I made a batch of tots tonight just in the oven and they just don’t get crispy enough to be good … maybe ina pan with oil they would

If you have one put them in a cast iron pan in the oven or use broil if you're using a baking sheet, but watch them close if you use broil.

I have air fried them in the oven and that’s not that bad

I don't use ketchup either, I dip in honey mustard if I'm making tots, but I still think they make better hash browns when you mash em up.

Broil will get tots super crispy, though.

Restaurants have those special industrial ovens though. I have a friend who works in a restaurant kitchen, those things are turned on early and never really stop so they get super hot.

Yeah that must be it … plus most fried food goes well with ice cold beer
