The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

I did too much yesterday, to the point I'm going to have to take real pain meds instead of ibuprofen and white knuckles. Working on another chapter of Leopard and Missy Myers Cleaning Day while I wait for it to kick in.

...coming back from green Chicagoland makes it hard to get re-accustomed to the brown-all-around setting here.

Yeah, living in the green(er) Midwest is definitely a contrast from growing-up in the Mojave. What I do miss is the horizon-to-horizon... horizon... with the blue mountains off in the distance.

It's been quite busy here at Duleigh's dog house. I finally got All Aboard Andi's Dream chapter 12 finished and submitted, I have no idea why that took so long. I wrote 40k words in Captain Scarlett in just a few days. 40k words for Andi's dream took weeks.

Do you sleep, Mr D, or does Mrs D simply plug you in at night?
Just before I went to bed last night I sent a book off to my publisher, it was to finish up a 3 book series. He complained it was too long... by about 100 percent. 230k word books are too long? with a diligent bit of editing that took me into the wee hours I submitted two books. Mrs. D complained but I informed her that I just doubled our income on that book. She enjoyed that and now my 3 book series is a 4 book series with a possible 5th book on the way, but first - the Adventures of Captain Scarlett!

Today and tomorrow I'm taking a short break from writing, I have a hot tub to drain and an ebike to assemble, tomorrow I have to work at the county Emergency Operations Center, then a reader will be in town and we're going to explore Amelia Island, then back to it, I have my first LW story to prep for Summer fun.

Coffee is on for y'all!

Hot tub is draining, the ebike went together quickly. I asked the Mrs. who it was for and she said, "You." Cool, now all it needs is air and electricity...

It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring...

And drooling, farting, and occasionally digging his claws into my foot. Nineteen is very old for a cat.

I have housework to catch up on from yesterday, and the mail chickens arrive tomorrow. Their palace is not complete.

Good luck managing the pain and sending wellness wishes your way

I got my ebike put together and tweaked and took it out for a spin - and the handle bar spun loose. Back to the garage to clean up my road rash.

Tweaked and tightened everything again and took it out for a spin - I turned the key and the battery popped off. I reset the battery and got the electronics started and we went for a ride around the block. It is the first bike I ever rode with disc brakes so... back to the garage to clean up my road rash.

I adjusted the brakes and gave it another go. It's a "hybrid" so if it's turned on and you turn the pedals it goes. I was doing 20 MPH before I realized what was going on. Total fun!

I just finished the second story in the Just a Friendly Transformation trilogy today. The publisher put the first one for sale today, and the cover for the first one isn't what I showed before. The AI model has eye shadow and liner, manly cheeks, pink lipstick, and face fuzz. The second one is more like what I showed before, and the last one will be post-transition for the characters. She's keeping her dick; most of my trans-girls do and are the fortunate ones whose cocks still function.

I've been writing so much I haven't had time to play.

...so... back to the garage to clean up my road rash. ...

Hopefully you'll have better luck with the bike from here on out. Those ebikes can really move when they have to!

Has to be better than the road rash I got week before last... from the dog going after another dog when I'm attached to the other end of the leash. Dragged me through gravel for a good 20 feet. Gawd that dog is strong. Contusion to my leg is almost healed up.

Big party this weekend at the campground - annual event of about 200 swingers itchin' to get into some sort of trouble. We keep to ourselves, and will hasten our escape Friday morning. We always fear this annual bang-fest because our cabin is rented to party-goers, but the two previous years they've treated it well. Fingers crossed.

Mail chickens? You don't get your chickens the natural way - from the hardware store?
These are a favor to a friend- her company transferred her unexpectedly somewhere she can't take them. She asked if they could come join my flock of misfits- poor little desert chickens are in for culture shock. I don't think they've ever seen grass before. I'll post pictures.

New coop is finished. I am hurting. My meds make me useless until at least noon if I take them at night, so we're treating the pain with a cocktail, frozen strawberries, a half teaspoon of sugar,2oz of my rose orange vodka, and sparkling water over ice. Delicious, low cal, and I should be able to sleep soon enough to make my 9am rendezvous with the truck bringing my new chicks to my local PO.

Thanks! I've mostly adjusted to being partially crippled, but some days I flip through my old pics and videos, especially my pole dancing stuff, and want to cry. It feels like several lifetime ago, not five years.

Hello Everyone. Just dropped by to say hello. No changes here. Except for my printer. My Mac did an auto-update a couple of days ago. Today I sent a print job to an HP8600 printer/copier/fax. It refused to print!

I figited with the usual, turn everything off and on again. Then check the print setup. Gave up. Called Apple. No luck, said to kindly call Hewlett-Packard.

"Your printer is twelve years old, you old guy! We just happen to have a special now that Apple's software doesn't support you!"

It arrived today, and I called HP after the software auto-detection crap failed. They walked me through it and I'm back sort of to normal. The new printer doesn't have a fax. Not a killer deal. It prints color better than the old one.

@Duleigh, be careful where you park and charge that bike. There's been a number of house fires started by lithium batteries spontaneously combusting.

Afternoon tea and coffee time, if anyone's interested. I have a blueberry and white chocolate scone to go with it. :giggle:

Good morning all, busy day on schedule today, I volunteer a few hours over at the county Emergency Operations Center, then I've got a meeting with @Campus77 this afternoon, he's in town and we're going to go wander around Amelia island and talk about books.

Coffee's on!!!

@Rustyoznail - don't worry about the lithium, I hear these are all over Australia now:

Today is the day before a colonoscopy so I am going to be miserable as I prep for it. Is it any wonder that the doctors have to continually badger us to get our colonoscopes? Anyway, I can still enjoy a cup of Earl Grey as I watch the weeds growing in my flower beds. Well, at least taking care of them will distract me from thinking about chocolate.

Mmmmm ... chocolate ....

Hello, all, and the top of the morning to you. No, not a drop of Irish in me. I just love the saying and was watching an old movie with a lot of Irishmen in it. What's in the pot this morning?

As a second-generation American, I appreciate D-Day and what it meant for my family, both those from France and Germany. The sacrifices of Americans and the Brits made it possible for me to be me.
