The Darker Side of Nothing.

Angus rode onward as the storm raged on overhead, lightening streaked the skies as thunder roared. Midnight reared spooked from the storms fury, reigning his steed in he quickly dismounted. Spying a cave with the next flash of lighting, drew his wolves head hilted sword lead Midnight into it. It was dry further on inside with the makings for a fire, withdrawing a flint rock striking sparks from it with his sword the fire lit.

Stepping to settle the animal down he spoke soothingly. ''Aye my friend...not a night fit fer man or beast.'' Wiping Midnight down with an old dry flour sack, his breathing and heart rate slowed to normal. Angus got a whinny and a thankful nuzzle from his faithful friend. ''Aye boyo you're welcome.'' Giving Midnight a pat on his neck with a stroke of his muzzle, seated by the fire to warm himself and to dry his clothes.

A bitter cold sadness gripped his heart like the icey hand of death itself, mounting Midnight quickly spurring the powerful stallion toward the frozen lake. Not knowing exactly why he dove from the horse, crashing through the ice into the intensely cold waters depths. Angus saw his love near lifeless little body, gathering her petite body into his arms he walks along the bottom to shore.

It was almost all he could do to mount Midnight with her, shivering uncontrollably he raced his steed back to the cave. Once inside Angus fell from the saddle onto his back, holding his sweet lass the impact with the ground knocked the water from her lungs. The heavy jolt he hoped started her heart as he gave her the kiss of life, with her cold blue body in his arms compressed her chest repeatedly. ''Ivory come back to me!...your wolfie is here for you!''

Her body stirred weakly beneath him, her form trembling as her eyes opened. The focused on his form and she instantly pulled away, tears filling her eyes. "Angus..." Her voice soft, she trembled still frozen and numb beyond compare.
"I'll kill you, y-you can't be here..."

''Aye you would lass...if you didn't love this old wolf of yours'' Struggling to sit up being he was half frozen, he shivered but was relieved his lass was alive. The fire needed more wood as Midnight dropped a log from his mouth, he whinnied snuffling Ivory's wet hair. ''See he trusts you too love...as do I.'' Hugging her close rocking from side to side. ''I'll hunt for you and bring you all the food you'll need for the babe.''

She would gently begin to remove his wet clothing from him. "Just relax, you'll catch hypothermia in these." Her voice soft, as her eyes studied him. They then drifted about the cave.

"This place is very near my home..." She spoke now through chattering teeth, she trying to warm her lover. "Morning... We'll go there."

Being too damned cold to resist his wee lass he'd gladly die for if necessary. Shivering was a good sign if he stopped then hypothermia had set in. With a bit of a struggle he helps his love out of her cold drenched clothing. ''Aye...no place for a wee lass a carryin meh babe.'' As he realized what he'd just said he grins, I'm goina be a Papa he mused to himself rubbing his arms. I'm goina be a Papa to a Werefury? She'll be a special Lass our girl aye.'' Getting out of this cave and into a nice warm house, this sounded really good to him especially Ivory's home.

"Why wouldn't it suit me, love?" She asked, slightly puzzled. "It's delicious, it's going going to keep Mr going for a few hours, all that good stuff so why do you say such a thing?"

She would have his and her form nude. Quietly she would cling to him, her rapidly expanding belly already half an inch bigger. "A pregnancy, for a fury lasts three months... By the second half of the third month... I'll be dangerous."
She wouldn't be able to look at him as she spoke softly. "I will be unable to control myself... Lock me in my basement, and no matter what, do NOT let me out..."

She thought what her own mother's pregnancy must have been like. Her poor father eaten like so many before him. "We only breed for impregnation, not love in my culture. Furies only birth daughters, and usually we only love femmes... Of our own family of course."

As she spoke, she pulled further and further from him. Scaring herself it seemed.

