Today is a final blast of cold and wind. Then here comes the warmer weather later this week. My granddaughter and daughter have strep throat. So no holiday celebration today but only when we are all healthy.

The flu cases increased 4x in this state during the month. I am staying away from sick folks.

The plan is baking, groceries as I need to replace my coffee reserve, and watching more football.

Got up early and read for a while, then took a nap while my PT ran. Two birds, one stone. 😂

I made mini pumpkin waffles. Shape, not flavor. 🤢
Healthy waffles - with protein powder, ground flaxmeal, and hemp hearts. Served with a teeny bit of butter on top, but no syrup.🤤 😋
And coffee... yummy, yummy coffee!
(Also fortified with a liquid collagen & whey protein supplement - makes it taste lightly sweetened)

We had a nice lazy morning. I fell back asleep and woke up at 9.

We finally got to our farm and am cleaning out junk. Bundled and recycled maybe 150 lbs of cardboard. Straightened out and cleaned. An electrician friend of mine is gonna put in some decent shop lights and upgrade the electric. I am psyched. Found some good old saws and saw blades for our farm building.

Power was restored at the farm around 3. It had been out since Friday night.

Then we took a walk up into the woods. It was gorgeous out. No one was hunting. But a MASSIVE ash tree came down in the woods. That’ll be good for 1-1.5 cords of firewood. I’ll have to see the quality of the wood.

At least 30-36” at the trunk.

Came home and I split some oak kindling and bundled it up for sale.

I had 2 kitties (Wat 🤨 ). My other kitty was black w/ a little white marking on her breast. They we the most excellent cats someone raised without any animals could have had. It's been 20+ years and I still miss them both.
If I weren't so allergic, I would have the biggest clouder local ordinance would allow.

How your day sometimes goes, when you're in your 70's. Mine started as expected; reporting to our local hospital at 0615, for a procedure under general anesthesia. Woke up, feeling not nauseous, or foggy brain, big plus.

Wife accompanied me as my designated driver. Nurses went to retrieve wife to meet me in recovery. Nurses return w/o wife, concern on their faces. They explain on the walk to my room, wife who uses a cane fell in the hallway on her hip. Said they'd take me the ER after I dressed.
We sat in ER waiting room an hour or more, waiting on results. She's admitted with broken hip.

Surgery tomorrow at 0800, full hip replacement.
Neither of us know my daughter's or granddaughter's phone number without our cells. Left mine at home intentionally, she left hers at home by mistake. Fun day, she rated her pain level at a 9.
p.s. I violated the no alcohol rule for 24-hours around hour 12. Merry Christmas, LOL

He has one at home too and his son is really going to have to help him out a lot.

Hoyer lifts are amazing! So much better than trying to muscle a patient back to bed manually.
