The Bunny Burrow

I think people read the first post and then give there post without reading anything in between. So if you said something to clarify something else, they don't catch that.

It's not illiteracy. It's either time constraints or they don't care what anyone other than themselves has to say. Or both. *shrugs*

*Nods* I was bitching about my recent thread in Talk, but it seems to happen to me a lot, even when I haven't done what I did in that thread, misuse a word or whatever. I wonder if my communication skills are just lacking!

I dunno. I normally don't have problems understand what you're saying.

But I've noticed you aren't the only one complaining of this. Keroin has for instance.

I've had the same problem, myself. But I'm so random anyway, I think Mister is the only person on the planet that actually understands me when I speak.

*Hugs gracie and satin* I'm glad you can understand me most of the time, gracie. And, satin, I'm sorry you have the same problem. I don't think I've ever really had any trouble figuring out what you're saying, at least not that I can remember.

Also, geez, what is up with the n00bs with the attitude problems lately? You can SO tell that school's out.

Yep, pretty much. We also get a surplus of assholes and trolls during the summer, spring vacation, and winter vacation.

*hugs back fondly* Maybe we're both random. That's why we can understand each other but no one else can understand us. :D

 You have a rust spot!

Don't worry, I've got a bottle of gold spray paint for you to use.

It's invaluable for keeping halo's perfect looking.

Thank you.

Now, do you also have some gin? I am getting perilously low.

That was sweet tea. I don't want my baby to come out like Ted Kennedy! Geesh! :D

I never smelled sweat tea that smell like that, but you want to go with 'sweat tea', we'll go with 'sweat tea'.

Mine is just orange juice, btw. :p

I usually read your questions and want to pick your brain a little more to figure out what's really going on. It's not that you're unclear but I usually do wonder what the rest of the story is. That's no knock against you. I think that about a lot of people here. See KC's thread! I'm sitting there thinking, ok, what does she want, who is she looking for, what does she want from a relationship...I have a lot of follow up questions.
I sometimes want more information, too, though rather than ask for it (figuring that perhaps the OP has his/her *reasons* for not sharing more), I try to answer the question or respond to the observation as clearly as possible. If a follow-up question (or three ;) ) seems to be necessary to give a more complete or accurate response, though, I will sometimes ask - through the thread if it doesn't seem too "delicate" a question, or through PM if it does.

.... I normally cut myself off because I always feel like I write TOO much, which makes people go "Screw reading this long-winded crap," LOL. So maybe I should write more. (She says, as all the bandwidth on Lit cringes.)
Just a thought, but perhaps if, when you have an idea for a serious thread/question, you were to write out the OP in Word or some other wp program, let it sit and germinate for a little while, then go back and read it as if you were another party, you might find ways to edit it to make it as clear as possible before actually posting it. That might help a bit, especially with the lazier readers (see next quote and response). One thing I used to especially emphasize with journalism students writing opinion/thought pieces (editorials, reviews, etc.) was that they needed to focus even more than fact piece writers (straight news/sports-type stories) on the ABC of journalistic writing: A)ccuracy: Get the facts right. B)revity: State them as briefly as possible while C)larity: making sure that the facts and the opinions are as absolutely clear as possible.

Excellent point. It seems that many people "read" serious threads by scanning over the OP, catching a few words/phrases that they have opinions on, and responding only to that without going on to see what anyone else has said in between, including the thread starter making clarifications, corrections, etc.

Actually, your communication skills are, as you well know :p , excellent... and you've been told that before (if you were "listening," LOL!).

QFT

You're pregnant. You aren't required to make sense all the time. :p After Lil BeeGee is born - say around the time she gets weaned - we'll start holding you back to the normal standards :p again.

What the hell were you doing up at almost 3 a.m. your time? Lil BeeGee givin' you a hard time last night? (Or maybe it was Mister! )

Yeah, I wake up about four or five times a night, every night. I have a really hard time sleeping.

Doing things like writing on Lit helps me relax enough to go back to sleep.

I'm too tall for my bathtub. :(

I am, too. I live in a rental. Read: small tub. I still climb in and put my legs up on the edge (which is good for the lower back, anyway), and let the heat relax my back muscles. Do you have a body pillow? I love mine.

Actually, what you need to do is find a pool. Many a pregnant woman has argued with me on this one, then thanked me PROFUSELY when they got home.

The water in the pool will support the weight of the baby, and your back pain will go way. I promise. It's like being un-preggers. Every person I told this too started going to the pool every day, because the relief was so great.

My bathroom is very pretty but the tub is so unpractical and small I often wonder why they bothered to put it in versus one of those nice glass-doored showers. *shrugs cluelessly*

How tall are you?

I'd love to go to a pool regularly, unfortunately the ones here in Muskogee are pay-only (we don't know anyone with a pool in their backyard) and we're broker than jokes right now. Feeding four people and buying baby stuff is expensive. =/ Especially with a mortgage now. That's a luxury we just can't afford.

However, occasionally on the weekends we like to go down to Eufala. My cousin and his girlfriend live within walking distance of the lake (they have their own dock and everything) so I do get to swim sometimes. I also rode on a jet ski this weekend for the very first time!

I don't have a body pillow for the tub, but I do have one for my bed. It consists of my husband and a large stuffed sheep I named "Poly" (short for Polymorph. World of Warcraft joke....I know, very nerd.)

I'm 5' tall. But K's 5'10" and he uses the bath the same way - by propping his feet up on the edge.

Bummer. And been there. In actuality, K and I went to the river when I was preggers. lol But the smell of chlorine gives me a migraine.
