I’ve been thinking some sort of herding dog.Thanks. I need either a full time nurse or a service dog that bites her every time she tries to do something she’s not supposed to do!
Left her alone for a couple hours yesterday when she was supposed to be napping, and I could go get cleaned up and get the food ready to bring over later. Get over there, the damn Manger Scene has been set up on the TOP SHELF over her TeeVee…no way to do that except stand on the step coming down into the den and lift these things over your head, set them up, and tinker to get them just right.
Wits end I tell ya…
Other than that we had a very nice scaled down Thanksgiving supper. Just the right amount, wasn’t too stuffed. We put the Great Nut Cake Unwrapping off till today. I left the youngest with her last night and he and I are going to set up the tree and other decorations this morning. The actual decorating the tree we’ll wait for the kids to get back from TX.
It’s cold…gonna light the fire and sip a strong coffee…

I hope that all of my US friends have had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. For me it’s all about Christmas … and yes I have used the word in November but in the context of your celebration lol. I am now looking forward to a week with family in a few weeks and a special birthday for The Management! Planning almost completed … just a few loose ends to tie up.

Today wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be. I dressed for it and wore my insulated carhart overalls over my regular clothing: It was perfect when the sun was out - a little chilly when it wasn’t.
The inside of the kiln was a good 30° warmer than the outside temp.
Got the back of the kiln all skinned in and hung the fans and cut the vents into the doors. This thing is really coming together!
Next step is to insulate the doors and back. Paint it black. Mount the vent doors.
Then wrap it and hang the siding.

Tomorrow’s firewood day tho. It was too windy to be out there with all of those dead ash trees. There’s a reason they call those dead ash trees widow makers.

I rarely if ever hear a weather forecast for “no travel” but tomorrow afternoon it’s on. A forecast of heavy snowfall. Yikes. I am staying home to watch the game.

I had an aunt who was cleaning gutters 2nd story house. She died on the sofa after going outside to do yard work.....

We werent clise. She was my grandmas (a saint) sister and she did some undèhanded stuff to my grandma...

My grandfather was out running errands and came home for lunch, had a heart attack in his front hall and checked out within the hour. I have the chair he sat in as he died. Ethyl sharpens her claws in the ugly fabric. I may get it covered in something decent one day.
Now she's looking at me.
I'ma gonna crash. Glad to put this day in the done column.
