The Concert Series

you know, if I didn't know what you were talking about, I'd say you were drinking and then getting on a boat just to get paddled.

In reality, you're getting into a boat, and then getting snackered on gin. But, you know, those paddles can be used for other things, and your inhibitions would be lowered, when snackered.

Just curious...
Does a gin and tonic have a twist of lime in it?

EDITED to add

No need to answer that in a hurry. I need to get to sleep. Sorry, if I've rambled enough to cause drinking.

LOL

I would prefer to be paddled than to paddle... although paddling is nice on occassion... especially if it is a nice round white yummy butt...

.... Oh and a gin and tonic has a twist if I have a lime....

:D

back to the music

LDW how was Skynard?

I wanted to see Gary Glitter (before anyone knew about his 'other' interests) for years. I loved his music when I was young. My mum used to say that I was too young and he would never be interested in me...How wrong she was:p

I also wanted to see Meatloaf and finally went last Christmas, fantastic, amazing and wonderful. I want to be buried to the song 'Paradise by the Dashboard Lights.' :D

Would like to see Katie Mellour/ Nora Jones/ZZTop/Alice Cooper/Cher/Whitesnake/Darkness.

But would die happy now I have seen Meatloaf.

As an aside my sons think my taste in music and in men is the same...both are rubbish :D

I saw ZZtop last fall... it was a great concert and my seats were pretty good. They so don't take themselves seriously and it shows in how much fun they have on stage. Lots of biker dudes in the place. LOL

I would love to see Nora Jones, too. I saw Boney James a couple of years ago and KennyG in December. Anita Baker is another jazz singer I'd like to see. I love jazz, almost as much as good ol' rock 'n roll.

ADR

I love your pic, you are so pretty with a beautiful smile, you will have all the Dom/Mes drooling :D lucky you.
No wonder they stalk you!!

I have only recently discovered jazz and some i like and some ....lol

I love rock music and especially the older bands who know they have nothing to prove and just have fun with it all.

The only music that turns me off is military music. All those drums, reminds me of my childhood and saluting way, way too much

Oh and dare i say it Cliff Richard another one to make me run screaming to the hills.

I don't know if this link will work or not. But this is one of my favorite Boney songs. He's kind of like KennyG but with more of an edge. There's some jazz that I just don't like, just as there is some rock 'n roll (or music that goes by the label) that I don't like.
I wish I had Boney or Kenny's head of hair, though!

And thank you for the compliment. You are too kind.

Best shows I've seen recently have not necessarily been my favorite bands. My favorite bands are not known for showmanship, but for staring at their pumas.

Pizzicato Five is something that's way less cutesy and cool live, they do big sprawling shows with films and costumes and the volume way way up.

African and diaspora pop groups never fail to put on a show that totally kicks ass. Boukman Eksperyans from Haiti, Baba Maal, Youssou N'Dour, you know it's going to be good when there are at least 15 people on the stage at any given time.

The Magnetic Fields doing 69 love songs as the more serious sit down cabaret act that it really is, in a smallish venue, that was one I'm so happy I didn't miss. Finally, an arrangement and a mix that did the lyrics justice.

Mainly I wish I had a time machine just so I could go and catch shows, people at the height or start of their careers. Bzzzt....tonight it's the Velvet Underground at the Dom, bzzzt....tonight, the Talking Heads and Television at CBGB.....bzzzt...now we'll catch the Sonics at some dumpy hall in Seattle, no danger of me altering the fabric of time ala Back to the Future. I'd be busy seeing shows and getting stoned.

going to skynard tomarrow.

Hope you buy a t-shirt. I never go to a concert without buying one. Someday I plan to make myself a quilt with them.

Oh and have a wonderful time! Can't wait to hear all about it!

You're welcome. I actually prefer this cover over the original song.

Many of you have exposed me to music I have never heard before and probably never would have.

Holy cow!!! Now that's just too damned cool. LOL I love Capt. Kirk.

He was in town here doing a movie and my neighbor's brother was a stuntman on the set. He got to meet him!!!

And I'm a big python fan... I've heard that song and I love it! I'm glad you posted it for anyone who's not heard it.

Thanks ever so much for your additions here, Xelebes!

Do I understand this correctly, that Capt. Kirk covered that Monty Python song? Surely, I'm mistaken.
