The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Well, 8 hours later we have arrived at our hotel with only one hold up. Someone inconsiderately drove off the freeway and down the embankment thus requiring one ambilance, two fire trucks, and three police cars. Sounds like a Christmas song if it weren’t so bloody serious! Pray for whoever was driving.

A question for the nurses: how many days on antibiotics before I can safely be around my grandchildren with strep throat? My grandson just started on antibiotics today.
Not one of our medical staff... I've always heard Fever Free First then 24 hours minimum... a full 48 is best.

Personally, I still limit physical touch with those ill and anything they've touched just in case... because germs (i.e. bacteria, viruses, etc.) DGAF

🫂 hope they feel better soon and the full course of meds knocks the bugs out.... and that you stay healthy yourself.

Someone with strep throat can typically be around others after being on antibiotics for 24 to 48 hours, provided their fever is gone and they're feeling better; the key is starting treatment, as untreated strep is contagious for weeks, but antibiotics quickly reduce transmission, making 12-24 hours a good minimum before school/work,

Thank you. I will check tomorrow with my daughter.

Update on my wife's mishap while visiting me in the hospital. Her first full day of physical therapy in rehab facility. Since I convinced them to stop giving her tramadol, her dizziness is mostly gone, and she was walking laps around their large gym, using her walker. By the end of the day, I could see her increasing her speed(not excessively), and she even managed to go up and down four steps using just the handrails. She's motivated to GTHO of there. She's not very impressed with the food choices, so that's extra motivation.

He doesn't know apples. Yet. He will
Mmm, apples... crunchy, tasty apples. Well, the ones I eat. LOL 🍏
I think that we got all the ingredients required for Xmas supper, which I plan to make on Saturday after the kids get here.

Except weasel paste. The damned store was slam out.
Have a wonderful visit and meal with The Offspring, @Wat_Tyler 🫂

Sounds like she's making good progress... with, sadly, plenty of motivation for discharge. Wishing both of you continued good healing and recovery. 🫂

Yes, for just a short time so far. I could see her getting depressed later on. While we were often apart during my work trips, we were never apart on Christmas in decades. Of course I'll be going in to be with her, but in her mind, we're still apart. I have to keep up the cheerful attitude.