''You mean you have no love for me? How can that be if you'd warn me of this not taking the advantage? He didn't wish to die by her hands, yet he wouldn't abandon her to be a danger to everyone. He'd risk his life to help her whether she returned his love or not, then after she'd safely delivered this child he'd leave if she wished. ''Aye Ivory...I'll do as you wish either way.'' He just wanted to hold her close while it was still safe to do so, she was obviously scared of what was capable of. "Tis not for weeks that you're a danger ta meh Lass...sit warm yourself''

Her soft eyes filled with tears as she pulled him close to her. Her timid lips, the bottom bloody from the biting earlier, pressed to his lips carefully. Whispering against his mouth, her voice shook.
"I love you, more than I have ever loved another human, besides my mother. Ibis unnatural for a fury to feel love for a man. Unnatural for the father to see the birth of his little girl. But sometimes, the unnatural, is the most natural thing to ever happen."

He smiled, that wickedly gorgeous smile of his and held out his hand for the little elf. "Come now dear. We have sick and wounded souls to heal."

Wrapping his arms around to Mother of his only child he'd Fathered, he as gently returns her loving kiss. A light taste of blood remained his lips, after her lips brushed against his. As she whispered her profession of love for him, he listened to all she said as he felt her heartbeat against his chest. ''Aye...tis a true thing you speak of...I do love you as none other ever shall.''

She would kiss his jaw through his beard softly, her small form resting over his, covering his nudity from the world. Her small round bottom.pointed to the sky. Between them, their child grew, she developing slowly.

A slow smile would curl upon his lips as she places a sweet kiss through his beard. The little swell of her belly a soft contrast to his hard muscular stomach. Drawing his love closer to him sharing their warmth and love, turning to gaze into the amber eyes his of steel grey protective of her as any blade.

He nodded silently and waited for her at the door. His smile fading slowly as he thought about the horrors to come.

She would rest her head on his shoulder, her lips soft lips finding his neck. She would allow her hands to dance down his big arms. Her legs falling between his.
"I hope... She has your eyes."

She came to the door where he waited, a small bag over her shoulder. She had changed her eyes back to green, and she hated that. "Let's go," she said softly, kissing his cheek gently.

He took her hand and slowly they faded. A few minutes later they manifested in a run down shamble. Ironic it seemed, for everything was solid gold. He led her down a dark.alley, the whole area smelled of mold. Just past the alley rested a high bridge. Movement could be seen from.its dark depths. "Speak softly..."

Rubbing her lower back his large hands gently massaging sore muscles, nuzzling her cheek as her head cradles against his shoulder. A quiet sigh escaping him as her warm tender lips caress his neck. The upper muscles of his arms flexed slightly as he soothingly massages up her spine. ''Aye?...your cute button nose and dimples too my Lass.'' Emphasizing the point by lightly touching her nose and dimples with an index finger.

"Hello?" She asked softly. "Is there someone there?" Her voice was soft and caring, almost like a whisper.

He touched her arm softly. "Follow slowly..."

"Nani, notches qui?" He spoke in a broken dialect as he stepped into the darkness.
"Dini lectai." A elderly voice broke, "I'm here... We are here." She repeated in a tongue the little elf could understand.

The further they stepped into the shadows, the clearer the people became. Mostly children, huddled in cluttered masses. Elderly supported each other in the.filth, their legs too weak to stand.

Her took the bf's and and spoke calmly to her. "Go to the children. Speak slowly, they will understand you and try to speak in your language. Ask them what's wrong, they will tell you and work from there."

A soft moan would leave her as her sore muscles were addressed. She would further relax against him a small smile touching her lips. She would stroke his cheek softly. "I hope she learns your honeyed words... Her ways, I pray they are yours."

She feltba heat overtake her and she closed her soft eyes. Before the irises were hidden the flooding of.crimson could.be seen. She hid her face in his body, waiting for the feeling to pass.

"I hope... she isn't born with my eyes."

She nodded and walked over and knelt down to be near the children's height, speaking softly, learning the language as she worked. She could feel the pain, the anguish from everyone, and the medicines she gave were greeted with gratitude she's never known. She gave instructions to both children and parents, speaking softly and calmly, enunciating.
