind. But quick stop by to say goodnight.
👋 good seeing you - even for just a quickie
You got that right. I know too many seniors unable to get more that 4-5 hours of sleep.
I've a friend who has always been an early bird. Recently however, they fall asleep between 7 and 8pm and wake up at 1am. No matter what they've tried, they are unable to shift that pattern, sleep more, or stay awake longer. And they hate it. ☹️
My late wife always had a tree up right after Thanksgiving. It was her holiday! I indulged. Now I am lucky to get one up a weekend before. But this year is different. My granddaughter wants a tree to decorate. So I will have mine up early for her.
My mother was the same. It was her holiday and she made it special.
Ditto for my mom. She loved all the holidays but Xmas was special. Decorations went up the Saturday after Thanksgiving and then down before New Year's Eve. The period between was Christmas Season. She didn't play the music that whole season but the decorations would be up and so would her mood.
People still talk about the year she had a Christmas in July party - complete with decorations and Santa 🎄 🎅
Me Mrs wonderer and my sister got hilariously drunk while I made soup. My sisters were responsible for my musical upbringing so we listened to some classic albums that she liked that helped shape my musical tastes. We also danced like idiots!!!
🥰 Love this! Get the business done, then brak that tension with some good craic!
Year's ago a friend's father, who was retired, explained how he would wake up in the morning. He would look out the window and wave to all the people going to work. I don't do that!
You may be safer that way these days
sausage is NOT a "salvage operation"
^ Quote of the Day!
My mom said keep your head and bootie covered and u will stay warm
Helps to have your feet warm also!
Got that right!!
Younger, I hated wearing winter hats and big warm boots
Many times it was the venue - coat checks were a thing of the past. Good way to lose a great winter coat? Take it out to the clubs or bar hopping. So instead you'd skip it because why would you wear something old or tattered over your "going out" clothes, right? 🥶
I’m in total agreement with you. However, it’s still possible to look super cute and sexy even when bundled up. Because, there’s nothing appealing about a shivering woman with ice cold hands and feet. 🥶🤣
That gets easier with age (and increased discretionary funding). Plus, I don't bar hop or go clubbing like I did during the Early Days :ROFLMAO:
Morning all there is snow in the mountains this am👍👍
I've seen flurries a couple times... nothing significant or sticking here yet. A bit concerning but love there's no icy roads yet.

Work is a Four Letter Word. As usual. The weasels are weaseling, also as usual. We're prepping for the rest of the week, and a Wednesday unit is going to be . . . challenging. So we'll swap it with Friday's one unit and it'll balance out. That's among the reasons I'm here. Teh Boss says it's quiet so he leaves us (me) alone. We did have one crying the blues this morning, but she wasn't home and had done no prep, so we did it for her and got 'er done. She had 2.5 weeks notice, so Wat has no sympathy.

Wat, why are you so mean????

My sister came over yesterday afternoon so we can deal with some legal and financial stuff regarding my mom today.

Let It Bleed by the Rolling Stones
London Calling by The Clash
Los Angeles by X (who we saw in September)
Inflammable material by Stiff Little Fingers.

Then we listened to some random 45s (old Blues, British Invasion, British Nod revival and 70s funk)

It got me over 23k steps!
Love SLF. They went from protest songs about 'The Troubles' in Northern Ireland to some gloriously soulful ballads.
One of my all-time favourites here, which is lyrically immense. In fact the lyrics are so good, I've copied them separately.
Enjoy!

THE PRICE OF ADMISSION
(Fingers/Ogilvie)

So somebody's told you how to be a man
Just fuck 'em and leave 'em
And score as many as you can
But always have someone who's close to your heart
And if you want to keep her, keep her in the dark
Cos you love her, so you just can't tell her
Yet that's a lie and you know full well

You have to pay the price of admission
You have to pay the price of admission
You have to pay the price of admission
Sometime in your life
Somewhere along the line

And now she tells you that she's fucked others too
She didn't spend those nights waiting in on you
But though she gave her all, she never gave her heart
And she wants to keep you so she cannot keep it dark
Cos she loves you, so she has to open wide
she lets you in up close and blows away your pride

And you have to pay the price of admission
You have to pay the price of admission
You have to pay the price of admission
This time in your life, and lay it on the line

So somebody showed you how to be a man...

It is very moving and I am always close to tears remembering my grandfather and what he went through at Ypres. Yes feeling a lot better thanks!
I had a great uncle in the south pacific. My family where farmers and they had another job.... feeding soldiers.... my mom was a bitty girl and remembers harvesting milk weed for clothing padding and collecting old tin... also my grandma having a garden she would share with those less fortunate ... it was all hands on deck

Long weekend during which I have picked up a stomach bug doing the rounds. I won’t give TMI but needless to say I have gone through a lot of Tissue.

It was Remembrance Sunday so two services to manage. The weather was horrendous in the morning but we got through it. The sunset service was moving as ever as our lone piper played at our beacon. Unfortunately, can’t upload a video here due to size.

We had a wonderful sunset tonight to lift my spirits.
Thank you for that... I hope you're feeling better.
