Great day on the hill yesterday with my young dog Jack excelling himself. Then as we left the mist rolled into the valley and the sun set. Amazing place to live.

Oh, gosh! Me, too! I took the trash out three times tonight! Trash & recycle day is tomorrow; I was so proud of myself for getting the bins out early. Then remembered I forgot to take stuff down. Did that. Came back up. Saw more that needed to go out!

Try that with a multiple helping of ADHD as well!

My mom would special order her vehicles with a manual transmission. I think the only automatic she had was her Prius. She really wanted one and bitched mightily that she couldn't get it in a stick.

Dr. Tyler gave up on sticks in the 80s sometime. Wat never did, of course. I prefer my gear choices to what the transmission thinks it should do. I do like Petunia's choices most of the time, but the she has a funky 8-speed, so she has a lot to think about.


The big anvils have the three-on-the-tree and a planetary overdrive arrangement. That is its four-speed. You go through the gears, reach speed, and then tooken your foot off the gas and then reapply it, and it will have shifted into overdrive in the interim.


We can discuss swapping the differential gearing another time. Fortunately, there be options.

He didn't let my Helper Human reach over the bed to where I was. That was his purview. He stood up and grabbed her arm to stop her. No pain, just direction. He was a bit possessive. It was funny to watch.
