The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Yeah, I paid $750 for this Russian Tula Arsenal one. It was obviously professionally refurbished by the russkies… it was in really nice shape - Red birch I think. I didn’t take any pics today tho.

My nephew owns some eastern bloc version, I cannot recall which.

I gave him my SVT40 a few weeks ago. He put it back together, did some research on the gas system, bought the adjusting tool for it, and he says it shoots like a champ. I'm glad he's pleased.

He still doesn't have enough respect to call me Godfather . . . .

I think I understood abt half of that!

Maybe 3/8 of it.

@Wat_Tyler - what is the percentage of that? 😂
Ha. Forgot I whined about that. Millisecond power outage corrupted the boot record of the virtual machine I use for most communication and of course the perversions that led me to find Lit. I was able to access this disk, so I copied all the important stuff and app/data directories. The license is so old and probably from a VLK that it is digital. Meaning I do not have a key for win11Pro because the virtual hardware has been upgraded as needed as well as the OS. Originating in 2006 I think it was Windows 7. 20 years, it was like being adrift at sea and dropping the sextant over board. Breaking my crystal ball to the internet. Anyway, with the good backup of existing files on the system, I was able to install on the same virtual machine settings and Microsoft activated my digital key. Been selectively copying files back have been able to restore most of the settings and themes my upgrades carried over. So my Win11 still looks like and has most of the more desirable features of Win 7 and 10. I haven't figured out how to get the old timey photo editor that used to come with MS Office back. Nor can I find all the tweaks that kept the Microsoft ads and junk from coming up. At least not without disabling things I need or want.
This is the url to the Hoppin' John's. Pretty easy and I only deviated to add more hot pepper flakes and jalapeno I think. And 5 cups of rice is cooked rice. I can't imagine how much rice 5 cups would make. But this was a good one.

And talk like Marlon Brando!

SVT 40 is cool. complicated but cool. Sounds like he’s got the gas system dialed in..
