The Concert Series

Well, one of my favourite industrial/hardcore/gabber producers has come out with a new song, and I am simply adoring this piece. I think you might find it... good too.

Anywho, SmurfGGM vs. Father Abraham

Big grinnn... Nice to see some Dutch folklore here in Lit. Father Abraham actually scored big time with his song about those little blue rascals back in the days.

Now about who I'd like to meet/see before I die:

Evanescence / Ami Lee

Her writings speak to me.

Hah. When you two are all hot and heavy with each other, I'll catch you off guard and you both could be my next victims.

One watches while the other one gets it. She will know what is in store for her. Which would you rather be? :D

Me? Oh I think I will watch and let the excitement build!:p

Holy cow!!! Now that's just too damned cool. LOL I love Capt. Kirk.

He was in town here doing a movie and my neighbor's brother was a stuntman on the set. He got to meet him!!!

And I'm a big python fan... I've heard that song and I love it! I'm glad you posted it for anyone who's not heard it.

Thanks ever so much for your additions here, Xelebes!

To top it up, I give you the anagram of the lyrics!

Anagram Lyrics

Imagine yourself with a band called the Beatles
You're Masters of Earth - now where to from here?
Eagerly, people await a new album,
They'll buy it, no matter how queer:
You can wear colourful ill-fitting suits,
Stand between photos and sneer.
You can take acid then play utter shit -
So you do!

O, lysergic acid diethylamide.

Then the experiments start to go weirder
As taking a tab seems perfectly fine:
Tracks feature walruses, piggies, and monkeys -
Eventually, "Revolution Nine"...
You sink in deeper then start to see sharks
Gangbanging Ringo all day.
Little white whores kick his penis, which splits -
How he yells!

O, lysergic acid diethylamide.

"Why do your shoes speak so horridly, owl-son?
I unpolish a soapy rope - shove it in how?
How I wish ripe kooky fish would not rain down -
In horror I swoon! Nose thrown now..."

O, lysergic acid diethylamide.

Ah, I missed you bumping this thread. I should actually keep this thread subscribed on my list so I can dig it up when I find neat songs like this.

I should also bump this thread as I am curious to see what other bands or acts you saw.

I just saw Voice Industrie about 3 or 4 weeks ago. They are a semi-large industrial act based out of this city which recently switched to death trance. I liked it.

I also saw VNV Nation which is one of the larger future-pop/ebm (still in the industrial spectra of music). Pretty good, though I probably will not see them when they come around next time.

Combichrist in two weeks. More industrial. I've been indulging in industrial as of late as I am finding acts that I usually like. I've always stayed away from industrial because of Ministry and NIN. But now finding Combichrist and similarr artists, it's enjoyable.

Anyways, who else have I seen so far? LTJ Bukem, George Acosta, Ectomorph.

Living in Las Vegas, I have seen some great concerts. I have a friend who owns a casino and he gets tickets comp'ed to him all the time. That makes it not only great fun (the company is wonderful) but also CHEAP. ;-)

One of my all time favorite concerts was The Moody Blues at the House of Blues. The venue is really small and I was so close I could have tossed a golf ball and hit Justin Hayward.

I still want to see Sting and Rod Stewart before I die. But the last time they were both here the tickets were OUTrageous. My daugher saw her long time idol, Madonna, last weekend. I was sooo jealous. She did buy me a cool concert T-shirt though, and she called me 3 times from the concert. LOL She was really really jazzed.

Who have you seen?
Who do you want to see before you die?

I have seen......Anthrax, Queensryche, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Rammstein, Hawkwind, Metallica, Quireboys, Lizzy Borden and Guns N Roses.

I want to see.......Ozzy, Ronnie James Dio (in any form lol), and Rammstein again!

If I had a time machine, I'd like to go back and see Silly Wizard, the Beatles, Pink Floyd ( I like Meddle better than the Wall, but most of what they produced after the Wall wasn't as good, I think as the previous stuff.) and oh, dozens of acts. In the meantime, I'd like those of you who did see Silly Wizard before they split up to quit tutting me on it, or I'll be forced to annoy you about the age thing.

I've seen Peter, Paul and Mary, Melissa Etheridge, kd lang, Alan Jackson, Neon Prophet, the Molly's and the Chilli Peppers, and several local Celtic, folk, rock and blues bands.

The best show I've been to is a toss up between three. Please don't laugh too hard at the first one but... The last P, P and M show was wonderful. I went with, both sets of grandparents, my parents, 3 of my brothers, my sister in law, their kids, (ages 3 and 6 at the time) blue kat, and me. How mushy/geeky/silly is that? It was the best. Second of the three was Melissa Etheridge. Great music and a hot singer. God, the things her voice does to an adolescent tomboy baby bi jocky geeky chick. It was like, how many buttons can you push at once? Third show wasn't really a concert. It was a dance put on by our local folk organization. They have a pick up band, so you never really know what to expect from the band. But this was when bronntanas was here; he plays guitar and sings, and D's mariposa sings and plays a ton of traditional instruments. But on the breaks between the dancing, when they duetted together, they brought the house down. It was fantastic work. If you guys ever get one or both of them in the same room together, you really owe it to yourselves to beg, bribe or co-erce them into performing for you.

The list of peeps I'd like to see in concert is too damn long. But here's the top few, in no particular order. Three Doors Down, Jim Byrnes (and the Jim Byrnes band of course) Jimmy Buffet, Meatloaf, Norah Jones, and Andrew Cunningham.

Well, now that I am no longer dealing with architorture school because I am on a 15 month work co-op, I have more time (and money) to go to concerts.

For instance, next week, I get to go see the band U.S. at a local bar on Thursday (they are a cover band of 80's rock) always a good time and a good show, have Friday off to recover, then head to Birmingham, AL to City Stages where among the local acts I'll be seeing such as Lynam I'll also get to see Def Leppard .

Yes, it's an 80's hair band weekend for me, but what better way to celebrate a b-day for a guy who came of age in the 80's? :D

Haven't seen too many, but have seen David Bowie twice, in concerts 25 years apart (1978 Western Springs, Auckland NZ and 2004 Sydney Entertainment Centre). Also Gary Glitter in 1976 (ok I was 17 years old!) and went to a couple of three day festivals called Sweetwaters in the late 70s/early 80s which had Elvis Costello, Split Enz, Roxy Music as well as lots of NZ bands from that era.

:catroar: ROFLMAO, sounds like the effect kd has always had on me, concert or otherwise....just sort of makes the room spin, breathing difficult, pulse race, and a sweet floating on pure lust and devotion...and then she sings and everything else fades away. Sheeesh and I thought I was over her. Getting to talk to her was bliss.
