The 'How To' Contest Support Thread

Og,
Good Luck with the x-rays. I know back pain unfortunately. Hope your's is fixable!

On another note, I have two ideas for this How to writing contest and cannot seem to choose. One is a non-erotic essay and the other is very erotic. I am very hesitant to write erotica as I've never done that and don't want to be bad at it. I also don't want my non-erotic idea to be laughed at.

Fear, you say? You bet. What to do, what to do?
Somehow I feel compelled to write something but this damn fear keeps jumping in front of me.............

Did I mention that I don't consider myself a writer. I just get ideas and have to put them on paper or they just bang around inside my head.
Is that it? Should I think of myself as a writer.....it's too early for me to be thinking.
Ok, so now my insecurity is really showing. I hate when that happens. Better go now before I totally embarass myself.

Hi, Red,
I can promise you that nobody will laugh at you. :) This forum is a very friendly place and very supportive. If you write humor, people will laugh :) with you, but nobody will mock you.

I do think of myself as a writer but not an author. I just like to write stories describing fun sex :p among men and women, always :nana: consenting adults. I've written scores of them because I have fun doing it. :D

If you want to, you can write both essays. I'm sure there is no particular limit on how many entries you can submit.

Oy! Slink right back, right now! :p

And yes, write both. And if you want an honest opinion or a proofread or an edit or a push or a prod, please feel free to PM me. :)

If you send it too early, it might not be entered in the contest. The best idea might be to send it now, marked as a contest entry and include in the "Notes" the request that it not be posted until a certain date. I think it's the 14th but I'm not sure.
hm... i just decided to send it in when i get back home. it will probably on the evening of the 14th anyway, and even if it's only a day later, it's still not that late, i guess...

No, sweetie... "Art."

'twas a joke, making "art" into "Art"... short for some guy, Arthur, who's slow....

oh never mind... ;)

Like Dudley Moore in "Arthur"? Pretending to be an airhead is fun and stuff. :D

Hmmm Morning Peeps,

Still not sure if I am going to submit my 'How To'. It's definately not an instructional essay.. and I feel like if I change it, it will be a different story altogther. Also, it's a bit short at the mo; in fact it doesn't actually have an ending yet!

Doesn't time fly when you have a crappy job.. :D

Okay, I got a how to question to ask of the long time artists of Literotica. I was awake all night, started and finished a new chapter of my latest series. My problem, after writing over 7000 words I was a bit loopy and instead of submitting it under the title A Slave of his Desire, I submitted it under A Slave to his desire. Not much difference but it really screws up my submission page. Any idea on how to fix this?

Thanks.

Hi sweet thing.

Either you re-submit it with EDIT in the title, or you send Laurel a PM. The PM would be better because it could be changed before the story's out. The edit route takes much longer.

I suppose you could re-submit your chapter with the title as it should be, and make sure to explain the mix-up in the Notes box so they can delete the "To..." one and restore order. ;)

As for the other thing, I don't know about the movie but I remember seeing this particular design on a T-shirt somewhere.

ETA: Crap! Late. :p

Thanks so much ladies for your expert help. This is the second goof I did on this stupid story, first time I submitted chapter five as chapter 95. And no, it don't matter how well this thing is going, I'm not making it that long, people might hate me when I'm done.

I'll try a pm.

*dismissive sound* Who cares? Besides, if it goes that far it could be made into a cable TV series on Showtime late night.
