Convince yourself and your fellow “progressives” to stop consuming the drivers of these “devils” you think exist. Get off your phone and get rid of it. Stop flying. Live 100% off the grid.
Well, put your money where your mouth is. Otherwise, you are part of the problem. And I have no idea what the context of the other conversations were but you are all absolutely being hypocritical. You’re like the actress that makes some brilliant speech about climate change and then hops on her private jet to fly 20 miles. You just want something to be angry and miserable about. Yall have to join together because it’s not possible for miserable like yall to find friends. There has never been a better time to be a human on planet Earth than today. And tomorrow will be even better…and the next day and next and so on.
lol…speculate all you want. It has no bearing on my life. Data centers are inevitable. Rather than arguing against them, we should continue to find ways to ensure they benefit the communities near them which is happening. Go shout at some clouds are something else more useful than arguing about what might happen in the future. For claiming you are the progressive people, you don’t think very progressively.
Both can be contributors to the economic strength of the community. While the construction phase is time limited, much of that investment creates additional businesses that continue to provide jobs and a larger tax base. And despite their critics claims to the contrary, data center developers do spend a lot of money improving the infrastructure of the community they are built in.What matters more?

But cities, counties and states should be realistic about the long term value of such projects and not give away the proverbial farm to the developers. They aren't a perpetual money machine and should not be accommodated as such.
What matters more?
Long term growth or short term gain?
No it's not. This is literally a large bump of short term gain and very small long term growth. This is a false dichotomy.
There is no long term gain here. The latter often contributes to and results in the former. I reject the premise that this is an either/or situation.
The facts say otherwise. Most communities see modest but measurable growth in employment, wages, business establishment and household income. No it's not. This is literally a large bump of short term gain and very small long term growth.
Perhaps your issue is that you don't understand that?

Just get off your keyboards and go look at some of these places and you’ll see what economic engines these are for those areas. And once the DC is operational, there are hundreds of operators, mechanics, maintenance positions needed. Those people need homes that will be built. They will provide a new tax base of well paying jobs that didnt exist before. Those people will need to eat, shop, and have entertainment options.
I get it....you're done debating the topic and have declared yourself the winnerJust get off your keyboards and go look at some of these places and you’ll see what economic engines these are for those areas. as have you. I’ve refuted feelings with facts and been fairly cordial despite being frequently insulted. People say “do some research”. I’ve been on these types of jobs and spoken to the people in the communities that have benefited from them. I’ve seen people with very little education be able to work and provide for their families so the next generation of their family has opportunities they didn’t.

I provided responses to you. And asked additional questions.as have you. I’ve refuted feelings with facts and been fairly cordial despite being frequently insulted. People say “do some research”.
