Good morning denizens of this greasy spoon. Normally I would be doing grandpa taxi but the cold and light snow is making that doubtful. Slippery roads are not in my contract .

Clearing snow off roofs reminded me of a saying:” There may be snow on the roof but there is fire in the furnace”

I saw there was snow in the south; stay inside and wait for the warmth.

Health: it’s difficult to stay physically and mentally healthy this year with this cold and snowy winter. Hang in there folks!

My daughter told me she saw snow flakes here in Tampa. I kept looking out but I did not see any. I am OK with that!

Better to be safe than sorry. I would open up the attic stairs and throw some salt up on the roof. l had a friend that was a roofer and he fell off a roof but survived. Maybe a flat roof would be OK to clean off but even they will melt over time. Anyway, BE SAFE

It’s been 2 weeks. I know he is trying to keep his breathing normal so he doesn’t get pneumonia. I suspect it hurts to breathe with those broken ribs. He is one year younger than me to the day.

I am sure it must be unpleasent. I am a big fan or pain meds in moderation. I took enough of them when I had surgery and my son told me how to time my push on the button to get a little extra kick from the pain meds. If I was in real bad pain the nurses could give me a fentanyl.

Oh, my! Whoo-fucking-hoo!!! I've finally caught up! Sorry I haven't been on as much lately. I hope I don't get assigned latrine duty again for being AWOL!

I baked today! I decided to try G's shortbread recipe. IDK if anyone else has tried it. If so, what did you think? The cookies turned out pretty good! The dough was STIFF! And a bit crumbly. I'm thinking the next time I make this, I will add a bit more butter. And maybe roll the dough thinner to make sandwich cookies with jam.
