I assigned myself the afternoon task of repairing a shower that's been dripping for years. I waited until my wife left for some shopping so I could turn off the water while she was gone. It was still off when she got home.
I got the faucet apart, but couldn't get it back together. Sprayed water everywhere a couple times and otherwise just had a frustrating afternoon. I had some trouble getting the thing back together on the first attempt, and I probably damaged a spring or washer doing it. I eventually put the old spring and washer in with the new cartridge, and it worked in one go. It just took three hours to get to that point.
