The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

For sure. 10” of snow so far. Seems to be much more the more you go south and east of us.
Here 30 miles west of DC it looks like it is raining on the 3 or so inches of wet snow. Occasional wind gust. That is supposed to pick up later. Everything is closed school wise. Nothing like what those north of us got. The weather map last night when it really kicked in looked like a big spinning broom sweeping all the sand from the coast line. I hope the shore comes back.

Nice article on a smaller, niche player in the NJ pork roll/taylor ham wars!

This explains why I always had pork roll prepared for me. I couldn’t eat a whole slab of that myself. The bar where I first experienced it closed not too long after I moved up there. It was kind of dirty. Like a layer of grease was on everything. But I’d loyally go by and roll up my sleeves so the juice didn’t get all over my sleeves as it ran down my arms. That stuff is so good.

Jersey shore 20"-22" and still snowing. South Jersey 74 mph. Winds.
I’m done with wind for this year. Glad this one got pushed clear of us. I cleared the snow off my deck about 7 last night and tan the grill to sear a sirloin steak for us. Steady breeze. The slushie is under the awning because the snow floats sideways.
Looks like it will wam up when it passes. Better start pushing snow off now. It’s gonna weigh like a ton of bricks when the sun hits it.

When is it supposed to stip?
Maybe around noon, but it’s not really snowing very heavy right here.

As oldermom mentioned, south and east along the Jersey shore, Long Island (and into Boston area) are getting hit pretty hard with heavy snow and really high winds. I don’t think it’s supposed to stop snowing in the Boston area till early morning tomorrow.

I think for those areas it will be a historic storm.

But inland where I am not too bad.

Morning Spooners. Busy day, laundry, haircuts, and all the accoutrements to heading back out on the road. Let’s tick off the things I get to look forward to…

1) Snow bomb in the North? Or, what we used to call winter around here…
2) Mexico blowing up…was just in and out of there three times over the last two months…had even planned a fishing trip…SWMBO, just nixed that🙄

So…all of our peeps up yonder. STAY WARM! I guess that furry rodent wasn’t lying this year…

Any travelers in Mexico…BE CAREFUL! This has been building for a while. There was huge protests over a politician getting off for a hit and run when I was there two-three weeks ago. it’s a tinderkeg…

It’s Monday…nothing I can really add to brighten that up.

It was a cartel leader killed when a task force tried to arrest him. My Canadian peeps that winter there had their flights cancelled to guad returning from a ski trip in BC. So lucky. Literally dodged a bullet. Their neighbors shared video from near the airport where task force retreated and cartel people were taking back control. The chaos in the news photos is rioting similar to George Floyd protests. The cars and busses burnt up were road blocks made so cartel members could get away. This will happen a few more times before there are accurate news reports. Don’t be surprised to learn the task forces are US backed. More to come.
