My hands are stained in purple blotches from blackberry picking and I one of the stains looks like an elephant...or wait...maybe a unicorn... or wait... yes, definitely a zebra... I think... hmm ...

And just FYI, the subsequent mashing of the bounty into a fresh blackberry lemonade was ALMOST too perfect to drink, almost.

Alright I confess blackberries are kind of an aphrodisiac for me and I am trying to patiently wait for them to come in season here so I can go picking and stock up for the year. Well, and make myself ill while they are still fresh

Well, I'm not Cali but there was a blackberry bush near our house when I was a kid and I used to bring my mom basketfulls of berries for lemonade.

You'll need three lemons and a basket of blackberries.

Crush the blackberries well. Strain the juice if you don't want the pieces and seeds in your lemonade.

Juice the three lemons and zest them, careful not to get any bitter pith.

Mix the lemon juice, zest, blackberry juice together. Add a little honey, agave nectar or sugar for extra sweetness. Add water to taste. Serve over ice.

We also had blackberry bushes behind our house as a kid and my mom would send me out to gather them for pies. I made sure enough made it back hehe but that was the beginning...

Yes, SD... you and this how to are so berry right! Thank you! I wish I would have had enough honey because that sounds so much better, but I had to make it with sugar. This is pretty much how I made it, but when figuring out ratios for something like this I prefer to do it all by taste given lemons and berries can be moodier than the cook. However you like it to taste, make sure you serve it in a clear glass because the color is AMAZING! I will also share that some folks opted for vodka to taste instead of water, and seemed thrilled with the result.

I met a guy today who makes beautiful cuffs in steel and leather. They are jewelry cuffs, I bought one, put it on, and nearly forgot that it wasn't my own skin. The cuffs are open, you squish them down until they fit you, and pry them apart to take them off.

But I wanted to ask him why they don't have loops to lock them on with.
Like, duh, right? Locks on steel and leather bracelets?

I did get a price from him for a choker-- and I'd certainly ask him for locking loops on that.

Finally have every one who is working on my case, talking to each other. So as of yesterday, I am on short term, so I can heal and not get yelled at for not doing what the doc says I shouldn't be doing anyway.

While I really would rather be working and doing something, if it's going to mean that I'll stop getting bad reviews while I am physically unable to do duities per doctor's orders that they feel I should be doing, then I'd rather be off.

Just took a lot of screaming and a lot of threatening, but finally some one came through for me.

And I should be getting my back pay by the end of the week.
