The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

That's because I've been busy. I wrote a long short story (or is it a novelette, at 14,395 words?) for the Halloween contest at another site. Unfortunately, I can't enter it here because of the rules about it only being at their site. A combination of horror and sci-fi masterpiece. NOT!
Fine, Millie. I haven't seen you around very much lately.

I'm DONE!
I've finally submitted my 100th story on Literotica. I truly doubt many people will read it, it's novel length (87k words) but I loved writing every word, paragraph, chapter of it.
Alan Scarlett & the Scarlett Virus

It's another foray into 1950's style Science Fiction, this time getting some inspiration from Orson Scott Card.
Man was that a slog - writing from 7:00 AM to 11:00PM almost every night... and I want to go back and do it again! And I will - Episode #2 in the series Alan Scarlett & The Captain's Daughter (working title) is being sketched out.

The characters in my current story are conspiring. Pretty soon they'll just write the story without me. Maybe I should name them as co-authors.
Check that thought with your doctors before you give your characters co-author credit in your story! :D You may get some different advice from the medical staff.

Hey! Welcome back HP.

That's odd. Not sure why it wouldn't work.

Got your message via the courier. Hope the port helped.

Long time no see, @dmallord. I was wondering a couple days ago if you were still with us, and found your posts in politics.

Good morning, all. And sundry. Or good afternoon. Or evening.

Tea is acceptable here, right?

Started the day by deleting comments from anonymous bigots on a story. Always nice.

Late start today. I think I caught my Mum and Dad's colds last night, feel like shit. I'll have coffee, strong, black, no sweet shit! Make i big assed mug.

My cold is a week old now, and it isn't done with me yet.

I just had a new experience. I blocked on a story months ago and set it aside. Nothing constructive was happening, so I took up another story that I want to have for the holiday contest. I had an epiphany yesterday while working on the holiday story, and this morning I went back to the first story and broke the writer's block.

I still need to finish the holiday story, but at least now I have someplace to go with the first story.

I had something kind of similar happen to me yesterday. I’d been stuck where to go after finishing Book 2 of Violet. Everyone was happy, but it wasn’t the end of the story, and I knew that. But I didn’t want Book 3 to be all “and then here’s another scene where everyone is happy.” That’s boring. Even if the sex is good. So I needed some kind of conflict. I had an idea, but it felt flat and forced. And there it sat.

Then I wrote a Halloween story. Got into some other characters’ heads for a while. And when I sat down last night to work on Violet Book 3, 2600 words fell out. That’s such a good feeling.

Unfortunately, I have a job thing I need to do today or I’d write more.
