The Cozy Corner

How ScarletDaisy baseballs:

If you have to go to a game, make sure that you have plenty of sunscreen and a large budget for alcohol. Before you go to a game, watch Major League. The numbers don't mean anything. Don't get hit by a baseball.

I love this so much. That'll prepare me for a visit to Dodgers stadium. 😁 Go Shohei.

OK. Batting average is calculated over the course of the season and is a cumulative average. It is simply the number of times a player comes up to hit (at bats) divided by the number of hits the player makes. In baseball a .300 average is excellent which means they are averaging 3 hits for every 10 at bats. Does that make sense?
Do home runs and how many times you run and bases you clear affect that calculation or is that another number?
