Good morning everyone! Waffle House…for me heading South it’s a vacation tradition to go there…it’s kind of kitschy in my brain but never been after dark so if it’s sketchy I’ve not had that experience. I have a hard and fast rule about travel and eating. If I have the restaurant at home I refuse to eat there while out of town.

And last time I drove to Florida I discovered Bucc-ees - what an experience! I will say this some of the cleanest bathrooms ever while traveling. And the road snacks … it was jackpot of the selection of everything from pop flavors to popcorn to beef jerky to fudge and all in between. Plus the non food items-
so much shopping.

I struggle with Bucc-ees when we travel. I love love love their bathrooms but the kids take too much time in the store! We lose minutes! But, after about a zillion road trips we finally have it perfected!

But but but that’s the point to a road trip - the beauty of stopping and taking time to wonder. Unless, you’re on a time crunch and have to be somewhere at a particular time for

Oh right! Totally depends. Usually our travel days are just travel days so we play "beat Google Maps"
But on the leisurely travel days? Soak in the adventures!

Bucc-ees is an amazing store if you can find a parking place.

Why have to wash another pan when you can just throw them in the microwave for a few seconds?

Hack- coat the pan with olive oil, heat up for a few seconds. Toss tortillas and cheese on there, flip them. When done, take a cloth wipe out the hot pan very quickly, set to cool. Pan clean ready for another day.

I contain multitudes. I am depressed by the system but the more I learn about it, the better I can empathise as I have a few friends living in the States at the moment and one friend who's about to get married there.

Finally had my first Bucc-ees experience and yes the bathrooms were clean, rare lol. I tried a brisket sammitch and it was quite good for gas station food.️
