I'm just wanting a good white bread to eat with butter. Something just to get past my initial fear of yeast. I was looking at this from King Arthur

my best advice is to weigh the flour - don't go by cups

Don't be scared of yeast... especially the instant stuff - make sure your water isn't *too* hot and you'll be golden!

Some will disagree but I like King Arthur. Funny, I did work for Pillsbury and other bakers on material handling and automation projects. They weighed everything. My favorite place to hang out was the test kitchen.
 
My sisters and I were anything but angels. Thinking about it now, I have no idea how he handled us. My mother on the other hand, blames us for her gray hair and wrinkles.
I think, sometimes anyway, that larger familie's children learn how to cope and get along and end up being better people. Look at you!

Always weigh. The scale doesn't lie no matter what my mom said. Also...yeasts are pretty much basic white girls....they like to eat and swim but not get too hot or cold.
 
Well I am a dude and definitely not going to be baking anything plus the mess I would be making in the kitchen.. no one needs that kinda trauma in their life.. I will just go fire up the grill and cook some meat to place on the bread 🤣🤣
You need Aussie Damper in your life. Easy to make..cooks right on the coals.
