The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Morning all. The bad weather reported on this here forum is finally rolling in. Just saw a banner that reported cooler temps. I’m all for cooler, just not cold! I’ve moved all the plants to the porch, so gonna be pizzed if I have to move them back in.

Darts…third place…basically covered the entry fee. Had fun, so can’t complain. Starting the process to purchase a new bang stick. It’s an investment ya know.

Supposed to take momma out to shop for some things she needs around the house. She has a halogen light that keeps burning out the bulb. I’ve used gloves to replace but they don’t seem to last more than a couple of months. Thinking I might just replace the whole fixture. It’s out on the porch so, probably not the best fixture, but it was something my dad put in.

Anyhow…everyone have a great day.

Today’s Iconic Rock Shot MZ is one those of us of a certain age will probably instantly recognize. No photog info as I just took a screen shot off a video. The little light by the flag pole is actually a helicopter hovering doing the top shots for the videos. This was basically the album art for the Live version that was put out.

The set up here is Bono on top of the Marshal Stack, during the performance of Electric Co. during the performance at Red Rocks 5 Jun 82. The performance would become the live album Under a Blood Red Sky. The video is funny because after every song, Bono would say “thank you, Good Night!”…they did this because they knew they would remix the performance for the album and wanted that line in to end the last track and not knowing at the time what songs would make the Final Cut…they just had him say it after every song.

The wind pulled back to a steady breeze and now snain! Big puffy flakes pouring down with rain. Down to 41 now.
That "spring" we got a taste of didn't last as long as I would have liked. The wind is changing my diet. When I cook on the stove or in the oven I make much more food than needed.
Same

Definition: “No-see-ums, also known as biting midges, are tiny insects that belong to the Ceratopogonidae family. Although they are hard to spot due to their minuscule size, their bites are painful and itchy, often leaving red, swollen welts on the skin. These pesky insects are often confused with mosquitoes, but they are actually much smaller and pack a surprisingly powerful punch when it comes to their bites.”.

And they drive humans crazy and the wildlife too.

I have no idea what they are here. But I have never seen one. The women will not go out back with me when I cook on the grill in summer. They terrorized the dog.
OFF spray does have an effect but I feel like I need to shower before I sit on any furniture.
When I cook I have a large fan blasting at the chair where I sit. It works. But I would need one fan per person if I was to have company.
In summer I beg for winter mostly because there are no bugs in winter.

Aka bastards from the pits of hell

It was 89 yesterday. Temp is down to 40 (fahty) and it has rained most of the day.

No trim lumber got wet because none got loaded because it can all wait until Friday. There will be sun then.
Now its 46 and bright sun, light breeze. The snow is melting if it is in the sun. We got short of 2" that made slush on the road for a while.
Perfect shopping weather. I had all the roads, stores and bored employees to myself. I like getting first pick of all the fresh market shelves. I'm so easy.

Yep. Slush is slushin' on outta here. It's all kinds of bright with the sun now blazing away on it. It isn't going to freeze on the truck, I don't think. I may go out with the broom in a bit and chase it away.
