Our power flickered out for like 2 seconds and it fucked up our ac for like an hour and a half and it got up to 78° in here no thank you

It’s 78 here because I refuse to use a/c. In my summer pjs with ceiling fan and window open. I’m comfortable now also no lights to generate heat to room. I will need a blanket to sleep. I will turn on the a/c eventually but we have had record low May temperatures and I want to enjoy the house being open before I turn on the a/c.

I do drink but mostly only when I travel. I just get warm sometimes - my face sometimes flushes red and it’s uncomfortable. Plus I only like a sweet wine or sweet fruit drinks. Other than a salty margarita but not too strong. If it tastes like alcohol then I don’t like it.

One thing I do enjoy tho and these are the particular circumstances: has to be screaming hot outside and either pizza or wings with a super cold beer. So I may have that once or twice out over the summer.

I just made my first batch of fresh brewed iced tea for the warm weather here in VA. That will be my special treat after working in the gardens and potting tomorrow.

Our bedroom is at the top of a California split level house so it’s basically like the third floor and it stays warm no matter what we do, we can get it down to 70°-72° on warm nights but I still wake up hot. I keep our fan on high year round bc I like it artctic in the room to sleep

I am the same way about sleeping but I am in a single level so no warm air rising issues but still run the fan year round!

I need it cold to sleep. There’s a breeze coming in my bedroom window combined with the fan - not cold but soon I need under the covers. I can’t sleep if I’m hot. It was just last week - we’ve had temps in the 40s. And once it gets so hot the corn sweats - well no more open house. I love the fresh air. Nope not a camper in any sense - I like the fresh air on my bed.

I wouldn’t mind keeping it off and opening the windows for a breeze if it was cool enough outside, or if we were on a level where we could get a cross breeze with other windows.
If we weren’t budgeting I’d crank that ac up until our room was 68° max!

This is the key - if it didn’t settle down enough for me to sleep - a/c is on. I won’t be uncomfortable trying to sleep - also known as no sleeping.
