Drs. say the liver is against me. At my age, no transplant possibility. Home hospice care now. Can't stand the lactulose syrup. It's messing with me. What sane dr. says take it four to six times a day? Assholes... No pun intended.

Maybe. That change means you got 10 stars in 3 votes. You can devise a number of different arrangements for what the actual votes were, but it isn't consistent with past voting any way you look at it.

You might think AH would be a safe place to crow about a success, but it isn't. There are trolls reading these posts.

Yeah, if I invited it upon myself, I wouldn’t be surprised. I don’t tend to think of trolls when I act because trolling is foreign to me.

We probably all learn the same way. I have a story on the Romance top list. Now it's down to page 2 or 3 of the list, but it was on the front page for several years. A well-know AH participant (mod on another forum) opened a thread and asked for Romance stories where the main character(s) didn't have some dark background. I offered a link to my story, and the next morning I had a thank-you from the OP and six shiny new 1* votes courtesy of some anonymous troll. The story was no longer on the front page.

I reported the instance to Laurel, and she fixed it. Since then, I've been cautious about either mentioning a high score or offering links in messages.

There will be some dusting and cleaning of votes prior to determining the standings in the Halloween contest, and your unfriendly votes may be lost.

While I’m sure you know, for the benefit of others, I am equally careful not to moan about one-bombs. Trolls live for the angst they cause from Mom’s basement; to acknowledge upset is to feed them.

You know what would be more fun than the meeting I was just in?

Writing. Writing would be more fun. Staring at a blank screen not having any idea what to write would be more fun. But writing would definitely be more fun.
