Jesus, you people are always so doom and gloom and refuse to recognize there has never been a better time or place to be a human.
According to the interwebs it's clean renewable pumped storage hydro with added nuclear (and some legacy coal & gas plants). Maybe some other states could invest in some of that clean cheap renewable so they can dump the coal, gas and oil plants that pay so much to MAGA PACS.The state of Virginia is the data center capital of the USA. Their electricity rates are between 6% and 15% below the national average. I don’t know how they manage that but it’s worth other states taking a close look.
Do your own homework. It’s a quick AI search on your browser. Stop the talking points from CNN and the DNC. It’s really easy.
Yet, neither of you idiots can back your bullshit up. AI or not.Not for the left. For some reason they like AI but can't figure out how to use it.
And right on cue. The one that asks for facts is provided facts, either doesn’t like them or won’t learn about it, and then resumes the insults. Move to Palestine please.Yet, neither of you idiots can back your bullshit up. AI or not.

Show me the billions. Just one single contract. And right on cue. The one that asks for facts is provided facts, either doesn’t like them or won’t learn about it, and then resumes the insults. Move to Palestine please.
4-day work week, drunkard.Taking the day off today?
So did anyone watch the video? Probably not. The ones that claim to want the facts usually just start insulting people when the facts proven them wrong. The video says that Madison County in Mississippi expects and average of $160 million dollars in tax revenue because of the data centers cloning built there. I know y’all hate the US and capitalism, but facts are facts.
While it is true that datacenter construction will employ some workers that would otherwise be employed in other construction jobs, there are very, very few construction jobs that will provide demand for workers at that level.Other transient jobs.
Construction opportunities ebb and flow. That isn't reliant on data centers.
Lol...one job to construct one purpose or five to construct five? While it is true that datacenter construction will employ some workers that would otherwise be employed in other construction jobs, there are very, very few construction jobs that will provide demand for workers at that level.
A large (300MW) AI Hyperscale datacenter will cost between $9B-$12B and take approximately three years to build. Typically, ten to fifteen percent of that cost will be spent directly in the community for land, construction materials, labor etc. That is roughly $1.5B. The majority of construction will take place between months six to twenty-four, an eighteen month window. That is a lot of labor for a significant amount of time.
The economics change quite a bit after the datacenter switches to operational mode. AI datacenters trend to the lower end of employee count compared to more general datacenters. For the large datacenter above, you are looking at around seventy-five to one-hundred full time employees.
Then there are additional items like local taxes and business licensures and other things. But those are largely negotiated, vary greatly from project to project and rarely are reflective of what a typical company would pay in that community.
It’s not like all other construction stops when data center construction begins. This is a pretty juvenile line of argument. Arguing that data center construction isn’t a large driver of economic activity and employment is a losing position. A data centers ongoing economic contribution is a much iffier proposition.Lol...one job to construct one purpose or five to construct five?

So what will happen “if”? This is absolutely all speculation. So we shouldn’t do things because bad things “may” happen. That’s not very progressive.

I read the article and found nothing compelling. Just a lot of speculation about things that could happen.
Did you find those "billions of dollars" yet?I read the article and found nothing compelling. Just a lot of speculation about things that could happen.
I’ve already explained to you that I’m not going to do your homework. Jesus, move to Palestine or Iran.Did you find those "billions of dollars" yet?
You lied and got put on blast for your poor efforts.
