I love stuffed cabbage. The funniest thing is tge best i ever had were from a hospital cafeteria at an er i worked at.... they were yum

We were gonna have it for dinner last night but sometime this weekend. The guy was from Poland and said his mom does all the cooking. She makes 50 stuffed cabbage every week and 500 pierogies he said.

I’ll just say the company I work for is based out of Columbus…so don’t hold it against me when I say I take a perverse pleasure when OSU loses..

Having said that, and having no dog in the fight, that was an entertaining game, and honestly I think it opens up the playoff. OSU made a game of it when they could have just rolled over and died.

One of my dearest friends is from Columbus. We were in the Army together and he was a saber bearer in my wedding. HUGE OSU fan! His son in law played for Miami of Ohio and got a portal transfer to Texas Tech. My daughter in law is from the Lubbock area. Long winded way of saying I’m jumping on the RedRaider bandwagon!

Momma is making black eyed peas and collards. My meager contribution is cast iron cornbread….spent all afternoon watching my granddaughter. She’s a two yr old Swifty…as I accompanied her on guitar, she sang into the guitar stand…her fill in microphone. It was a moment that should have been filmed, but there was nobody around and I didn’t want to break the spell…

Happy New Year!

Stick to those resolutions. I’ve actually started on mine back in December…just need to knuckle down and hang in there.

My mom was a Hoosier so I am rooting for Indiana. She grew up in Illinois and then moved to rural Indiana when she was 11 and grew up on a farm.

But the stats don’t look good for any of those teams who have had time off!

We shall see!

I am working at the farm today, but have recorded all of the games so will FF thru the commercials and half times.

Now I just gotta pay bills and then get outside!

I hope 2026 started well. We had lunch with mum and my friend around. She lost hubby six years ago so we invite her for lunch. But my God can she talk . She is eighty but the vocal cords of someone sixty years younger. She discovered the singing voice of her teens and posts online.

I am happy for osu to win when they deserve to win... when they dont win i will not fall on the hari kari sword that many armchair osu coaches fall on... for me as long as alabama doesnt win i am good. Did u see tcu beat usc in their bowl game with 2nd string qb who hasnt taken a snap since 2023.... in OT..... THAT was so exciting.

It is tough to lose weight... battle every day. I think i have the christmas weight off.

Since they’ve reshuffled the deck with the playoffs and many teams passing on bowl games, I’ve sort of tuned out to be honest. I hate all the monkeying with conference realignment and now the playoff system.

It really does a disservice to teams like TCU and USC (I didn’t see the game) by spreading the lower tier bowls out over a couple of weeks instead of the NYE and NY’s Day bowl overload it used to be. I did catch Duke vs ASU in the Sun Bowl.

I always attempt to catch that bowl as I lived there for 5 yrs and SWMBO and I met at the Sun Bowl night before party exactly 33 yrs ago yesterday. We partied with Vern Lundquist all night! The gal that introduced us, was in charge of the handling the CBS announcing crew (She was part of the SunBowl welcoming committee) for the week. I got to go to a week of high rolling parties leading up to the big game…so the Sun Bowl holds a little nostalgia!

But the games are on. The house is warm and I am steady eating my way through the holidays.

Love the bowl games. The Big 10 has been having a good year in the games. I was disappointed that OSU lost. I was not surprised that Michigan lost with a Freshman QB and an embarrassing scandal with the head coach.

As an alumnus, I was embarrassed about the coaches behavior, the AD for not knowing (or did he look away like he did with the disgraced hockey coach) and a department that needs major house cleaning. Until the AD is gone and the department cleaned up, I will not speak up in defense of my university.
