The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Big day today. Happy Monday to all. Gonna be hectic. Well…hectic for me…I know a couple or three of you that will be like, “I could knock that shizz out in two hours!”

Get my new gas tanks today. They didn’t say when, so it’s one of those hang out till they come over. Finish my return to work paperwork today and so after the holiday, I’m in danger of dropping in your neighborhood again. Beware!

Momma has her surgery on Wednesday…so me and the youngest are drawing straws for who gets to sit in with her and for how long. I can’t deal with anymore broken backs. Gotta plan a supper for her for the next few. Good thing we went out and grabbed a ham for Thanksgiving…I might just raid it early!🤣

Have a great day…or as good a Monday as you can!

Good luck to your momma on her surgery! I'd go ahead and break out that ham! Thanksgiving isn't just one day! 🫂💞🫂

Work front: good news: the good crew is slaying this shit. They make better coinage doing it faster, and their shit is dah good shit. They'll be done tomorrow not long after lunch.

Mom front: poor news: her facility is putting her out come Friday. I count it to Saturday, but I'll lose and we'll never get transport on Saturday anyway. So we have to scramble and find a bed somewhere. I think that Baby Bro Yo has one lined up, as long as the place doesn't smell like week old yurn. Speeling apurpose. So Wat will ditch work at 1030 and bolt back to the big city and start sorting shit out.
Social workers at the facility should be working on a discharge plan.😤😡🤬 They can't just chuck her out without a safe place to land. 🫂

She must be a fantastic cook! And definitely up to the challenge!

My husband didn't get the soap gene either; we both enjoyed cilantro in our guacamole. 🥑
She is an excellent cook and very patient and has a good sense of humor. She is a survivor of stage 4 breast cancer as well. Close calls give one a unique perspective on life and our loved ones.

Not quite the 3 am club but does 4 am count?😂.

What weighs on my mind this morning is my health. I don’t like my aging body.

First I have unexpected weight loss: 10 pound in 2 months. The blood work looks normal so now onto CT scans and oral contrast. IV contrasts cause kidneys to malfunction and hurt!

Then my dentist worries about my front teeth and gums bleeding. This is unusual as front teeth always are brushed. I try not to Doctor Google and live by an old saying:” Never trouble trouble until trouble troubles you”.

True. They can’t just chuck someone I don’t think. I remember i had to do some scrambling and find a place we liked when it happened to us, but the social workers still helped out, arranged all of the transport and stuff.

Wow! I hope he’s improving… that’s a long time… but prob better than the alternative.
Yes. He was informed by the doctors to start dialysis or hospice. He should have started dialysis last year. He is stubborn and it’s his decision. It’s working out now but I felt bad for my sister who was on pins and needles for a year.

Oh gosh b2… I’m thinkin about you brother. Doesn’t mean anything, till you get some definitive news or test results.

Thinking abt you brother. ❤️🙏

WAS? Either way it is a great set up!
Thanks! Well see. I still have a little more work to do to get it more airtight, although you do need adjustable vents to bring in some designed airflow.

Mr Google sez:

Solar kiln airflow is crucial for proper drying, using fans to circulate hot air through the wood stack to carry away moisture. To achieve this, fans are typically positioned to push air down the front of the pile, forcing it through the gaps between boards (created by stickers) and out the vents. Achieving the correct airflow rate (around 150 feet per minute through the sticker openings) prevents damage like wood stain or case hardening, ensuring a uniform and effective drying process.
