The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

I set up the chiminea yesterday and spent some time in front of the fire. Food wasn't involved. I used the time looking for ways to say things so readers would understand without actually saying them.

Today: write, roast more chile's, start the jalapenos fermenting, do the last edging of the yard before winter, watch the Broncos game, clean the big aquarium. Better get hoppin.
Broncos won, I wrote through a hard spot and set up the next scene, and everything else got done.

Only downside: after handling all those jalapenos (like, 5 pounds of them) I started thinking that my hands were feeling the burn and went to the kitchen to wash my hands yet again. One firm pump on the sage-scented hand soap, which was clogged, and the thing squirted off at an angle, straight into my right eye. A lot of bitching a flushing later, and my eye still hurts. It didn't do anything for my vision, either.

A beautiful day for the RAAF Alenia C-27J Spartan to fly in. The crew picked up a couple of defence force recruiters in Melbourne and opened the rear door to give them a better view. I talked to one of them, and she said she turned a bit green. 🤣

I'm confused by the third photo from the bottom. What did they do with the left wing?

I see the RAAF still uses the 'roo roundell. Every time we sent a B-52 to Oz for an air show or something, It would come back with that painted everywhere. I found one inside the tail gun ammo bay - a feat of military graffiti unrivaled to this day!

The Broncos, you got to love them—two wins in a row. I'm as happy as a clam in chowder. A lobster in the pot. A frog after the gigging. A snail on the plate. HUM, why do they look so good some weeks and so rotten awful on others?

In the Chicago area, everyone is just glad the game was 59:55 long. For some reason, it ended a few seconds early. No evidence to the contrary.

Put your fingers in your ears and sing "la la la." It'll all go away.

I think, since the first two games, the first half of the Chargers game was the only time the Broncos looked awful. Even then, if the second half were a little longer then Nix might have rewritten the outcome.

The first two games were no fun at all! An expensive trip to Seattle sucked. We had a wonderful time in Tampa Bay. Didn't make to the Jet's game. Yeah, the defense let us down in the first half, but the offense wasn't offensive in the last quarter. They only needed to get going sooner in that game. Other than the LA game, the six games have been A-Okay.

I forgot about the Jets game, probably because it was such a forgettable game, but a win is a win.

Centrists are always in an awkward position!

It's actually a design feature. It's so the next time there's an Air Show the RAAF can do this much easier

They should be able to get between those tightly spaced office building easily, and much faster!

If Monty Python did Hamlet:

Hamlet: Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio!
Horatio (disbelieving): Oh yeah? What was his last name, then, eh?
Hamlet: ... Hunt.
Horatio (confused): Yorick Hunt?
Hamlet: How dare you! Dead for a ducat! *stabs Horatio*
Yorick's Ghost: It's a joke name, like Biggus Dickus.

(John Cleese as Hamlet, Michael Palin as Horatio, Eric Idle as Yorick)
