The Cozy Corner

So.... My Easter story from last night...

It was after midnight when we got home from church last night. I get the dogs, flip on the back yard light, and out we go.... And there was a big, fat bunny right in the middle of the back yard. I forgot to look! 🫣

The chase was on, but thank goodness the dogs didn't kill the Easter Bunny last night. 🤣🤣🤣

Dogs! The most dangerous enemy for the Easter Bunny! :D

I saw a bunny too but it was during the day and nowhere near as frenetic as that. We just had a little staring contest.

My dog has gotten three baby bunnies. Two survived because she’s a very good girl who drops things as soon as you tell her to (mostly - it’s dicey with chicken wings or sausages). The third was when my niece had her out - luckily she wasn’t too traumatized as she’s super into animals in general and understands that animals hunt each other (and the dog is a hound, so the hunting instinct is strong!)

Many years ago I helped an animal shelter when the shelter was full. I had a dog for a week that was a mix of Greman Shepherd and Labrador. He was very strong but well trained so it was no problem taking care of him. Except when we were out walking. If his path was crossed by a bunny he'd go nuts and tried to catch it! The first time I wasn't ready at all and he almost ripped my arm off. And if I wasn't quick enough to yell "NO!" the rest of the time, he would drag me a couple of yards before he stopped.
